The Capital Grille - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
It was a very good restaurant week menu. The ceaser salad was small and looked like it was pre-made. The wedge was delicious and a great size. The steaks we're perfectly cooked and the sides and dessert delicious. Service was good but nothing to rave about. A little bit of a wait for the table even with a reservation. Wait was about 20minutes to be seated. Decor is more business than date oriented. Wine list is good with lots to choose from. It is a good steakhouse, but there are Great steakhouses in Baltimore.
Perfectly cooked steak, an amazing wedge salad, great sides. The service was spot on, and my favorite server, Lawrence, is always the perfect host. Thank you to the GM, Jimmy, for coming over to spend some time charming my parents. There’s a reason I’m a regular!
The service we experienced was excellent. Lawrence was our server, he was professional and personable.
However, I ordered salmon and the middle was not cooked to my liking. It’s was four of us, and everyone else enjoyed their meal. The Parmesan truffle fries are the best!!
Go there for almost every restaurant week and usually one or two other times per year. Food is always top notch as is the service (usually request and get Marc as our server but not this time). The service was great this time too even though we did not get Marc. My wife and I didn't drink but out friends were a little taken back at the drink bill but it is the Capital Grille and not TGIF.
The food ok. However my steak was over cooked and a tad bit under seasoned. Our sides came out late, however the chef did comp us an additional side. The waiter was slow in taking our order and bring our drinks but he was pleasant. I have been to the Capitol grill before and had a better experience with the food and service, so I was a little disappointed. However, over it was a decent night out.
My boyfriend and I went for a special occasion - the service was amazing and Brian the Bartender was AWESOME - this will be an evening we will remember forever! Shoutout to Eric for taking a photo of my boyfriend and I and then presenting it in a frame to us -- I cannot stop telling all my friends about how much we loved our evening --- Oh.. and the food was SO TASTY!
To kick off Restaurant Week in Baltimore City, we met our friend at The Capital Grille. The restaurant was packed with a lively vibe. We were seated in the back room, which was really nice and quiet. Our server, Mark W, took excellent care of us. His memory and attention to detail is unsurpassed. We started with two Caesar Salads with Gran Padano Croutons and a Wedge with Blue Cheese and Nueske’s Bacon. The salads were crisp, fresh and good. Two of us enjoyed the Porcini Rubbed Sliced Tenderloin and one had the Kona-crusted New York strip. The tenderloins and the NY strip were perfectly seasoned and cooked to our specifications. To finish, we enjoyed the Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake and the Classic Crème Brulee. What we love about The Capital Grille is their consistency – we are never disappointed. Thank you for participating in Baltimore’s Restaurant Week.
Brian is literally the best bartender ever. He's energetic, friendly, and is always a good time. He makes the best drinks. The brussels sprouts are my favorite but were not great this time. The apple crostini was amazing and a must try for all desert lovers.
Food was awesome👍 highly recommend their steak . service was quick and professional. We went to celebrate our anniversary and they had a card ready for us thanking us for letting them be a part of our celebration . When it was time for my wife to order dessert, our waiter surprised us with a free anniversary dessert. We will recommend this restaurant to our friends so they can also experience the great time that we had celebrating our anniversary.
The service that Mark delivered was impeccable. He was very friendly and extremely attentive to our needs. I was a little disappointed with the taste of my steak and temperature. It was getting late so I didn’t want to send it back. All of the side items were perfect. I would definitely come back again.
Service including the valet was excellent. Food was good not great. Brussel sprouts were too salty and had a burnt after taste. My champagne was not as bubbly as it should have been. It came from a bottle that had been left open too long. Slightly off taste and flat. Also not served cold enough.
Starting this review by noting that the bar was great and our bartender pre-dinner was amazing, so no gripes there. This review is solely of the dining experience. We came here for New Year’s Eve. Honestly for what is deemed one of the best steakhouses and has such an elite reputation attached, I expected a bit more from dinner. The service and presentation was definitely not up to par with a fine steakhouse. My Caesar salad looked thrown onto the plate and the Brussels sprouts were soaking in their sugary soy sauce to the point of tasting like wet candy. Everything felt slapped together and sloppy. Didn’t feel like an experience, felt like a normal visit to a corner restaurant with a disinterested wait staff. Really expected more from a well-reputed steakhouse on NYE.
My daughters and I were there on New Year's Eve 2017. I've been to the Capital Grille before and enjoyed myself so much I knew I would like to bring my girls (ages 19 & 12) there for their first NYE experience. We were seated in the Harbor room which afforded a perfect view for the fireworks at midnight. When making the reservations I mentioned that it was my girls first time celebrating NYE outside of being at home. The chef made the evening extra special by giving my girls a special complimentary appetizer. At the end of the night all guest were given special props to ring in the new year. Many people would just look at this as another restaurant but for me it was another opportunity to make memories to last a lifetime and thanks to the Capital Grille it was a night to remember.
We dined at The Capital Grill and had an amazing time. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with confetti upon us sitting down. Our server Eric was amazing, he was very knowledgeable and took great care of us. We ordered drinks and the Calamari for an appetizer, which I would absolutely recommend. For our main course we selected the tenderloin with lobster and filet mignon with a side of mashed potatoes. Our food was perfect and afterwards Eric brought us a complimentary dessert (since it was our anniversary) in addition to a framed picture of us. Overall a great night and another great dining experience at The Capital Grille.
Always an excellent experience. Arrival and seating, service, and attention very smooth.
Steaks are outstanding. The mushroom bisque is my favorite. Good drinks and nice assortment of wines by the glass. Special occasion location for me but worth it. Makes you want to return.
First time there, Starting with our waiter Mark Davis, the service was impeccable. Attentive but not overly. The Manager stopped by the table, as did a chef. The entrees were outstanding, steaks cooked perfectly. Suggest the bone-in filet and Tomahawk Ribeye. Coffee rub is wonderful, and the Stoli Doli a must!
