"The Canny Man's in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through 5 generations of the Kerr family. As famous chef Rick Stein said 'The Canny Man's is the best pub in the world.'
The establishment is well known far and wide for it’s quirky nature and ‘never’ changing décor. The interior sees every nook and cranny filled with everything from moose heads to muskets, sheet music to stuffed animals. A genuinely one of a kind bar and restaurant. The restaurant specialises in the best Scottish produce with a strong focus on local suppliers. Alongside this they have a well stocked gantry of over a 200 malt whiskies and a large wine list. The Canny Man's is very much a unique experience in Edinburgh and not to be missed."

Fantastic old school Edinburgh institution, fantastic Guinness, amazing food. The Beef Bourguignon was phenomenal if they have that on the menu, highly recommend!

We booked a bar table at canny Man’s. The ambience is terrific. There is very eclectic decor. They were hosting a function in the dining room but that did not detract from our experience at all. The service was lovely- efficient, friendly but not intrusive. The food was delicious. We had a grilled scallop appetizer that I could eat forever and never tire of it. The Canny Man’s was a perfect stop in Edinburgh, especially if you like the funky pub vibe with delicious food.

Maxing place filled with history. Stories of the mannequin on the ceiling are amazing…please ask the employees. They’re happy to share. We had breakfast m lunch and dinner here. All meals were delicious….highly recommend the sea bass! The ice cream desserts are wonderful…try the vodka one. All their cocktails were beautifully prepared…can’t go wrong with any on them. Prices are very reasonable especially for what you get! Cannot recommend highly enough!!!

Really enjoyed the food and the ambience in this historic pub. The restaurant was excellent for gluten-free food choices (I have coeliacs), but I was disappointed that they didn’t have any gluten-free beer; not even bottled.

We had the Sunday roast and it was incredible. Full of flavour and a decent plate full, beautifully cooked beef and amazing yorkies and veg. Loved it and the service was friendly and relaxed.
