The Bungalow Lakehouse
It was an amazing experience. Excellent customer service and awesome food. We all had a blast. We will be back again soon.
This place is what you dream of in being a local one of a kind neighborhood rendezvous bar/restaurant. If you want energetic vibe there's the humongous sports and live band area with an outdoor patio... if you want conversation with business associates or close friends try the cozy bar with sofas, fabulous bartenders, and small tables straight ahead.... and if you want restaurant dining in a quiet atmosphere go to the right for the dining room. Everything for everyone. Love this place. Hope it never goes away.
We love coming, to the lake house and always enjoy the service and the meal.
I think however it's time to change out the carpets in the front room. This, however, won't deter us from enjoying the great food and wonderful service.
The service was very good but the food was underwhelming.
Beth, our server, was excellent. She was friendly and knowledgeable when asked questions about various dishes. The restaurant itself is very quiet and peaceful and our conversations could be heard by all at the table. Will definitely be returning.
Always an enjoyable place for dinner. Food and service were excellent.
My son and I went here for the first time. Brent, our server, was very attentive and personable. The food selection was good. Ambiance was a bit outdated. We got the pot stickers which were delicious. The entrees, Chicken Picata and Steak & Cheese, were nothing to write home about. Fairly bland. We did not order dessert as a result. Price for those 3 things, no drinks, was $50.
We had a great st Patrick ‘s day dinner. It was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. And not too loud for us to all talk.
server was great. Food was solid. Dining room smells like cigar smoke
From the minute we arrived, service was as expected, excellent. Our server was exceptional and made sure our dinner was enjoyed. We were not rushed at all and was able to sit, relax and enjoy our dinners and just talking with friends. I do have to say though although that we were sitting at the large corner booth near the double door and it was very cold sitting there. Almost ate with my coat on. Next time will request a booth or table further back into the room.
My wife and I both had a bowl of gumbo and I have to say, this was the best gumbo I have had outside of New Orleans. Most people don’t spice it nearly enough and leave it bland and disappointing. That is not the case here, this was spiced almost perfectly and was absolutely delicious. I followed that up with scallops and my wife had salmon. Both dishes were cooked properly and tasted very good, the side vegetables were also a nice compliment. Overall they did a very nice job, start to finish.
Tried it for the first time for a Valentine’s date. I have to be gluten free and their GF menu was extremely limited. I was excited to splurge and order the filet, but it came out dry and flavorless - without any seasoning at all - not even butter, salt and pepper, and the same with the asparagus. Gluten free doesn’t have to be flavor and sauce free! After asking the waitress who wasn’t sure if I had options, the manager stopped by and was kind enough to bring me the one sauce option that was safe, but at that pojnt, my filet was cool, and quite dry. The waitress was sweet, but not knowledgeable about GF options and seemed overwhelmed. I saw the regular menu, there were so many options that could have been easily adjusted to be GF! After spending a significant amount of money, we were not impressed.
As soon as we walked in we were hit with an overwhelming smell of cigarettes. It was inescapable even in the dining room. Average dining experience but based on the smell alone we won’t be back.
Valentines Day Dinner
Wish the cigar lounge was bigger - but other than that - the food & service was awesome!
Valentines Day dinner was great! Went early. Very quiet. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Thanks for a great evening!
I ordered a second drink and it was never delivered. I requested a booth table and the hostess said they were all reserved and they clearly were not as there were two empty booth tables the entire time we were there.
Always reliable food and service, always a positive experience. Only recommendation would be to revamp the dessert selections. They no longer serve the banana split. When we asked our server why, she said she was not sure as it was always popular.
Everything was spot on and my bison burger was perfectly cooked and delicious .
Yes, I would highly recommend the Bungalow as a nice get away for groups looking for a pleasant and quiet place to meet and enjoy a great meal. Thank you for the service and smiles. :)
One of the best steaks of my life.
We arrived early, so we were alone. The food was very good and the staff were friendly.
