The Capital Grille - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
Capital Grill has always been a family favorite place. We were there on Sunday evening to celebrate a birthday. We were seated at an uncomfortable and undesirable table and when we asked for a change we were told the only other option was to squeeze into a table for 4...we were 6 people, so that was not really an option. The server was very pleasant but there was a slight disconnect between what was ordered and what was served. For the first course, one person was served lobster bisque when French onion soup was ordered. For the main course, instead of serving the sliced filet medium, with onions and no mushrooms, as ordered, what looked like a half portion of well done sliced filet with no onions and no mushrooms was brought out. It might have been someone else’s order because, without having to say too much, the plate was taken away and, several minutes later, replaced with a larger and much more appetizing steak correctly prepared. In the end it worked out...with the exception of the table location...but it was not our best experience at the restaurant.
The service from both the waiter and the manger was excellent. The quality of the food, of both the steak and the shrimp, was sorely lacking. For the price of the food I would not recommend dining there again. I wish I could be more positive as my wife enjoys the romantic atmosphere.
Greg was excellent although it took some time for first round of cocktails. Service and food were both great once we got going. Would recommend that surrounding tables continue to be set while guest are still dining. Not a good look while guest are finishing dinner. Overall solid experience and we will be returning and asking for Greg.
Jarred was the best. We have favorites that we always order at Capital Grille but his mention and explanation of the Dry Aged Delmonico was absolutely spot on. Lobster Mac and Crostini Shrimp are "can't miss" items and the In Fashion (twist on an old fashion) was perfect for after dinner.
My wife and I love this place and each experience is uniquely great.
Food and service were top notch. Our reservation was honored immediately and we were promptly seated. Our server Richard was attentive and friendly. The porterhouse and fillet were delicious. Another family member enjoyed his salmon. Overall, a great experience.
Had a mini High school reunion lunch at the Capital Grille. The staff was wonderful. The manager was so nice and sent over a complementary appetizer when he heard we were all Philly gals who were Eagle fans! Our waiter was great and our meals were delicious!
I've been to Capital Grill several times and that is why I still recommend it.
If this was my first visit I'd probably not recommend.
Delivery of our food was far too fast.
My steak was over cooked and needed to be replaced, which now affected the timing of our dinner all off.
I really like the atmosphere but this time it failed to meet our expectations.
The service at Capital Grille is impeccable. They do not have favorites, they treat everyone like they are important. In addition, if you have dietary restrictions, they are extremely accommodating. And of course, the food is consistently outstanding. Always a pleasure dining at this restaurant staple in Boca Raton.
Was not impressed with attitude from the waiter. Jesse James was his name tag and came across arrogant and rushed. Second we both ordered the salmon. For the $40 we paid for each fish we both got tail end pieces that I felt were defiantly not worth the money. We spoke with the manager and he ended up removing both pieces from our bill. Non the less wasn't impressed at all with this visit.
This is the 2nd time eating dinner here. The 1st experience was a bit better. We had a 7 pm reservation but we were not seated until after 7:30, the same for several other people. Our steaks were good, but not exceptional, which I expect for their prices. The sides were very good, as were the salads. The appetizers were another story. I got French onion soup which was almost all bread and barely any soup. My husband got fried calamari which was very over cooked, like chewing rubber bands. So bad that we sent it back, and we almost never do that. It was extremely cold in the room where we were seated. They turned the air down when we mentioned it and it did get better for a few minutes but then it kicked up again. I sat through dinner with a wool wrap on (which I luckily had with me due to the cold front we had) and was still cold. My husband had to suffer through it even more as he did not have any kind of sweater or jacket with him.
