"The Canny Man's in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through 5 generations of the Kerr family. As famous chef Rick Stein said 'The Canny Man's is the best pub in the world.'
The establishment is well known far and wide for it’s quirky nature and ‘never’ changing décor. The interior sees every nook and cranny filled with everything from moose heads to muskets, sheet music to stuffed animals. A genuinely one of a kind bar and restaurant. The restaurant specialises in the best Scottish produce with a strong focus on local suppliers. Alongside this they have a well stocked gantry of over a 200 malt whiskies and a large wine list. The Canny Man's is very much a unique experience in Edinburgh and not to be missed."

Having lunch in the Canny Man’s is always a unique experience, with the quiet ambiance and fascinating wall hangings this enhances the magnificent food and drink selections. Follow it up with a coffee and liqueur in the outside garden area , you cannot get any better . Good value for money with excellent service throughout the afternoon. One of Edinburgh’s top eating and drinking venues.

Had a birthday lunch here yesterday and we were not disappointed. Food and service were both excellent. We had our dog with us who was also very well looked after!

We have eaten in the Canny Mann's often and have been delighted with the food sadly on this occasion we were very disappointed. Our £25 each roast sirloin meals were tepid to say the least. Not sure if they had been lying out before being served however spoilt the occasion.

Fantastic old school Edinburgh institution, fantastic Guinness, amazing food. The Beef Bourguignon was phenomenal if they have that on the menu, highly recommend!
