The food is always excellent and the service, impeccable. We had a group of six and everyone asked to have their steak done to a slightly different level. Each one came out exactly the way it was ordered. That's pretty amazing.
Great food and great service!
Dining at The Capital Grille is an experience that you will never forget. From the time you enter the restaurant to the time you depart, everything is done on an exceptional level, with attention to details as their highest concern. Professional wait staff from the greeter to being seated, from checking to make sure your meal is exactly what you ordered and expected, to packing the remainder of your meal to go home with you.
Denise was an outstanding server as always. She always has a smile on her face and truly loves her job. She went above and beyond to make our anniversary truly a night we will never forget. We continue to come back because of her!
Miranda was excellent. Nikitas is wonderful as well; but, he was not there and Miranda did a wonderful job for us. Thank you, Irene Ross
Great service provided by all, thank you!
I would recommend only if you are Beef/Meat eater.
The restaurant does not list how the Meat is raised, this is a relevant topic and needs to be addressed
The restaurant does not have any good seafood options at all, for example;
Swordfish....(a special offering this night)...reall? So high in mercury, no one should be eating this, or only on a rare occasion.
Salmon ...not wild, its farm-raised. So many restaurants in Boston offer Wild or Sustainably Raised Wild Salmon...not Capital Grille!
Sea Bass (Giant)....this is an endangered species! They could not tell me where it was from? The Source means something since there are heavily regulated, clean indoor tanks.
Who writes their menu? Clearly someone who is not aware. I have no plans to go back.
We were out on a Friday night for an early dinner with dear friends. We were celebrating the recent sale of our business. The waitress shared Congratulations, didn’t rush us and brought a sweet desert - never something I particularly care about but it was done in such a kind and wholesome way it fit the evening.
We had a wonderful waitress and our dinner was delicious!
Our 48th wedding anniversary.
Absolutely amazing. From the service , to the food. I wish I remembered our waitresses name. she was amazing and made our anniversary great! the food was made to perfection. this is my favorite restaurant by far!
It was fantastic!
My wife, two adult daughters and I went to Capital Grille for Valentines Day. We all had steak and shared a couple sides of spinach and potatoes au gratin. We also had a couple drinks each. The food and our server Miranda were great. I had NY strip au poivre, my wife and one daughter had a filet mignon topped with crab and my other daughter had a NY strip. They were all fantastic. The sides were great and were plenty for all of us. The only drawback was the cost. I understand this is fine dining but $450 without tip is crazy. Its in line with other great steak houses like Ruth Chris but i think its excessive. I guess places like this just aren't meant for your average middle class family except on very special occassions.
Love this place. Food is amazing. And the waitstaff are all very friends and have awesome personalities. Where do you find them!?!?! I keep coming back
We went here for a Valentine’s Day dinner. The service by our waiter, Sean, was outstanding. He was very energetic and attentive despite it being very busy. It didn’t feel too cramped on the inside of the restaurant which could’ve been a problem for how busy of a night it was. Going there felt like a truly special experience for the holiday. However, the one negative thing we encountered was the wait. Of course we had made a reservation months in advance, and because of that we were expecting about a 15 minute wait to be seated tops. This was not the case though. We arrived at 8:35 for a 8:45 reservation but we were not seated until 9:25. It seems as though they over booked the restaurant for the holiday. I would be careful if you are trying to go here for a holiday such as this because I’m sure it’ll happen again. Overall it was a very nice experience and we will be back again.
Valentines Day. Excellent food and service but very crowded and noisey. Too many tables crowded into a small space.
Valentine’s Day was fantastic at Capital Grille Chestnut Hill! The food and the service outstanding. Amy , our server was attentive and always within eyesight even on a very busy night. Barbara, at front desk brought us to our table. my husband requested a different table & she accommodated us. Again on a very busy night. Love this location. we come back often and sit at the bar
Everything was awesome. Sean was excellent. So happy they had the South African lobster 😊
Food was excellent. But, we were seated in the Wine Room. The room has temperature issues (wait staff admitted). 6 tables were in there and I heard other patrons complaining that it was too cold. Keeping my coat on made for an uncomfortable Valentine’s Day celebration.
Pre Valentines Day lunch.
Tonight my husband and I decided to come to The Capital Grille in Chestnut Hill to celebrate his birthday. Firstly, we were greeted by the most friendly and outgoing maitre d’s, I wish I caught their names. We shared some laughs and stories before I was even sat at my table. For dinner we had Jill as our server. She was phenomenal from start to finish. She was attentive and hit every step of service. We were very very pleased with her. And the cherry on top of our night, on our way out, the maitre d noticed I was pregnant and left me with a little gift (baby bib) for the baby. She went over and beyond what she needed to do and I am so sad I didn’t catch her name. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much for the best experience and memories!!
Formal setting for business dinner. Dining room din is a bit loud. Food and service are top notch!
Crab cocktail and tuna tartare were delicious, kona crusted steak was outstanding.
Capital Grille NEVER disappoints!!! time after time it is the best!!!!
Our go to restaurant for celebrations. We are never disappointed.
30 year customer - service is usually a little better
Food was great as expected and service was exceptional. Did not feel rushed at all and really was a pleasant experience. If willing to pay the price, totally an enjoyable night out.
Stephen, the bartender, was excellent on his recommendations for wines and steaks. Superior service!
The food and wine were of course delicious - both got steaks, cooked exactly how we wanted. Our server Moe was absolutely wonderful, very attentive and professional. Not sure why but when we ordered our dessert, he comped us three desserts and packaged them to go home with us. Chocolate cake, cheesecake, and coconut cream, all delicious. We were very surprised and grateful. Will certainly be back.
Food and service were fabulous!
Birthday lunch- and we received a lovely dessert surprise!!!
We had an amazing night, the food was outstanding. . The service was impeccable. My daughter is gluten-free. They went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs. My only complaint was that the restaurant was too loud.
Great service. Great food. As always
Four of us went for lunch and, as usual, it was wonderful. Service, food and the overall experience are all always excellent at the Chestnut Hill Capital Grille, my favorite place to go!
This is an unusual review because it has nothing to do with the ambiance (great), food (great) or service ("Kristina," superlative). Rather, it has to do with a completely atypical evening. My wife and I were taking a dear friend to his favorite restaurant (The Capital Grille in Chestnut Hill). He was there when we arrived, with the bread that he loves. We chatted, had a Calamari appetizer (free from an earlier birthday dinner), and ordered our steaks and wine. The food arrived in good time and we began to eat.
Then things changed. Our friend said he had felt ill when he arrived (before he ate or drank anything). He excused himself and returned. Then he quickly excused himself again and headed back to the men's room. After a brief period, the manager came by and asked if we had a missing guest. It turns out our friend had passed out and was lying on the floor. A fellow patron, who happened to be a local police officer immediately offered assistance, and soon the EMT's were on the case. The point of this review? The staff of Capital Grille could not have been more professional, compassionate, humane and responsive. The managers were standing by. Kristina, our server, was with us asking how she could help. I offered to pay for the meal for the local policeman and his fiancé, but found the restaurant had already done that.
An unusual review -- The food and ambiance and service were "as expected" (excellent). But in an unusual emergency situation, the staff performed magnificently. (End of story, the "event" turned out not to be serious and our friend is fine.)
Server Ronaldo was great, food and atmosphere was great too! It was a perfect lunch!!
As always the food is delicious. We shared the rib eye sandwich which was done perfectly and the lobster salad.
A great pairing if you want to save some calories. The complimentary dessert for my friend's birthday was wonderful. They truly make you feel special when you celebrate an occasion.
