the C restaurant + bar Ratings and Reviews
Waiter was inattentive. My green beans were very tough. He never asked once how the food was. The waiter was very difficult to understand. He then chased us down after we left to accuse me of not signing the credit card receipt, even though he was holding the signed copy.
Love sitting by the ocean having a great lunch! The burgers were delicious and we appreciated the option of a good salad instead of fries. The citrus vinegrette was tangy and tasty without being sweet. Service was good. I did have to ask for water. We will return!
A great location and experience were brought way way down to disappointing by the pork chop that Wes served very not cooked thru, sent back, then returned(same chop) so we’ll done, it was too tough to eat.
Complaint went unresolved as there was no concession.
On another not, a $24 ChiChi was ordered with no vodka, but no change in price of drink.
The view and entertainment (acoustic guitar) were superb. But it stopped there
Wife and I were in Monterey to see the Aquarium. Read some very nice reviews re C restaurant so we made a reservation. Great location over looking the water. We arrived a little early so we had a drink in the bar. When our table was ready, we were shown to our table. Our waiter, Aciel, was very knowledgeable and gave us a few recommendations. I ended up with the Chilean Sea Bass and the wife had the Duck Breast. Both were outstanding. If we're ever back in Monterey, we will definitely return.
Nice variety on the breakfast menu, attentive but not smothering service, reasonably generous portion sizes. The kitchen accurately produced medium rare steak, medium poached eggs, attractive presentations of each of our plates. Everyone was pleased with their orders and we had a good time together - a sign that the staff did a good job all around.
Took the gf here for lunch on our drive down the Pacific Coast Highway. The Bloody Mary was amazing! We shared a Caesar salad. Very nice and fresh. I ordered the Kampachi Sashimi with radish, miso and yuzo! Light and tasty. She had the Pacifica Swordfish sandwich. Way out of her norm but pleasantly delightful. The view overlooking the bay was magnificent! The service was lacking. I think midway through our meal, there was a change in our waiter. Overall, it was a good experience!
Bonus: Since this place is at the Intercontinental Hotel. They have complimentary valet and parking for up to three hours. Just make sure the wait staff validates it when you pay.
Duck breast was very tough, did not eat much of it. Kudos to bartender - great drinks. Nice live music playing. We asked to sit by window but was told that table was reserved, yet no one sat at it while we were there. The young lady who seated us was not friendly or accommodating.
They only had one server so the actual service suffered but the server compt a desert and gave a discount. She was excellent but stretched a bit thin. Some of the support staff need more training. The place is beautiful, the food excellent. The servers assistant was also excellent
This restaurant located right on the ocean in the Clement Intercontinental on cannery Row in Monterey Ca is just beautiful with a fantastic view of the ocean! Can't be beat for view, service (the servers were just so professional and nice) , the food is very good. I highly recommend the white corn ravioli (actually the raviolis were filled with Parmesan cheese in a brown butter sauce) . The rosemary bread was fresh and excellent.
The only downside was that it is quite pricey. So be prepared but excellent place for a special occasion like an anniversary which we celebrated andcthey gave us a complimentary anniversary dessert!
We arrived early for our reservation, byt were promootly seated. However, we were disappointed in the lack of attention in the service and quality of food. We had to ask for everything. The bus person brought 4 plates for us when he brought bread; there were 5 of us. Three of us ordered the cioppino; the crab, what little there was of it, was cooked down so much we could hardly find any! Very disappojnting for the reviews I had read before going. We had a better meal at the restaurant in the Monterey Bay Aquarium!
We had a fabulous lunch in a beautiful restaurant with a world class view of Monterey Bay. It's fantastic. Our server made a mistake with our order and offered the steak sandwich that was prepared instead of the swordfish that ordered for free. Natalie graciously accepted and was not disappointed. Thanks for a lovely time and a wonderful experience. We will be back.
