The mushroom risotto was outstanding. Great texture and topped with sautéed baby spinach. A glass of Chardonnay and voila a perfect meal.
This was a most sensational dining experiences I have had in some time. In addition to the beautiful setting by the bay. The food was excellent. The best thing, however, was the service. Our sever, Aciel, was exceptionally good. He was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. I highly recommend C for the finest of dining experiences.
The service was above and beyond most places I have dined at.
Outstanding service. Food and ambiance mediocre
Great job of accommodating vegetarians...appreciated a great chiefs veggie meal...The Burrata salad was divine...great waitstaff. Love the ice cream sundae....lovely evening
Beautiful views, not crowded, and delicious food. For lunch the value was great, can't speak to the dinner prices.
We had breakfast at the C & it was a typical hotel breakfast. The host was welcoming and the atmosphere is lovely. The view is undeniably magnificent. We had eggs, which were quite satisfactory, but nothing spectacular.
Very well done overall. Food was very good, swordfish fantastic.
Good wine selection, tasty food and exceptional service.
Excellent food. Service was average, but would definitely come back.
The wait between our salad and main course was one hour and 15 minutes. Very slow service.
Great location and ambiance. Live music on the weekend adds to the beauty of the place.
Good salads but main course dishes were a let down in terms of taste for the price being charged. Patrons at the restaurant are very courteous and welcoming.
Valentines Day celebration, very noisy bar was disruptive to our dinner and couldn’t hear the lovely singer and violin due to the noise. Food lacked seasoning and no salt or pepper on the table to try to fix it. Fresh rose was lovely! Calamari appetizer was better than the entrees.
Had a great dinner in a beautiful room over looking the Bay!
Great dinner and service !
Excellent fish, sea bass and char
My husband and I had dinner here for our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff was fantastic, acknowledged our special occasion and were warm and friendly. The food was superb - my husband had the scallops and i had the special, halibut. It was a perfect evening!
Had NY steak, Abalone, and some kids menu. The steak tasted great, and mushroom, potato, and bean strings (or was it asparagus? My memory is confused by other meals during the trip) that came with the steak were also fantastic. Abalone was a bit too small potion. I kind of expected that though. There was soft live music by an excellent guitarist. His play was so nice, and made our dinner even better.
Nice location, friendly and efficient wait staff. Food was just average, Sword Fish over seasoned, too salty. Steak good, but over cooked from requested preference. Appetizer was super, Calamari, coked perfectly. Great Wine list and first rate bar. Amenable decor. Valet parking. Recommend.
Yummy cocktails with a great view, food and service! What more could you want?
Not what I expected. Felt like sitting in an ally way and the fish tacos inedible.
Food was good - not sensational. Black bass was excellent, but halibut (special) was disappointing. We thought the menu was too limited. The entertainment on the night of Jan 6, 2018 was fantastic, and made the evening much more enjoyable.
The live music by John (guitarist looper) Sherry was exquisite. The food was all around delicious and seafood was enviro sustainable. Server Diana was perfectly attentive. We will return 🥂
We had an excellent time celebrating a birthday. This place is phenomenal. What a great value and superb food, service, and ambiance.
NYE dinner cost almost $500 for a flight of champagne tastings and fixed price dinner. Dinner was average, decent food, but not worth the price at all. Probably is a better restaurant for normal occasions, would not recommend for NYE or any other nights with a fixed price menu.
I love this restaurant. It has great views of the ocean! You can't beat the views! I will definitely come back again. We tried lunch and breakfast there. They are delicious! I particularly love the breakfast. Good price too!
We were hoping for a little more of an upscale foodie lunch spot. Although he place was nice, clean, and updated, it lacked the little something extra we were looking for. The vibe was very much like a hotel restaurant (which it is so don't expect anything different!).
Food was decent but nothing exciting. The ceviche was fresh, steaks were slightly overcooked, and the fries/potatoes were warm at best.
Don't go with high expectations of a foodie type dining experience. It's your typical tourist hotel restaurant.
Wonderful lunch...great news, excellent menu, fantastic service. Loved the free valet parking. Great , comfortable, cosmopolitan and scenic spot in an otherwise crowded touristy area. Great service from everyone we encountered.
Elegant and great tasting, always a favorite hot spot
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes
Xmas dinner. $95 3 course prix fixe pp. food good but not exceptional. Tip at 20 % added regardless of number in party. Felt it was overpriced for the experience
Noise level was awful. Staff racing around doing their work adding to confusion. Not the most relaxing environment
We ate in the "C" this past Christmas Day as well as the following, Dec. 26th for breakfast, both days. Each time our dining experience was memorable, attentive and outstanding. Not merely a hotel dining room, the "C" provides an exceptional vista of Monterey Bay from virtually any corner in the generous space, and it offers a wealth of fine fare and service to boot. We were treated very warmly from our first approach to the host's stand and throughout our complete meal each day. Our servers were friendly and completely competent. Not once were we made to feel as though rushing through the experience would help to get the holiday moving along better. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. We look forward to returning to the "C" for additional dining in the future!
The C cancelled my reservation and called me a no show. The date and time were for a day in advance of the planned reservation. I am not a Time Traveler into the future. How could I have possibly been a no show if the date hasn’t happened yet!!!
My biggest disappointment is that I was really looking forward to a special dining experience for Christmas Day, and The C dropped my reservation. Perhaps they overbooked, but that’s unacceptable.
Lots of staff, Christmas Eve. Table was ready, quick service, but not rushed.
Excellent service and excellent food. The quality, flavor complexity and presentation of the meal was outstanding. Would return.
Enjoyed my 71st Birthday there.
Compared to other times, service was slow and we felt a bit neglected. We were the only ones seated on the patio with the best view of Monterey Bay. The swordfish sandwich we shared was tasty but a bit skimpy on the fish. We weren’t expecting fries so ordered sautéed fingerling potatoes, so ended up with fries and the other potatoes. The margarita was quite good. We will return again.
Our server Diane was amazing! She recommended a wonderful wine and overall made our dinner a wonderful experience.
Service was wonderful. Plates are large and we split everything from the calamari to the entry. Ingredients are fresh and prepared as requested. Always make time for 'the C' when visiting Monterey, sometimes twice. Thanks for another great meal.
