Went for a birthday dinner date. Was treated well. Well attentive until the food arrived. Took awhile to get anyone’s attention for the check. Besides that, it was a great dinner. Excellent food and one of the better steak houses in the area.
Excellent service and fabulous food!
Lawrence was amazing, as always and the food was awesome! They never disappoint!
We had an early Easter dinner there and enjoyed everything. I had strip steak Oscar which was excellent. W finished with an apple dessert which was also good - I like the apples to be cooked soft, which they were. Our waitress, Elissa, was very efficient and attentive.
I brought a party of 6 college students with me. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome! The food was excellent- even on a busy Easter Sunday! Lazarus was amazing! Thank you again!
Fantastic meal. Top notch decor, food and service
Greet place to celebrate a special occasion. The double chocolate cake is really the most outrageous chocolate lava cake I have ever had. Worth a trip back just for that ! I also learned you can order a half portion of the calamari and sides. Great if you want to try several things from the menu.
Our server, Lane was outstanding and made the evening even more enjoyable.
The chef Martin did an excellent job and customized our tuna steaks to avoid the heavy sesame seeds on the menu and instead to substitute a delicious and less caloric sauce. We had great service and the food was wonderful, even if not cheap. Very nice time.
We love this place. I only get here a few times a year but The Capitol Grill never disappoints. Excellent service from Paul and top notch food from the tuna appetizer to the wine and cocktails and of course the steaks.
Fabulous service and beef beyond belief! I can't recommend this place more!
food was very good. came specifically because we were in the mood for beef. Dinners included the filet and the bone-in ribeye. Appetizer and salad shared. service was extremely good.
Our waitress, Layne Dobry did an amazing job! She was very friendly and nice. Extremely attentive to our needs. The food was awesome and delicious as always.
We had to wait when we arrived at 5:15 for a 5:30 reservation. Our waiter Oscar was A+. The food was great and they give us a photo and dessert for my birthday. The chef brought the dessert out. We were not rushed and had a very pleasant evening.
I was disappointed that the server did not listen to what I requested when I ordered the tuna steak----I asked that it be done medium, that is moist but not raw and not with a red middle. Apparently the server did not check the plates before a busperson presented the dishes, and my tuna was raw and deep red, so I sent it back. It came back a second time similarly raw, so I sent it back a third time----a simple act of listening and checking the item would have made a big difference, Likewise, we hardly saw our server during much of the meal hour, as she was busy with other customers. It was not the quality of service and attentiveness one expects from the Capital Grille.
Had the chance to take my wife here for our second anniversary, and Capital Grill made us feel really special.
Great food as well as service
A little loud but great service!
We had a great time celebrating our mother’s birthday. The round table in a private room was perfect for our group of 8. We will most certainly be back.
First time at the Capital Grille and we will definitely be back. Outstanding service (Josh) and the food was absolute perfection.
Disappointed as Lobster Mac and cheese served Luke warm and dry. Filet migon tasted like it was reheated and Luke warm for both my husband and mine. Service just ok waited a long time for it. Won’t return with so many better options for the price.
Wonderful meal with excellent service. Salad came out with dressing on instead of on the side and the waiter caught it before I could say a word.
My first time at The Capital Grille and it was absolutely fantastic! Our server Layne was very knowledgable about the menu and drink list, she was very helpful and friendly when we had questions about the menu or what she recommended. The dry aged porterhouse was as tender and flavorful as I could've hoped for, and the scallops were perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. The ambience was less up-scale than I anticipated as most of the guests around us were in polos or other more casual attire and I was expecting a dressier crowd for the time we went. But the night was perfectly capped off when Layne obliged to take a photo of my date and I and even took a photo with one of the restaurants cameras and gave us a framed copy. When we come back, we are definitely requesting Layne again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The food was wonderful, service was exquisite. I ordered the filet and it was perfectly seasoned and melt in your mouth tender!
