Loved it! Fabulous service and delicious food in a lovely setting with a beautiful view. Highly recommend.
Beautiful view, good food & great service! With Thur~sat live music, Can't be better!
Father’s Day brunch was spent here and it was lovely. We ordered off a menu of great and wide array of choices. Everyone was happy. Staff was very sweet, both at the bar and in the restaurant.
Food was prepared perfectly (i.e., med rare steak). And the guitar music was exceptionally pleasant.
Limited menu. Need more seafood and pasta dishes. Food arrived cold and not fresh from the grille. Veggies limp. Overpriced. Food needs a wow factor for the price its asking.
Visiting Monterey for my Birthday, had delicious dinner at C. The largest duck breast I've ever seen, with smoky skin. Farro with minced veggies accompanied, as well as mushrooms and a huckleberry sauce. Just amazing. It is in Intercontinental Hotel, on the water in Monterey.
This place is absurdly overpriced. The food is mediocre and the service is at the level of Denny's. The interior is poorly designed with lots of void space. Almost feels like they ran out of tables and had to spread around whatever they could afford. And have I mentioned that it's absurdly overpriced? The two-course meal for two with no dessert and two glasses of the least expensive wine at this pace cannot be $170+. It's bizarre that they're still in business. Do not waste your time and money going there!
Great food and service in a beautiful atmosphere on the water. Chef Matt and his team are amazing.
The view of Monterey bay is gorgeous. The guitarist was excellent. But we had gone to Montrio Bistro last night and the bar for food was extremely high. All the food was excellent in a traditional sort of way. Very tasty and well prepared.
Expetacular food, very delicate and flavoured ! Can not miss the scallops !!!
And the staff is great ! Made us feel special all dinner.
All was great food ambiance view location- great - one tiny issue is other than bartender, all servers were a bit stiff and stilted- seemed anxious
Beautiful evening there with friends for a quiet dinner. Food delicious and wholesome! Modern, clean decor right on the ocean. Couldn't ask for a better evening!
Extremely fresh ingredients. Most flavorful Monterey Bay calamari I’ve ever had in Monterey. Creative desserts artfully prepared. Great view of the water. On the downside, very pricey. Kids Mac and cheese looked like Kraft Mac and cheese but not prepared properly. They allowed a substitution of a nice bowl of berries instead of broccoli without an up charge so made up for it.
We have delicious seafood, and a birthday celebration was made memorable when the restaurant presented my husband with a fabulous desert on the house. Excellent service, and obviously the view of Monterey Bay is spectacular.
No points for reservations. Food is expensive and portions are small. Paying for the view and comfort of a premium hotel environment.
Amazing food and great ambiance! Would definitely recommend for special occasions.
Excellent fish and salads. Beautiful views of the bay and great location near cannery row. Service was prompt and friendly . Both the seabass and the halibut were excellent. A little pricey but the quality of food was excellent.
Above and beyond service, excellent food and great views. Gets no better!
Mother’s Day Brunch
This was our first time dining with you and it won't be our last. The service and food was great especially loved the oysters! Lots of good choices on the lunch menu. Our waiter was awesome too!
Food – 5 Service – 5 Setting – 5
I eat wild fish as much as possible. I took my mom here for Mother’s Day and ordered three entrees. Each piece of fish was cooked just right so the skin was crispy, the meat was flavorful with browning, and the inside was moist. The Arctic Char had the fatty goodness with a mild salmon fresh fish flavor. The Monterey Bay Pacific Line caught salmon was outstanding. When I eat this fish, I feel like I am extending my life span AND it is delicious with high fat, flaky texture, and skin that is better than any fish. The Sea Bass was a large portion for the price and delicious because they cut it thinner than normal and it allowed the highest fat content fish to pick up a wonderful sear and salty crusting. I cannot wait to come back and try their steak. When I ask for no starch and extra veggies, I was more than joyful to see a lot more veggies, which was great because they know how to make cauliflower sing of earth and sweetness.
