The Cactus Club in Palm Desert
After a long day of world-class golfing, relax in the our brand-new clubhouse restaurant, The Cactus Club, a place renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and the best American-style cuisine in the Coachella Valley. The Cactus Club's expansive menu is sure to please everyone's tastes, whether you're in the mood for pub-style fish & chips, surf & turf, home-made crispy fried chicken, or much more.
The Cactus Club offers live music on the beautiful fire-lit patio every Friday and Saturday night from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The music varies weekly and ranges from acoustic-rock to Chicago Blues to Country. In addition to live entertainment, The Cactus Club is also the only bar in Palm Desert to feature every NHL Hockey game in stunning high-definition, all season long.
Our family celebrated Mother’s Day at The Cactus Club. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the restaurant. Food selection and quality was very good. The real star however was the service. We wanted for nothing during our visit, the staff was very attentive and polite. Highly recommended!!
Made dinner reservations at 6:15pm to see the band Dysfunktion. Were seated on-time then no server ever came to our table after 20 mins. Went to the bar to get drinks, no server to take our dinner order until after 7pm. Our dinner came at 8:15pm...COLD. Never got our salads.
The band however was TERRIFIC!!
We (4) all had the fish and chips, $15.00 per and it was terrific, two HUGE pieces of fish, salad or soup, french fries and coleslaw. On the weekends they have local bands entertain, some are better than others, but it seems everyone enjoys whoever is playing.
The negatives are they allow smoking on the patio and of course the smell filters into the restaurant, and the noise level is LOUD. We'd love to see them just ban smoking everywhere in the evenings when dinners are served as it seems just a very few do smoke, but then again it doesn't take many smokers to spoil it for all.
I recommend this place because the food I've had in all my visits has always been good, the value for the money is good, and the entertainment just adds to the evenings enjoyment.
Noise levels were high, but it was happy noise, so it wasn’t annoying. We enjoyed the experience and will definitely return.
Just a fun easy place to eat. The chicken Florentine is good as are most things. I’d avoid the steak but everything else has been great
It is a nice fun place. Great service, good food and great value. I had the rib-eye which wasn’t the best. Someone else got the chicken Florentine and it was fantastic so I would definitely go back and have that. I like this place a lot
The service, staff and food were excellent. I had the salmon and my husband had the prime rib. There was also live music and they were very good. I rated the noise level a 4, rather than a 5 due to the speaker/sound problems.
Martin and Nora are always outstanding! Food is good and reasonably priced.
SERVICE AND FOOD AMAZING OLD TIME PALM DESERT RESORT ONE OF THE FEW LEFT A REAL GEM HOPE THEY CONTINUE WITH GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE I THINK RUN BY LOCALS WHO HAVE PRIDE IN THIS EASTABLISHMENT CHEF BEST AVER AND ALWAYS IN CHARGE SAME FOR MGR OR OWNER A REAR FIND
Music was good , however it was very loud. Our server was great but it took us an hour after we ordered to get our food.
Enjoyed the atmosphere with friends. The food was very good with good and courteous service. We enjoyed the live entertainment and would recommend this venue to everyone.
Only negative is the noise level and it’s not just the band. It’s really loud but overall great
Do not expect gourmet dining. Casual atmosphere no character. Decent value for money. Weirdest pea and ham soup I have ever had- made with fresh green peas. Lamb shank was OK. Fish and chips were greasy. Forgot to give us bread. If you.live close by then worth a visit. But otherwise don't bother.
We were seated in the main dining room where the doors were pushed back , allowing you to participate in the patio experience. There was a live band, dancing, and fun. People around us looked like regulars. Food was good, service was friendly. Very casual atmosphere. There were several wall tvs. I liked it.