Wonderful as usual
It was birthday and it was a wonderful experience
We went on a date night to The Capital Grille. From the valet service to dessert, we had a remarkable evening. Our waiter's name was Laz. He did a remarkable job telling us about the specials and new drinks that were available. I had a Caesar Salad, steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus. My wife had the salmon. Everything was expertly prepared. The fantastic service provided by Laz and team made the night even better. Laz surprised us and bought us dessert. Definitely fine dining at its best.
Hands down THE best restaurant in town. Everything on the menu is delicious, the whole team at Baltimore are friendly, accommodating and happy to go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant evening. We go with our children and the chef makes the most delicious chicken tenders off menu for them. The delicious ice cream is made in house and the steaks are awesome. Ask for Carlos - he is the jewel of The Capital Grille Baltimore and looks after us so well every time we visit.
Fantastic steaks. Group had ribeye, bone in filet. One had delicious sea bass. The waiter, Joshua was great, and very helpful and knowledgeable when we were looking for a particular wine.
From the minute we hit the door, the staff was courteous and professional catering to our every need. Our table was in the very back of the restaurant, not ideal but it worked ok. The food was great. My husband ordered something not on the menu and the wait staff were quick to make it happen with a smile. It was a delightful afternoon and we are sure to return.
Everything was perfect, as always. Rack of lamb and 10oz filet done exactly right.
I’ve heard of Capitol Grille for many years and was excited to try it I reserved via Open Table and chose the 14 oz Bone in Filet and Mushrooms in butter and a French Onion Soup as a starter.
I got there at 5:20 and the restaurant was just warming up for business. Hostess sat me at a nice private table. Restaurant had the smell of an older restaurant, not in a fresh or old leather way, in a carpets need to be replaced and walls painted sort of way.
Soup was pretty good, nothing that was above what I’m used to getting at a good steak house. Served piping hot, cheese melted to perfection and croutons had an amazing amount of crunch that did set it apart but I’m going low carb so I didn’t enjoy much of the croutons.
Unfortunately the filet was flavorless. I had ordered medium rare + and it looked beautiful. The horse radish accompanying per my request was also without flavor, no bite or sting. The steak was served hot, no complaints there.
I had ordered a side of butter and that don’t help much. Lots of pepper and I was really hungry so I ate it quickly and didn’t want to wait for a replacement or complain as I’d been up for about 20 hours and was looking forward to getting back to the hotel.
The mushrooms were over cooked and wilted and lukewarm.
Not a great experience for $100.
Very good, not great
Wife and I ate at the Capital Grill for the first time. It was our anniversary. We went based on the reviews. I think we caught the Grill on an off night. Our server, Joshua was excellent and apologetic for the numerous kitchen errors. My steak was excellent - no complaints about that. The appetizer was also excellent and the champagne on the house was a nice touch. Unfortunately, our order was late and my wife had to send the sea bass back (1st plate) due to undercook and then got scallops (2nd plate) that was also undercooked and sent back. She ended up with another order of appetizers. I’m not upset as the manager and the waiter were both very apologetic and ensured that we had a nice experience outside of the kitchen issues. I don’t think our experience is indicative of the restaurant. Chalking it up to an off night.
Ambiance was great! Overall, food was not. While the wedge and the fried calamari appetizers were very good, the entrees and sides left a lot to be desired. The tuna entree was tasteless. The presentation was equally as boring. The sliced filet entree was not tender. Although the flavoring of the sauce tried to cover it. The brussel sprout side dish was ruined by too much sauce. Unfortunately, we didn’t have an opportunity to discuss these issues with our server as she never returned to our table. For the cost of the meal, we would have expected much better.
It was my husband’s birthday. There service was impeccable!! Thank you for a great evening.
Our party of 5 got a nice private table. We had very attentive service. The food was fine but not inspiring, not quite worth the price of the meal. The restaurant seems to have the ambiance of an upscale eatery but not quite the food quality to match the atmosphere.
We hadn't been to Capital Grille in several years, but we were not disappointed. The entire meal was perfect--food, service, ambiance... The most consistent and luxurious meal experiences. Incredibly expensive but there's nothing else like it.
Delicious food, great service, and everyone cares.
The food is always very great but also very expensive. Usually it’s pretty quiet but there was a party going on which was very loud. The waitstaff were clearly not happy about these guests