Had a reservation for 9:15. Get there and the host tells us they are closing down but we can go in the noisy sports bar section and order. No thanks we came to talk and have dinner. We went in the restuarant bar section anyway. Matt the bar tender said we were welcome to grab a both and he would serve us. He did a great job. Saved the night
The dining room staff was excellent. Samantha was our server and she was great. The other major bonus is the place has an excellent sports bar and a separate cigar bar as well besides the main dining. Real gem
We arrived just after a larger group was seated in another room. Our waiter disappeared for periods of time, I assume to help with the larger group. The waiter lost sight of our drinks needing refreshed and we had to approach the hostess to ask for our check. We arrive early- 12210 for our 1230 reservation and were seated promptly. We had a 2pm meeting and had to ask for the check to arrive on time. Our food did arrive quickly. Willing to give the place another try as I think the service was off due to the group, or being short of staff.
A very nice evening with friends at the BL. Hubs is hard to please & he was quite happy with the prime rib. I had the cheese quesadilla with salsa & guacamole - really tasty & the leftovers the next day were even more flavorful.
Others at the table had the tuna & raved about how nicely it was done.
It's a bit of a trek for us - 20 minute drive instead of the 5 minutes to Reston Town Center, but totally worth it at least a few times a year.
Good food, attentive service & nice ambiance - we'll be back.
It was my first time visiting The Bungalow Lake house. Friends recommended it to me and since we were looking for a place to celebrate the New Year's holiday, I made a reservation. I did not know what to expect-My friends told me that the pizzas were delicious, the drink menu extensive, and that they had a vegetarian options on their menu. That was important to me since I am a vegetarian. I ordered the Tuscan veggie wrap (any sandwich can be made into a wrap) and had a side of sweet potato fries. My meal was excellent. My friends (none of whom are vegetarians) enjoyed their meals as much as I did. The atmosphere was equally as good as the food. Weather we were eating in the "main" dining section, or sipping drinks at the bar, everything was perfect, from the decor, to the lighting, and everything in between. The night of our reservation, there was a DJ and a New Year's balloon drop. My husband and I are planning to come back in September to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We are planning to sit on the terrace and enjoy the lovely lake front view when the temperature is a bit warmer. My friends recommended The Bungalow Lake House to me. I now know why. After my first visit, I already recommended it to others.
Went to this restaurant for New Years Eve dinner. Overall a very good experience. Server was outstanding and very attentive. Prices were affordable despite it being a holiday. The happy hour menu was available despite it being. Holiday. Good restaurant with good service.
Excellent service, excellent food as always
This was our first time dining at The Bungalow Lakehouse and we will definitely be back!
There were numerous patrons. Food came out quickly and hot. 4 star is only because I only had appetizers, soup, and salad.
Servers were particularly patient with members of our group of 7 showing up at different times and staying a long time. Very nice for large group. Choices for everyone. Nice presentation and tasty.
First time to dine here and we were very pleased. I had the Salmon with risotto and was fantastic. My wife had the seafood Alfredo, my son had the crab cake entree and my daughter had the burger. All were thoroughly enjoyed. We’ll definitely dine here again:
The food is consistently wonderful and the service attentive without being intrusive. Will return again and again!
Went away for a week and was so glad to get back there for some great food!
This restaurant came highly recommended because of the outdoor seating. It was October when we visited so we sat inside. It was quite noisy. The waiter was very nice and was trying but was very busy. I had to ask for the same requests several times. The food was good but I thought overpriced for what we ordered. I'm sure it's lovely sitting outside on the patio in warmer weather but we sat inside and the decor was extremely outdated and the restaurant was very dark. We will probably try it again when we can enjoy some cocktails out on the patio and give this place a second chance
Great food, great atmosphere and wonderful service
Food was FANTASTIC. Decor nice, but I don't prefer big screen TVs. Would love quiet atmosphere. Servers mostly friendly, but busy. We had to request service numerous times. Great manager...friendly, humble...brought our food to the table and served us several times. If you want excellent food at great prices and can tolerate TVs, worth a try, for sure!
A group of work ladies enjoying lunch. We chose to sit outside on the back porch, which was perfect. Not sure how it would be at night with people smoking on the other end. The inside bar area is very large with pool tables, darts and several tv's. There is a nicer indoor seating area that would be nice for a more formal setting away from the bar.
We found this restaurant on open table after a long day of travel with my mom and husband Taking a chance we drove the four miles from our hotel for dinner. We were seated in the bar which was ok with us. We had Filet Mignon with asparagus and mashed potoatoes. A perfect meal! My husband had a burger which was good and Spring Rolls. The waiter was excellent and even gave us a complimentary dessert to take back to the hotel with us.
Would highly recommend this place!
