Dinner 5:00pm - 8:00pm
March 1 - September 30
June 1 - September 15
Our family's experience on Christmas Eve was excellent and met all of our expectations. I would do this again. And definitely pass the good word along to friends.
The light display through the gardens made our experiene all the more magical.
Food was excellent!
Butchard dining room is especially nice at Christmas with all the decorations. But summer is lovely too, lunch on the deck or tea in the afternoon. Food is fantastic. Servers are friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.
Thank you for another wonderful Christmas season special dinner!!
The food was superb, as I've come to expect. Service was excellent, wine selection interesting, and both our wines were fabulous. A lovely, memorable dinner!
I enjoy it the afternoon is great option, when visiting the gardens. The service was great and very friendly staff.
Afternoon tea - good value for the quantity. We found it very convenient to make a reservation between 2 & 4 pm. Parking was a breeze and eliminated the insane line up for park entry during Christmas lights season.
Xmas at Butchart is always a treat & The Dining Rm is also a family tradition- never a let-down!
Butchart at Christmas is simply amazing. Taking the time for dinner at the dining room after admiring the lights, riding the carousel, and going for a skate makes for a truly fantastic experience. The dining room offers exceptional service, creative menu, and sophisticated ambiance. Try for a table by the fireplace for extra coziness.
We enjoyed everything about the tea. The food was really good, the room is lovely and there were festive touches everywhere. Of course being able to enjoy theChristmas lights coming on in the garden at the end of the tea was lovely too. We always used to go to the Empress but with all the changes there we don't enjoy going there anymore. The Butchart Garden tea was well worth the price as well.
Beautiful afternoon Christmas tea -- lovely table setting, delicious goodies and wonderful ambience.
We have loved both times we have been there for Afternoon Tea. We recommend over the Empress all the time.
Strange to be told eating English Triffle at the beginning of the meal is the English way. Never heard that, not even from many English friends! Nevermind, it was delicious. The egg salad, tuna salad and chicken salad sandwiches were disappointing for such a special menu. Superior staff, always so very kind and patient!
We enjoyed taking an out of town friend for tea. It wasn’t crowded and we were able to eat at a leisurely pace for a nice change. With snow on the ground, it was truly a winter wonderland to behold outside.
The french glass doors in the dining room, next to the entrance where a table is placed should have heavy drapery, in the winter, to minimize the cold through the glass.
Love the place and the food. If have young children (who are very active or noisy) I will not recommend this place. It is family friendly but better with children 8 and older. Very quiet.
I love the food, and the view. We found the price a bit pricey for the amount of food we had but still I will recommend this place 100 percent over The Empress Hotel tea. We went to the Empress a day before we went to the Gardens. The Hotel is beautiful but the area for tea is tiny and offers pretty much the same the Gardens offer at an exorbitant price of $75 per person. We only pay around $35 per adult and around $25 for children at the Butcher Gardens and we have afterwards a great beautiful place to walk around and to enjoy ourselves.
This evening met all my expectations. The lights were outstanding the food and service were excellent. I would recommend this place to all.
Danielle was our server and was very attentive. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and tailoring things to our dietary needs. The ling cod was prepared to perfection! Great ambiance, food, and service!
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Great food lovely atmosphere our favourite place to go
I love traveling to Victoria at Christmas and Dinner at Buchart is the icing on the evening.
I never get disappointed thanks to chef Travis Hansen who is a magician in the kitchen. He also has a great team in the kitchen. Friendly professional service in the dinning room. A must visit...
Old style gentility and service with wonderful menu choices that were delicious! The mushroom bisque was superb!
One of my favorite places to visit. I love the views of the gardens and the atmosphere of afternoon tea!
Excellent food and service. Great flavors
The food was amazing. Serving size were great. Ambiance, evening, with holiday lights all around is breath taking. My only critique is that i wish they would use fancy tea dishes instead of plain white. Would just make the experience perfect!
Lovely! Enjoyed the Christmas festivities and a quiet family dinner
It was a very nice evening and certainly met our expectations
While the food was nicely prepared, we found it to be somewhat overpriced, considering you also have to pay to get into the Garden.
One of our local favorites. We come here often and especially enjoy it during the Christmas season.
Excellent! This was one of our best dining experiences...and we eat out (upscale) quite a bit. Nearly everything on the menu is, or can be made, gluten free. I thought this would be a good meal to cheat on, and it was. The perogie pasta was perfect and the French onion soup was delicious. We split a salmon entree, and the salmon was done to perfection.. moist and tender. The veggies were also delicious. The gardens were lit for the holidays, and we were seated by a window to enjoy the view. Just two or three tables away was the fireplace with a modest fire, not too hot for anyone. Quiet conversation surrounding us, the service was impeccable, warm and caring. And the wine was very good too. Thank you Buchart Gardens, for a most enjoyable evening
The appetizers and main courses my friend and I had were wonderful. My Manhattan was unusual as it seems cinnamon was the spice of the day and put into the drink. Unfortunately I think the bartender believed cinnamon was wonderful in more than a Manhattan. My hot buttered rum also had cinnamon and a cinnamon stick in the drink. I realize the bar might not consider someone who ordered a Manhattan might also order hot buttered rum thus the cinnamon in both drinks. The rum drink was over seasoned with the spice making it unpleasant to drink. I ordered the eggnog tart for dessert. Unfortunately it too was not a hit. I could faintly tell eggnog was used more because of the subtle taste of nutmeg. The dessert was not tasty and I would not recommend ordering it.
A wonderful place but very expensive. Too expensive. Rib eye was good but not much with it , just a big piece of meat with an egg on top. Vegetables would be nice especially for the cost of the meal. Lovely dessert of apple tart.
Although the food was tasty, two of us felt our meals were not warm enough. Mine had a sauce for the meat, and it would definitely have tasted better hot rather than lukewarm. The waitress was very late coming back to check on us, so it was too late to send it back to get heated up.
A beautiful night travelling through the twelve days of Christmas in the gardens and then a lovely ending to the evening with a truly delicious dinner. Service was genuine and attentive. Food was spectacular. Special memories
We have been dining at Butchart Gardens at this time of the year for the past 15 years. We have never been disappointed with either the food, the service or the amazing views out over the holiday lighted gardens. Friday night was no exception. From the moment we stepped inside the original Butchart home foyer the mood was set with tasteful piano music and a blazing fireplace. We were seated at the windows facing the lawns, Italian and French gardens, all festive with lights and decorations. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and obviously loved her work... she has been serving at the gardens for 15 years. Our meal was perfectly prepared and presented. Each of us had a different entree... salmon, beef tenderloin and the pork chop. While ordering our entrees, we were informed of a delicious apple tart dessert which takes an hour to prepare and bake which we ordered in time to enjoy with a generous serving of vanilla bean ice cream. A festive evening with 1st class dining, service, atmosphere and company. See you next year!! Merry Christmas!!
Christmas tea was very enjoyable!
I made a poor food choice.
Very pricey, especially after garden entrance fee.
Worth it for the unique Christmas garden experience
We very much enjoyed our meals. Very tasty and well presented.
Dinner during the Christmas Season is a tradition I do with my daughter , in a beautiful calm festive atmosphere, where we can have quality time with expectational food and service.
Very special for the two of us!!