It's hopping on a Friday, and while we couldn't get a patio seat, they have opened glass doors that make the experience quite similar inside, and you can hear the music very well -- almost too hard to have a conversation actually! But our food (fish tacos) and server were both great. The live music was nice, and people were clearly enjoying it. I wish the customers were a little more diverse, but it is a golf club restaurant, so it caters to that demographic, plus snowbirds. But it's welcoming and a good place to have a casual, affordable meal with entertainment -- not always easy to find in the Coachella Valley!
Great place for value. The menu could use a good hamburger and they would have it perfect
Tuesdays are Taco and Enchilada bar and Thursdays are Pasta Night... the absolute best deals in the valley. Live music every Friday and Saturday night on the patio with a very reasonably priced comfort food menu. I strongly recommend the pot roast!
Food was really good, everything. There were four of us all with different entrees. Service was outstanding. Cocktails reasonable. Highly recommend this place.
Service was slow and confused. The place was busy though. Lively. Noisy.
The music was wonderful & we had a fantastic evening!
Danced our legs off it was our kind of music
Good food Good service ..always friendly ..our go to place when we have visitors
We always love our Sat night prime rib events at PDCC...great food, bands, and excellent staff!!
Fish 'n chips were excellent and filet of sole also very good although i ordered without the sauce. French fries are always great. I liked the rice of previous years way more than this seasons new version.
wait staff & all employees very friendly, attentive & anxious to please.
lots of fun had on the patio with live music & dancing every Fri and Sat.
Good food and excellent service. Live band makes it a fun place to dine.
$4 upcharge for Kettle One.. Give me a break. Not much of a menu
Cactus Club is a great place for a decent meal and some great music.
The service was very slow, but more importantly, the food was not good. The menu was tiny.
We're ever disappointed with the food and service here. It's our go-to Saturday night spot for great prime rib dinners.
It is really fun at the Cactus Club on Fridays and Saturdays when they have a band outside.
We love to eat outside there and dance.
Ahi Tuna has huge portions. They have excellent Lemon Drop Martinis.
Very reasonable prices.
We frequent this neighborhood eatery with live music on the weekends. Very casual and great prime rib with all the fixins on Sat. night (Thanks Reggie!)....best deal around. And we love the staff (kudos to Martin, Kyle, Norma, Evelyn, Rusty etc.)...they're great!
We loved it here ...the food good but the music and atmosphere was the best ... we will come back !
Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, we were indoors and that changed the ambiance.
Love dining here....great food and staff; also very good prices!!
This app told us we could have a 4:45pm or 6pm reservation but not 5pm - there was plenty of seating available
The dining room had wood tables and the people were dressed as if they were lounging in their iving room.
The service was terrible. the manager apologized saying that the wait staff were new.
Not worth the drive.
My husband loved the fried chicken. Unfortunately,no vegetarian selections; I am a vegetarian. There was a wonderful band playing against a scenic background.
This was the BEST Easter Brunch EVER! Thank you, Cactus Club!! We will definitely do this again.
We have been a client for 3 years and look forward to many more. Staff are excellent!
The atmosphere is clean, full bar. But it's a little like an updated coffee shop. There was a live band on the patio, so that was nice because you hear them, but they weren't blasting out your conversation. The food was ok. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good. We both had the prime rib for $22.95 (I think). It was a little flat on flavor, it definitely needed to be seasoned. Our service was good. The wine list is very, very limited, we noticed locals brought their own bottle of wine. It seemed like a friendly place. I'd probably be willing to try it for lunch or breakfast.
Enjoyed the music, but couldn't see the performers because of the reflection on the glass in the doors when we moved inside. When we were outside before that, we were sitting at the end of the patio, and it was very windy and a cold wind at that. The shades were pulled down, so we still couldn't see the performers until they finally raised them about 1/2 hour after the band started performing. All in all, we went to see Jeannette and her band perform, but hardly had a chance to enjoy her music. I would go again, but hopefully things will have changed by then. I thought we had a reservation to sit outside on the patio, but when we got there, it was not specified that we were to sit on the patio, so we opted to sit at the end of it...way too windy!!!
