The food is excellent. A nice variety from the traditional sea bass and steak cuisine. The grilled octopus appetizer was excellent (I'm not normally a big fan of octopus). Nice specialty fish selection like European Loup de Mer. Excellent service.
The restaurant is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our server Romy was the best. Retaining its ambience, the old cannery has been beautifully restored into a charming restaurant. The baseball memorabilia room is worth the trip alone! Even on a rainy day, we sat comfortably on the outdoor patio, fully covered and heated with an active sea and marina view. Food was unique and perfectly prepared...Peruvian Scallops delicious, Mediterranean Seafood Salad with lots and lots of fresh seafood tossed with a creamy Green Goddess dressing, Loup de Mer an innovative preparation of banzino, and the signature dessert with gelato, carmelized bananas, chocolate and fresh berries was awesome. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
The food is always innovating and excellent. The closed patio on cool days still gives a fine view of the boats and water. The service was well-timed with each dish coming soon after finishing the former.
We were a family group of 8, 4 generations, out for a New Years Day lunch. We sat on the patio which is right on the water. This was very entertaining for our 3 year old granddaughter. She watched the sea lions, ducks and boats come and go.
The menu has enough choices to please a broad age group (2-87). We ordered oysters, to die for burgers, Chilean sea bass, fish tacos, with Brussels sprouts and fries. Everyone in my groups was happy with their meal and full enough that we had to pass on desert! The prices are reasonable especially considering the waterfront location.
Our server was very cheerful which helped make for an enjoyable dining experience!
5 professional women met for NYE brunch. Our service was slow. After being seated inside, our waitress arrived in about 12 min. We tried to get the hostess attn at 10 min when she sat another table nearby but were ignored. Attn during our meal was sparse. Otherwise all was great.
The waiter was not at all interactive with us. Food was good.
I take out of town guests to dine at this restaurant and rave about the choices. I was disappointed that the dressing was changed on my favorite salad.......it was good but I just preferred the original dressing.
Poor food. Way too salty for every entree except the filets. We went to the restaurant for nostalgia as my father in law remembered the Cannery from thirty years ago as the BEST restaurant in Orange County. We were really disappointed in the food and underwhelmed by the service. We will not go back again.
Best clam chowder west of Boston.
We went after Christmas Eve church and had a wonderful brunch at an outdoor table overlooking the harbor. The service was very good. Started with a dozen oysters and a bottle of champagne.
