   Very crowded, in the area where we were seated right down the far end of the restaurant. It was difficult to have a conversation due to the noise level not helped by the crying baby seated at the table next to us.

   My mom and I both eat gluten free, and usually gluten free food is crumbly. The food in the afternoon tea wasn’t crumbly at all. As well we were able to enjoy the exact same menu but as a gluten free version.

    High Tea was a great experience. The food was super fresh and delicious and the ambiance was wonderful. We enjoyed a loose tea blend with lemon, liquorice & stevia that had the perfect amount of bite while being very refreshing. I definitely would go back again.

    Having Tea at Butchart Gardens was a wonderful treat to ourselves. Our server was very sweet and friendly. The ambiance and view were lovely. The assortment of sandwiches and pastries, along with the trifle and scone were very tasty and in some cases quite unique! I would definitely come there again. Good value for the price.

    We went for Mothers Day Afternoon Tea and everything was amazing - from the service to the location to the food and drinks. The Kir Royale was a great start! We had a celiac in our party and her menu & food looked and probably tasted EXACTLY the same as ours, which made her feel very included and was very much appreciated. She said it was better than the afternoon tea at the Ritz in London! We will totally be going back & would recommend it to anyone.

    I took my mother to Butchart's for the mother's day tea. We were the first table in there, it was wonderful, our server was an angel, and we just had the best time. It was the perfect day ! Thank you again for the wonderful experience !

    The food is mainly so-so. The lemon custard and a couple of the sandwiches were good, the tea was excellent, the rest not so much. The conservatory is lovely and our server was friendly and informative. The experience was pleasant, too bad most of the food did not match the service and the place. Butchart Gardens deserves better.

    Amazing!!!!! The high tea was exceptional, the room was picturesque. The food was delicious and service was spot on! It was pouring rain but the day was perfect, do not miss out on this when in Victoria.

    My daughter, who lives in Seattle, recommended the Butchart Gardens for afternoon tea when we visited. We’re in Victoria with friends and made a reservation. Unfortunately, I screwed up the reservation, so when we arrived we were told we didn’t have a reservation, but to come back in 45 minutes, which we did. The ambiance is great, the staff friendly and helpful, and the tea treats were excellent! We’ll be back!

    We had a wonderful experience at Butchart Gardens high tea. The food was wonderful, our waitress was friendly and cheerful. The view of the gardens from our table was beautiful. The chef even adjusted the servings for one in our party because of food allergies. I would highly recommend the high tea at Butchart Gardens!

    I brought friends from Ontario with a baby. The staff were wonderful with her and provided a high chair and well thought out seating. We had High Tea. Fantastic diversity in food and tea. Would recommend and will come again.

    If you are a "foodie" you will appreciate the skill and flavour that goes into the Afternoon Tea. If you aren't you will just notice how delectable every single bite is! The Tea selection is unique; I had the rose tea, it was divine! Staff are very knowledgeable & attentive, the setting perfect. Highly recommend!

    Very enjoyable hi tea but when my wife and I booked the reservation They were Advertising on their website that they were serving lunch at this time. We were a bit surprised when we got there and we found out they were only serving high tea.

    It was nice. However, our server Elizabeth was a little abrupt. She asked if we had any food allergies, I responded by telling her that I had dairy sensitivities. She then said I don't think we can accommodate you, we need 24hrs in advance. When I reserved online there was no indication of that at all, in fact it indicated that there were dairy free and vegan options available. Nothing about a 24hr notice required. Oh well maybe she was having a bad day. We tipped her well anyway.

    Visiting Buchart Gardens was a primary purpose of our trip to Victoria. We were going to do the Empress tea, but after reading reviews we opted for the tea at Buchart Gardens and were not disappointed. We booked online and the earliest available time was at 2:45, but they were able to get us in earlier. The food was great, and there was a lot of it- we pretty much skipped dinner. We each ordered a kir royale to accompany the tea. We sat in the sunroom, surrounded by orchids and other plants, sunlight streaming through the windows and a view of the flowers outside. I wasn’t crazy about the tea I selected, but that was a matter of personal taste. Perfect way to end a trip to the gardens!

    We had an amazing view of the garden and bay. Was an amazing experience. The food was perfect! The quiche were a little piece of heaven as well as the sausage rolls. A must do!

    Beautiful venue but to be honest the food was disappointing. The sandwiches looked sloppy and I was expecting more scones and fewer desserts which were overly sweet. Would have liked more of a balance between the sweet and savoury. The teas however were beautiful.
