The Capital Grille - Boston

Melissa R. was wonderful. Very friendly and professional. Made us feel special and wanting to come back to see her again. Food was also amazing. Will be back for sure :-)

Very good food & service with decent wine by the glass. The salmon, fillet mignon, and half-chicken were all cooked to perfection and very tasty. Sides are large, but flavorful and can be shared by many diners. Prices are a bit high, but reasonable for a downtown Boston steakhouse.

I just want to have a cozy dinner before sending my son off to school!!! OMG to the service!!

We arrived 15mons earlier than our “7pm booking”. The reception said we were preparing your table. OK that’s fine! let we waited next 10mins standing. Wen asked again about our table, they said oh I got your booking at 7.15pm?? What!! They should have told us so we can wait and chill out at the bar. No fuss about +10-15mins chill out at the bar!! BUT please communicate!!

When at our table, our food went to wrong nearby table 2 times!! OMG This standard restaurant?? Then toward the end, while waiting for our desert, a waitress brought another set of food to serve our table again!!

The food was not that outstanding vs other steak places ( Morton, or Ruth Chris are way better for everything!!)

Food and atmosphere as expected from being there before. Dominic was our server and he was professional and amazing.
Red Sangria and Bohemiam drinks were refreshing. My husband had the Manhattan.
Steak was nice and juicy, cooked to desired levels.

Great service...lobster bisque was outstandIng. The ambiance was fantastic. They are pricey...2 bottles of sparkling was was $30... really :)

Never again. Had poor experience three weeks earlier at chestnut hill location- my husband asked for quiet table for my 60th birthday- we got seated in the lounge with TV's blasting and loud sports fans. Therefore when I made this reservation I specifically asked for quiet booth. Did not get it. Meal was SO rushed! Waiter describe a filet mignon special which we ordered ( know the regular menu has two filet mignon choices at $53) he never mentioned that this one was $71 !!! Ugh so not worth it. After years and years of loving Capital grille ( live in Providence and that is the only good one but constantly booked? We are done

The room we were in was all parties of 2. It felt like the couples room. A mix of party types would have been better.

Food and service were excellent as usual.

Had reservations for valentines weekend we arrived a few minutes before our time we waited a good amount before being seated. We understand that it was a busy time and are not upset. We were asked if we would like water, still water, or iced by three different people and we asked for still to all three and still was brought iced water. 10 mins went by we met our waiter and he offered us wine and he just gave us a tablet with no recommendations and just walked away. About 15 mins passed and we ordered our wine and he walked away before we even had a chance to order our food. Now about 30mins after sitting out bread arrived and was very good. Finally our wine shows up and we order a few starters and filet, lobster tail and tenderloin with a few sides. About 1hr passes before we got our food. They forgot one of our sides and brought something we didn’t order he allowed us to keep the mistake. Food was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Would highly recommend the food there to anyone. However we were there for almost two hours and we were tired so we didn’t eat a lot and we packed it to go (still very good the next day). The bill came and we noticed that the waiter brought roses to every other women but not us and we were talking about it and I don’t know if he heard us but he brought us one as we leaving which was kind of rude. Overall our waiter was sub par and treated us as second class citizens. We noticed the other waiter that was in our room was much more personal and looked to have a quicker turn out. Overall the food was excellent,price for portions were good, and service with our waiter was poor.

Better than New York

Waited a long time for the food but it was worth it. Also, don’t make the mistake of coming off as someone who is interested in getting wine but knows nothing wine—they will make some very expensive recommendations. Nice place though. Expensive so prepare to pay an arm and a leg.

The filet is definitely not worth $51. It was over cooked, and was too salty. The creme brule was delicious. Highly recommend. The service was great. Atmosphere was great.

The service is good but the food is a little bit salty, I had to drink a lot of water.

We were in a spot that was close to a main walkway near the kitchen so it was naturally a little bit more noisy, but we didn’t mind it too much. Katherine did a wonderful job making our celebration extra special. We always love celebrating here because of how wonderful the staff is and the food is unbeatable.

This venue is known for its excellent food and service, as well as it’s huge price tag. If you’re not wealthy then save this for a special occasion because you’ll be spending $50+ per entree. BUT, the food is awesome as well as the service, and every member of the staff will do whatever it takes to make your experience worth the price tag. Again, this is a dining experience and not just a simple meal at a restaurant.

Overall, very nice place. I would like the prices to come down, I think they are too high for the level of crowd that is there. These prices are expected for exotic foreign cuisine, such as an intimate fancy french restaurant, but this is just a gourmet steakhouse in a prime location. Considering the crowd, I think the prices should be 15%-20% less. I think it's too pricey. For this price I will go french.

My family and I had not seen each other for awhile. We love Capital Grille and decided it would be the perfect place to be together.

Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful as always. Dinner at the Capital Grille is always a treat. Well done!

We were seated in on of the back dining rooms where the ambiance was sub par compared to the main dining room. My clients were from out of town and it would have been a much more unique experience for them to be in the main dining room:

The dining area seemed to get louder as more guests filled the area. The food was delicious and the service very good!

Always a great meal - extremely consistent. One of the best places to have steak in Boston.

I love the kona steak and was disappointed with the steak quality plus it was over cooked. The scalloped potatoes were terrible and undercooked. Sams mashed were very good though

Great place for a special occasion. Food and service outstanding. Atmosphere is great.

Quality of food and preparation was consistently excellent. Brian, our waiter, was great. Wine recommendations were spot on. Only negative was we requested the kitchen cut up my wife’s chicken to bite size pieces as she had one hand in a cast. They dropped the ball and I wound up cutting her dinner tableside. I was surprised that with a simple request that they would fail to follow through.

The entire dining experience was wonderful! The food was great and there was a fantastic wine list.
