The Capital Grille - Burlington Ratings and Reviews
We came for my son's 18th birthday. They sat us at a round table squished in the back. It wasn't very comfortable. Service was fine as was the food but the experience was hampered by the table put in the back where everyone had to step around us and we had to get up if someone needed to move.
We haven't been to the Capitol Grill in a while so it was nice to give it a try again. To sum up our dinner, my husband and I agreed that unless we had a gift card, we wouldn't go back. The food was great, the service was great. The dining room was very loud and crowded. Our meal was over $230 for just the two of us. I don't mind spending the money but it has to be excellent. The Capitol Grill missed the mark.
We celebrate our husband's birthdays annually at Capital Grill because they make efforts to make it more special than just dining out. When we arrived to our table, it was decorated and included a welcoming note. They specialize in steak but one can't go wrong on anything prepared. I love thew porcini rubbed rib-eye with aged balsamic, but all treatments are great. If you are celebrating an occasion, Capital Grill will be sure to make it memorable.
Definitely not inexpensive but the food is really good quality and really well prepared. Had one of the best steaks I have ever had in my life and I have had a lot of steaks. The service is always good and the ambiance, well, it is what it is. It's an expensive steakhouse - it feels like an expensive steakhouse which means it's perfect for business meals because it doesn't have a lot of personality - it's kind of like background music. But it's fine - it doesn't detract from the wonderful meal.
Have been to Capital Grille multiple times. Have always felt that the restaurant is always too crowded. The bar area should be just that; a bar area and not for dinner seating. The result is that it feels like they are stuffing as many people as possible into the restaurant to the point where you literally cannot walk through the restaurant.
The other result is that it is extremely noisy, so it’s not a great place to go for a peaceful meal.
We made the mistake of saying we were not in a hurry towards the end of our meal, so that was our fault and we ended up waiting a very long time to get dessert and finally the bill. Outside of that, the service was impeccable. The entire staff was very attentive and accommodating.
The food was good but was not really worth what was being charged.
Arrived a bit early for our reservation, but the hostess was able to seat us right away. Ambiance was wonderful, the wine list/drink list had many options to choose from. I had the Sushi-Grade Sesame Seared Tuna with Gingered Rice. Presentation was beautiful and was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Chef Suggestion: Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Strip which he enjoyed immensely. We shared the Parmesan Truffle Fries & Soy Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon. Can't wait to come back for another visit. Definitely worth the drive!
Second visit to this location for business. The place does get crowded especially on Thursday nights in this area surrounded by major tech companies since it really is one of the only high end restaurants in the area currently besides the Bancroft. The one issue I see with the Capital Grille is that it is overpriced, stuffy and just an old school restaurant. Sure the menu is littered with fancy cut of steak, seafood and other dishes including sides and appetizers. However when it really comes down to it, this is a fancy done up chain located in every major city that tries to put on a good impression but fails miserably. The food is basically average at best and the steaks are not the best I have ever had. This location is better than Chestnut Hill and Providence, but its still the same old thing. The service is okay and goes over the top to make an impression but the food falls flat. I was surprised by how average the Tuna tartare was and the bone in sirloin with gorgonzola topping was tough and over done. Surprised for a $60 steak how average it really was. Wine suggestion was on par but the sides of truffle fries was again over cooked and too crunchy. The end bill was what you would expect for two your basically paying downtown Manhattan prices for a place in the suburbs of Boston which is crazy. If your looking to make an impression, try going a mile down the street to the Bancroft which has been repeatedly voted best of Boston and is cheaper with better food and the same high end image.
It was my twin girls birthday today which I noted when I booked the reservation. I requested a special dessert. Maybe a candle or something simple. Just an acknowledgment. The server was not very attentive and no acknowledgement for for girls. They didn’t complain but I was disappointed for them because I expected that when I noted it, it would be acknowledged. Very disappointed for them.
We enjoy going to the Capital Grille for all of our business functions. Whether it's entertaining clients or employee get together The Capital Grille does an outstanding job. The general manager Adam, our server Santos, hosting staff and everyone go out of their way to make us feel welcome every time we go there. Great job. Thanks
The food and service were superb. Our waitress Kristy was wonderful. It was a birthday celebration so they sent champagne and dessert to the table. All 6 meals we ordered were cooked perfectly. The only problem was trying to use my Open Table Dining Reward. When I went to redeem it on my phone, it came up as zero dollars even though earlier in the day it showed a $50.00 reward. The manager tried to help with it, but was not able to. I have been in touch with Open Table to either reissue my 20,000 points or the $50.00 gift card. (Yes, 20,000 points does not necessarily get you a $100.00 reward.) They have told me that they cannot do either. I suggest you print out your reward before going to the restaurant.
We had a lovely dinner celebrating my brothers birthday. All of our steaks were perfectly cooked and delicious. The whole staff was so kind and courteous. Bianca was our waitress and she was so attentive and sweet to us. I’m sure my brother was smiling down on us.. thank you to the entire team!!
We were seated quickly and given our food and menus at that time.
Our server, Santos, explained what the specials were and answered our questions well.
Our drinks arrived first and our food orders arrived at appropriate times allowing us to enjoy our meal and then order dessert with suggestions from Santos.
Meal was delicious. Santos and the manager checked to see if we were satisfied.
We were and will be back.
