Andrew was awesome including the picture, roses for my girls and the apertif following dinner. Well Done Team Capital Grille!
David, our server, was excellent as always. Great place to eat as always. Excellent for business meetings.
This was a bad experience-they really should have comped the meal. Food arrived at different times, not cooked to the temperature requested, and just mediocre at best. Really disappointing.
My guest found her pasta and shrimp meal to be too rich
Great service & great meal.
The service is always second to none... the food was amazing as always...
If you get the chance, ask for James... he is the best!
Celebrating relocation to Austin metro area.
Steak and seafood is delicious. Service is even better!
Wonderful experience with the prefect steak at the center.
The 45 day dry aged NY strip is phenomenal. I’ve had it twice in the last 10 days. Each them were superb. Lobster Mac n cheese is a must.
Excellent server. Good quiet place to get work done at lunch. Loved the Texas portraits
The food was amazing but a little too expensive. Service is very good but bordered on pushy taking the plates away and pouring wine. It felt a little like they were trying to hurry us.
Wow! Our first time was amazing. Wine list is quite spectacular. Onion soup, porcini rubbed bone in rib eye, filet with Kona crust, au gratin potatoes all so yummy! Would eat it all again anytime. But our server Holly made it so special.
Great service and Wait staff. Food was excellent and I was treated royally for my birthday.
Birthdays for 3 of us.
Absolutely delicious! We have yet to have a bad meal. The porchini encrusted rib-eye is awesome!
Valentines Day date night. Delicious food, great service, a bit pricey but I knew what I was getting into. If one has the cash for it then it’s totally worth it, hopefully other people’s date will love it as much as mine did, because that’s all that matter at the end of the day. Upshot, I’d do it all over again.
The filet mignon was great and so were the potatoes! Our waitress was very kind as well. Overall a great experience!
Unfortunately I knew better to go out on a holiday night . First the manager was fantastic and took care of us ... so that is all I am going to say.. about our experience. He did the right thing so that tells me they truly care about the customer!
Wonderful experience. Live lobster was amazing!
We eat at Capital Grille in many different states. Austin is my least favorite. We were four adults eating around 445pm and they sat us at the closest table to the kitchen. When you have four adults on Valentine Day, you know these couples must be number one good friends and number two desire to speak. We had to ask to be moved and it made them upset. WHY? Not sure but the waitstaff was excellent just the hostess was rude.
Always excellent, always wonderful, always a value, never disappoints!
Great pre Valentine night at Capital Grill
Kelly was a fantastic server.
Food was outstanding.
It’s always a pleasure eating here. Servers are well trained and very attentive. Food is always well prepared. If I could change one thing, I would have a request to not use your cell phones while in the restaurant on the menu and at the host station. I sat directly across from a table of four and had to watch them all text on their phones the entire time they were seated. It diminishes the quality of the ambiance considerably.
Always fun to celebrate here. The food is great and the wait staff really to above and beyond to bring u little extras to help you celebrate.
As usual, Capital Grille was a great dining experience.
Great service and wonderful atmosphere
Our server was extremely well informed and conducted his duties with a wonderful sense of humor. I wish I knew his name, but surely you can look back at your records to see which table you seated our party and acknowledge his outstanding service to him.
This is a really nice place able to accomodate our party of nine prior to a Concert we were attending at 8:00 pm two blocks away. Ambiance of the private room was awesome. Wait staff and Bartenders could earn so much more if they were connected with guests. Our waiter was sort of available. Our particular party was for a Birthday Celebration with family and business owners from Austin and Houston,Tx.
It was a quick choice on a Saturday night for a family of 4 (kids 5/6). Everyone was hungry and ready to eat. The staff was very helpful and engaged the kids. Food service was quick and spot on. Great experience and the kids enjoyed the food too.
OpenTable made it so easy to book I doubted I had done correctly. Restaurant was great as expected!
Just a great evening. Not cheap but you get what you pay for! Service was outstanding, food was amazing. Literally no complaints.
Staff, food, setting all excellent. Waiter Anthony was a total pro. The bone-on rib eye rested and sliced in the kitchen as a service for two was best steak in awhile. The Caesar salad was very good, the potatoes au gratin were very good, the dessert was remarkable and the rose from the restaurant to my wife was an excellent touch. This is a highly recommended restaurant.
Our dining began with rose petals and confetti on our table and a birthday card and anniversary card. The service and food were just outstanding. We were treated to a glass of sparkling wine and beautifully plated complimentary desserts at the end of our meal. This restaurant is excellent!
I enjoyed my the evening, but it was an expensive outing most likely because of our wine choices. I would like to see a better wine list in terms of value. Also, better sparkling wine and Champagne offerings would be appreciated. A person should get a better choice for a pre-dinner glass of sparkling Rose or Champagne. Please contact Austin Wine Merchant for some help in this department. And no, I'm not trying to be funny. Also, would like to see more Pinot Noir choices available, especially from Oregon.
The desserts were absolutely wonderful as were our steaks.
Wonderful restaurant, great ambience ... everything we ordered, from oysters on the half-shell, lobster bisque, wedge salad, massive porterhouse steak, and swordfish adorned with lump crab meat... all terrific! The occasion was my wife's birthday, and the Grill did not disappoint! Birthday confetti on the table when we arrived (which I had to point out! LOL), a double dessert plate served with champagne, a fitting end to the excellent gastronomic experience.
The only small misses were in the service and cost categories. Jason was our waiter, and did a very good job. His poise and decorum hid his relative newness on the job (two months). A very likable fellow ... the support behind Jason stumbled a bit, empty plates tended to languish on the table, and dessert was served without utensils, and when requested, only new napkins were brought, Jason immediately delivered the utensils when he saw what happened. As noted above, small misses ...
In the value/cost column, the wine list was on the high side across the board. I understand the margin there "keeps the lights on" but compared to he wine lists of the other "downtown 1st class steakhouses" (even several specific bottles I look for), the wines were 10% to 15% higher. So, bring your own bottle, and pay the corkage fee ... issue solved! Better yet, ask the folks there how you can get your own wine/liquor locker at the restaurant ... LOL that's a cool option to have ...
Overall experience rating ... 9.6/10. Thanks The Capital Grill folks for a beautiful birthday dinner for my wife!
Not a fan of the two top table against the wall. I’m tall and had to squeeze into it. The tabletop itself is too small to adequately provide a comfortable dining experience; particularly with a bottle of wine, cocktails, bread and our appetizer at the onset. It’s location also provides a constant passing of guests and staff.
The service wasn’t five star, could have been short staffed, it was a Monday. When my date’s wine glass was empty on a couple of passes, we poured ourselves.
The crab cakes weren’t anything to write home about, the veal tomahawk was good.
