Great meal and meeting the owner, Harry, was a treat.
When bread arrived it had hair attached. They apologized and that’s all they offered for such a disgusting situation. I have worked at many restaurants and if this happened we would have offered some type of compensation such as a desert. Not at this restaurant!
Food was mediocre for the price.
This is the third time we have celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Bull Ring. We are not big beef eaters so on the special occasion when we do get steaks we don't want to be disappointed. Bull Ring never fails us. Side dishes are very good. Highly recommend the rhubarb/peach and rhubarb/raspberry pies. They are scrumptious.
This was our first visit to this iconic steakhouse and we were not disappointed...much. The service including the hostess and each member of the serving staff was terrific..efficient, friendly and engaging. The option of indoor or outdoor seating was available, but the ambiance of the steakhouse is best felt inside. The wine list was interesting and very reasonably priced for the location.
The steaks were excellent..both the petite filet and the bone-in version were butter tender, flavorful and presented with sizzling butter accompaniment. They were the stars of the meal. Other courses were fairly average to slightly underwhelming. For starters, we chose the shrimp cocktail and clam chowder..shrimp were fresh and generous, but smothered in cocktail sauce. The clam chowder was very average and a bit disappointing. The house salad was generous; the Caesar salad was ruined by overly garlicky dressing. Au Gratin potatoes were cheesy but not as creamy or saucy as advertised. The steamed broccoli could not have been plainer.
With the steak as incredible as it was, I hope we just picked our starters and sides poorly. We will definitely return.
Been coming here every year, for 10 years, for our wedding anniversary. Super yummy steaks with all the fixins! We look forward to taking friends and family to the Bull Ring because the atmosphere and the food is expertly prepared.
Simply OUTSTANDING! Food selection, Service, Beverage possibilities and quality.
We had 4 different entrees and everyone was pleased. Mussels were excellent and salad was excellent - surprising for a beef restaurant! Only disappointment were sides - creamed spinach lacked much taste and mac and cheese lacked cheese. But overall we were more than satisfied.
In Santa Fe after traveling to Wheeler’s Peak and stopped in for dinner. Have eaten at many of the top steakhouses in US and I would rate Bull’s Ring in top 10. Food was excellent as well service.
This was our first time here. We knew it was pricey but didn't mind since we were celebrating an anniversary. Food and service were excellent and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We were happy to have some food to take home but I was disappointed to see they use styrofoam take-out containers which do not degrade in the landfill.
Wonderful classic atmosphere, always a consistently enjoyable dining experience!!
For our special occasion our waiter as well as support staff made our night even more special with the little extras! Great Job!!
Consistent and Special! High quality food, service and environment.
Food was great. Bring your appetite, as the portions are large.
This was a special day for us as it was our anniversary. The facility was very clean and very friendly staff. The only issue I have with this visit was my total bill was $198 for two steaks, au gratin potatoes, coconut shrimp and two glasses of wine. That seems very expensive and outrageous. Will find another rplace to dinner for anniversary as $200 for 6 items is way to much.
Excellent steak, great meal, very nice wine list. The Escargot and Mushroom Caps are a must. The filet was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our wait staff was spot on.
Lovely quiet place for relaxing dinner!
Steaks yummy and service good.
Second time there and will go back next time we’re here .👍❤️
A tasty steak for lunch at a reasonable price, place was empty but it could just be the time of year for this town.
Excellent service and ambiance after a busy day of sightseeing! Filets, and shoestring potatoes were superb! A truly memorable dining experience!!
Service was amazing!! Food was great! Got the RSVP I needed.
Always good food and service. The steak sandwich always delivers.
Reminiscent of the classic, old world gentleman’s supper club. We had a large round booth which was nice to have and service was very attentive. We found the food good but not great; a $45 steak should be perfect and it was average. Everything was a la cart so dinner for two with a cocktail each and no dessert came to just under $200. For that I expect to be wowed and sadly I was not. While it was a fine dinner, the restaurant did not live up to the hype.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff! Owner is so kind & inviting. Food was cooked to perfection and timely serving as well. Clean and comforting atmosphere!
