We ate here twice on our visit to Steamboat. We had such a nice dinner the first night, the adults went back without the kids. The menu was very good with a nice variety. Service was very friendly and professional. Great restaurant for a hotel.
Wonderful experience. Safe, friendly, relaxing. Great service!
Great news year experience. Great service, and great food. Needed a bit more "cabin" atmosphere. But overall great! Was thrilled to have nice place for holiday dining!
Olympic breakfast sandwich is fantastic and the breakfast tacos are also very good. They have a small menu, but these are top notch offerings for breakfast! We’d go here again for breakfast. Service was also very good!
The food wasn’t anything special. Sat by a noisy family. Prices were on the expensive side. Would definitely look at a different dining venue.
The manager was not able to take off our 20% VIP discount through Torian Pines package. We booked via Open Table and had our credentials...Four Peaks, Timbers and Torch and the Haymaker were all able to provide. I was concerned as this was the worst restaurant in Steamboat. It is located in a hotel and has the ambiance and low quality service and food of a typical hotel restaurant.
We had a great dining experience! Manhattan's to start - one of the best Manhattan drinks around. (Went back next day for another Manhattan) Lobster Mac and Cheese - huge lobster pieces - excellent. Artichoke and Asparagus Ravioli - new taste, loved it - still thinking about it! Chicken Caesar Salad - huge bites of chicken also fabulous. We would highly recommend - no complaints.
Limited vegetarian options and pricey. Bus service was quick to take plates without asking.
We were in town skiing, but were not staying at the Steamboat Grand. We found the Cabin on Open table and wanted to give it a try. Very gracious hostess and servers - and food was exactly what we wanted! Unfortunately, they did not have the bottle of wine we had originally ordered, but they had recommendations for others. We shared a generous serving of mussels (huge, by the way!) and salads. Lovey evening and our server, Conor, made it a pleasure.
The wine list doesn’t have years of bottles listed. We asked for one and after several minutes they said they didn’t have it. Asked for a second bottle and once again they didn’t have it. Water service was poor and we ended up with drinks instead of wine. Food was okay but service extremely poor and not knowledgeable.
Food is fantastic.
Our best meal in Steamboat Springs. Preparation and combination of flavors amazing.
Wine list substantial and service wonderful.
Menu was somewhat limited, but good food and service.
Unfortunately The Cabin is no longer a Fine Dining experience, I guess I knew that but wanted to give the restaurant another shot. The cocktails are very good but found the food over spicy overall. The server & hostess were very nice & attentive. Just different from years ago but I am guessing they changed things up for the current day tourist & what they want.
Great servers and food!
They really need a new chef. I went there because I saw their menu online and wanted Steak AuPoive. Everything from the dinner rolls through the meal tasted like it was reheated from a few days ago. The rolls were a lot older. Chef didn't do the brandy pepper sauce, just served an overcooked filet dry. When I told the manager it was the worst meal I can remember, they comped the cost of the steak. But that's not the point. I was away from home and wanted a good meal. Extremely disappointed. The manage did bring out a cup of something that she said the chef made for the steak but it smelled rotted so I didn't even try it- I was also finished with it anyway.
Nothing outstanding and some bland entrees. Look for other options slopeside.
Back ground noise level from music was a bit too loud.
There is enough noise from adjoining bar for competition already.
Food was just mediocre at best for the price. Service was poor and disjointed. I expected more from a restaurant at the Grand. Very disappointed.
Nice restaurant. Great feel and tasty food.
Food was good and the service was excellent. We plan to dine there again when we are in Steamboat Springs.
Food was fine and as expected for the hotel restaurant. Team was short staffed and in a mad huddle to keep up. It was in walking distance and very cozy.
We were hesitant to come to the Cabin based on reviews we had read. We chose the Cabin because we wanted to be close to the mountain base after watching the fireworks show on New Years Eve. The Cabin was warm and cozy after being outside for a few hours and the dining room decor is inviting with the birch trees and cabin feel yet it is nice and not rustic. The waiter was friendly and happy to see us. His service was very good and he was knowledgeable. The steaks were great and had wonderful flavor. This isn’t a five star, fine dining establishment but it is also not a casual chain restaurant and we were very pleased that the food quality, preparation and taste leaned more towards upscale. It was pricey but we expected that. We were happy with everything we ate, we had ribeye and filet steaks, Brussels sprouts, Caesar salads, drinks and wine. It was a very nice evening.