After having gone to many great restaurants in Los Angeles, New York City, and New Orleans, I have to say, this is some of the best service I have ever received. Everyone was real and not faking a standard that the restuartant needs to portray. I like to get to know my servers and enjoy their stories. I learned that May 10th is the special Mother’s Day of Mexico. It was fun to hear about Aciel’s mom and family. He was enjoyable, funny, and very professional. When I asked him questions, he seemed genuinely interested in the conversation but, when I was in a conversation with my mom, he walked on by rather than interrupting. Our 2008 Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut, Champagne, was poured into elegant flutes and there was never an empty glass. Somehow, he made it last longer than I would have expected too. Magic!
Inside is smooth and modern with ocean hews. It is not dark but it is also not bright and overly lit. It was elegant but not stuffy and the chairs were actually comfortable.
Great location, beautiful view, friendly staff, would definitely return for another evening!
We sat outside on a Friday afternoon and had small bites from the Bar menu. Excellent views, and the duck confit with grits is out of this world. Will be back for more of that!
The view is very nice. The food is inferior, portions very small and overpriced. The service was non-existent.
Service and ambience were excellent. Disappointed they didn’t have a brunch menu. I rated the food as good because of the fries. They were excellent. The clam chowder was bad, lacked flavor and a weird consistency, perhaps it was leftover from another day? The fish tacos needed seasoning. As I stated the fries saved the rating from going any lower.
This was our first Anniversary Special date meal. The atmosphere was great 4 the occasion, but, we didn’t feel it was Special enough for what we expected.
Great food and service. I had sea bass, well prepared. Guitar player entertaining. Recommend.
We both had a rose wine that was quite good. I had ceviche, a good portion with great fish combination including octopus. My husband had the calamari appetizer. Our server opened the umbrella for us which was needed due to my bout with skin cancer. The overall service was all right.
There is a beautiful view of the water from all tables. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything was great about the restaurant, just one caveat, I had an unfortunate encounter with a stone in my entree. The staff was very quick to acknowledge, replace and comp the meal. The manager was very prompt and concerned - the incident was handled professionally and quickly, and we were assured that this would be brought up to the chef.
Other than that, once it was all resolved, it was a pleasant meal. I'm confident that that incident will be resolved going forward and I would recommend the restaurant.
Great food and service! A+!
One of the best places on Cannery Row for excellent food and service. We've been here many times before and will come back again.
We had an absolutely fabulous evening and dining experience. The food was fantastic and the staff was incredible. Friendly but not intrusive. We had the ceviche and my wife had the swordfish and I had the New Zealand snapper special. Unbelievable. Delicious doesn’t do it justice. They comped us a sundae with handmade ice cream that was to die for. Fantastic live music and complimentary valet parking too! Loved it!!!
Beautiful views from the dining room. Food was good, creative, ax nd nicely presented. Not a lot of enthusiasm from staff.
Outstanding seafood dishes and desserts. Wonderful view of the bay.
The food was fantastic. I especially loved the abalone appetizer. I can’t say enough about it. Presentation was also wonderful. I had a New York steak for diner. It was prepared just the way that I asked for it. And I would be remiss if I did not mention desert. The Clement Sundae tasted as good as it looked. That is saying a lot.
The only negative was the table service. Plates were removed from the table very quickly. It wasn’t that they were trying to hurry us out of the restaurant, but it could have been taken like that. At times you had to protect your plate if you were almost done, but still grazing. But this was a minor problem in a otherwise great meal.
Best experience I could ask for from a restaurant for a birthday/anniversary experience. We LOVED this place, from the wine recommendation to the live music to the food (of course)
Excellent service and even better food. We stayed at hotel and also got discount on food. Drinks were amazing. We had great family time enjoying food in ocean front table
The mushroom risotto was outstanding. Great texture and topped with sautéed baby spinach. A glass of Chardonnay and voila a perfect meal.
This was a most sensational dining experiences I have had in some time. In addition to the beautiful setting by the bay. The food was excellent. The best thing, however, was the service. Our sever, Aciel, was exceptionally good. He was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. I highly recommend C for the finest of dining experiences.
The service was above and beyond most places I have dined at.