When we walked in for our reservation, the hostess was very cold and unfriendly, We went to our table and someone came by and threw some vegetables in front of us - no welcome or any thing. We did have a menu and the lest expensive item on the menu was almost $50. After sitting at the table for a couple of minutes, we decided that we did not want to spend that kind of money on such a cold and unfriendly atmosphere.
Very 1950’s style Steak House. Business dinner friendly. Entrees are solo so prepare to order sides. Decent bar and espresso. Great mashed potatoes. Rather pricey, but they did have a special one night of Chilean sea bass which was very good. Staff aims to please.
The Santa Fe Bull Ring is a very average steak house with extraordinarily high prices. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone because of their inflated prices. I expected an experience to remember and what I got was an “average” steak house experience. I could have made a better steak at home.
Our server mixed up our orders. My filet was medium and his larger filet was medium rare. She didn’t return to the table very soon so we just made the best of it and he gave me part of his in exchange for mine. But for the $50 price my husband paid for just the meat, it would have been nice to have it done the way he wanted it.
We nearly had the restaurant to ourselves on a Monday night so the service was disappointing. I don’t think we will go back any time soon.
Awesome service from start to finish. Food was delicious and came out extremely hot as it should have. Our steak and lobster was cooked to perfection. We visited Santa Fe for business and would definitely come back.
Greatest steakhouse !
You can have a discreet conversation and service is impeccable. A fabulous olde style
fine dining destination.
I had ordered a rib eye med rare and it came out med well. Another at the table had ordered a large filet med well and it came out rare with a charred outside. Twice he had to send it back to the kitchen. The meat taste was ok nothing special compared to a top steak house like in NYC or DC. Especially when they are charging NYC or DC steakhouse prices. The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to the needs of those at the table. All in all it was just another meal, welcomed though after so many choices of NM food in the area and days of eating it.
We had heard others talk about this traditional steak restaurant but hadn't tried it until this week. The menu is substantial with dinner and bar/lunch options. The format is similar to other steakhouses like Morton's or Ruth's Chris so be ready for a big tab. We managed by keeping the steaks small and splitting sides where we could. Our server was quick with recommendations and attentive so, no issues there. The steaks were perfect. Our dessert was pecan pie a la mode - a nice finish to a good meal.
The food (particularly the aged steak) is fantastic. However, service is unfortunately not always on par. With that in mind, it is still worth a visit if you are a steak fanatic!
Best steak in New Mexico.
I took my friend out there for prime rib. I friend of mine had treated me to prime rib there several weeks ago and it was excellent. This most recent time, not so much.
Everything was great besides the fact that I made a reservation and there wasn't a table for my reservation very upsetting so I had to sit at the bar I don't even drink or anything like that so I do not like to be seen at the bar
The food was excellent, but to call an automatic 20% that is added to the bill a 'tip' , is unethical and offensive, and it offers no opportunity for extra 'tip' when deserved, nor a lesser 'tip' for poor service. Our service was only fair, and certainly did not deserve a 20% tip. 17% or 18% would have been reasonable. Adding 20% to the already over-priced alcoholic drinks was also unacceptable. The greed of the owners dampened our otherwise enjoyable dinner experience.
The owner was very funny! Friendly and made us feel right at home. Delicious food and drinks. Great service! Great experience!
Delicious prime rib, sides, salad and cheesecake. Partner said same on grilled salmon. Very crowded on a Friday night but service remained excellent, and not hurried at all.
Excellent service. Food was perfectly prepared.
Tha lady st the front desk was awesome and the service outstanding
It's no wonder that this restaurant has such a good reputation in our town. Restaurant Week is a great chance to go to places we otherwise could not afford. I wish you had winter "locals" specials once in a while for those of us who can't afford your great food on a regular basis!