Based on the prior reviews I was skeptical to book a reservation at The Cabin. Since it was the only available restaurant on the mountain I took the leap though. Our server, Tinker, was fantastic! Despite the restaurant being completely full from New Year’s eve supper, she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
Spacey service, very mediocre food, inexperienced servers who struggled to open une wine for which we were charged the wrong price and although we spotted before we paid, we were told that the wine was coded wrong in the computer... how many others have not noticed the incorrect prices? No one was rude but nothing was great or right. We don’t need fancy but we don’t care to pay high prices for very mediocre food. File under: skip and find a Denny’s for a similar experience. Menu online is not correct. Fries were literally from a frozen bag. Ravioli and French dip were tasty. We laughed a lot due to the fact that it was just so bad that we could not control ourselves.
Great service—friendly and professional. Lots of inventive small plates.
Food was okay. Nothing outstanding. On a ski vacation.
They were out of the Brussels sprouts and the apple cobble (our dinner reservation was 1930).
The bar area is nice so I would go for drinks. I think they have a captive audience in the patrons staying there.
We went for Christmas dinner and was sat in the hall behind the restaurant by the back door. When given an explanation why, we were told it was due to the tables being reserved. I saw a min 6 tables that were never sat during our dinner. During our dinner in the hall, staff began tearing down the other tables as it appeared the put too many up. It was quite the fiasco. Ultimately the head manager came by and attempted to fix it. Although nice, the damage had been done. As for the food, it was OK. 70/pp for buffet is a little bit high for what we got but it is Christmas after all.
We made a reservation a month in advance for Christmas dinner. The dining room is lovely and has nice ambience; however, our family of five was seated in the hallway of the hotel! I assumed it was because they were completely booked, but throughout our stay the dining room was only 50-60 percent full. The youngest child with us was 8, so it’s not like we had a bunch of toddlers. I thought for the money we spent and the fact we had a reservation, it was extremely rude to put us in the hallway, a space which had absolutely no charm whatsoever.
Terrible food and way overpriced
Went for the xmas eve buffet. Food was only average, service was slow. Not the "special meal" they advertise for dining at the Grand.
High price for bad food. Ended up eating off the resort remainder of our stay.
Thanksgiving was fabulous! I loved the buffet style as we could enjoy each of our favorite dishes and share several desserts! Service was prompt, friendly and we loved our comfy table. Highly recommend skiing first and indulging second.
Very nice evening at the Cabin. Early season for the resort so quiet with an attentive staff. The menu is very good and offer a variety of options. The ravioli was excellent, the filet was done slightly more than request but still very good. The staff was not pushy and let us enjoy a drink at the bar before seating us, remember this was early season so not busy. We have visited this restaurant for years and it is comforatable but probably time to do a little remodel still a really cozy option for us.
Had a great waiter, food was spectacular!
Nice ambiance, very good caesar salad and great filet! Very good service, friendly staff. Thanks and will dine with you again.
Really cozy, very friendly service, and delicious food!
Our 1-star ratings are actually inaccurate, since we didn’t even get to eat here, but this system won’t let us give zero stars. This was definitely a ZERO STARS experience! We were staying in the hotel so we decided to eat there. We were seated, ordered drinks (which we never got) and asked our waiter a simple question—what the vegetable du jour was—-and he disappeared for 25 minutes and we decided to leave. There were only 4 tables of people in the whole place. If it had been busy, we would’ve been more patient, but this kid was a disaster. He finally reappeared as we were getting up to leave, but we told him we were out of there. Now we know why it was so easy to get a last-minute reservation there. We ended up having a lovely dinner at our fave Steamboat restaurant “Aurum”, so all is good.
Not sure what has happened to a place that in previous visits was terrific. What pushed us out of the door was a listed wine we ordered that wasn't cold so we were told we could wait an hour for it. They were out of 2 of their listed 6 appetizers, same with the listed draft beers - out. It was a Friday evening and they were setting up for their breakfast buffet behind us... at 6pm. We have been there before and couldn't wait to go back. That opinion has now changed. Hope management can reclaim what is now gone.
This was our first time in Steamboat. Everyone said we had to go to The Grand for a meal. My sister, niece and I had dinner on Saturday night. Very easy to make a reservation on Open Table that fit our schedule. The restaurant was quiet enough to have an enjoyable conversation. Our waitress was courteous and attentive. My niece had the Peach Quinoa salad; my sister the burger with a side of grilled vegetables; and I had the Flat Iron Steak. We all absolutely loved our meals, down to the homemade salad dressings. Everything was fresh and had a lot of flavor. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Steamboat. 👏👏👏
