Greatest steakhouse !
You can have a discreet conversation and service is impeccable. A fabulous olde style
fine dining destination.
I had ordered a rib eye med rare and it came out med well. Another at the table had ordered a large filet med well and it came out rare with a charred outside. Twice he had to send it back to the kitchen. The meat taste was ok nothing special compared to a top steak house like in NYC or DC. Especially when they are charging NYC or DC steakhouse prices. The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to the needs of those at the table. All in all it was just another meal, welcomed though after so many choices of NM food in the area and days of eating it.
We had heard others talk about this traditional steak restaurant but hadn't tried it until this week. The menu is substantial with dinner and bar/lunch options. The format is similar to other steakhouses like Morton's or Ruth's Chris so be ready for a big tab. We managed by keeping the steaks small and splitting sides where we could. Our server was quick with recommendations and attentive so, no issues there. The steaks were perfect. Our dessert was pecan pie a la mode - a nice finish to a good meal.
The food (particularly the aged steak) is fantastic. However, service is unfortunately not always on par. With that in mind, it is still worth a visit if you are a steak fanatic!
Best steak in New Mexico.
I took my friend out there for prime rib. I friend of mine had treated me to prime rib there several weeks ago and it was excellent. This most recent time, not so much.
Everything was great besides the fact that I made a reservation and there wasn't a table for my reservation very upsetting so I had to sit at the bar I don't even drink or anything like that so I do not like to be seen at the bar
The food was excellent, but to call an automatic 20% that is added to the bill a 'tip' , is unethical and offensive, and it offers no opportunity for extra 'tip' when deserved, nor a lesser 'tip' for poor service. Our service was only fair, and certainly did not deserve a 20% tip. 17% or 18% would have been reasonable. Adding 20% to the already over-priced alcoholic drinks was also unacceptable. The greed of the owners dampened our otherwise enjoyable dinner experience.
The owner was very funny! Friendly and made us feel right at home. Delicious food and drinks. Great service! Great experience!
Delicious prime rib, sides, salad and cheesecake. Partner said same on grilled salmon. Very crowded on a Friday night but service remained excellent, and not hurried at all.
Excellent service. Food was perfectly prepared.
Tha lady st the front desk was awesome and the service outstanding
It's no wonder that this restaurant has such a good reputation in our town. Restaurant Week is a great chance to go to places we otherwise could not afford. I wish you had winter "locals" specials once in a while for those of us who can't afford your great food on a regular basis!
Best steaks in Santa Fe! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The owner, Harry always treats up like family and makes sure we have a great dining experience.
I love the Bull Ring. The food is great and the decor is delightfully retro. I think Frank Sinatra was dining at the next table.
We went for restaurant week and ordered the prime rib. The prime rib was delicious. The mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were okay. I personally like my garlic mashed potatoes creamier and with more garlic. I wasn't impressed at all with the spinach. When dessert came, I tried my friends bread pudding, which was delicious. I ordered the cheesecake myself, but would've preferred the bread pudding. Overall good food for the amount of money spent.
It was not a good omen that we waited 5 minutes to be seated by the hostess, followed by another 10 minute wait before someone came to our table to acknowledge us. I do not even think "Carlos" was actually our waiter but was likely the lead. It's not a good mark of a steakhouse when the claim chowder, chicken, and cheesecake were the best items we had. The rib eye was way underdone contrary to my temperature request, and the meat was flavorless. The vegetables we had were bland. We were extremely disappointed.
Old school steakhouse ambiance...steaks served sizzling on plate to you! Tasty indeed!
It was the second time of eating there and the food was perfect!
We loved The Bull Ring! A lil pricey, but otherwise it was a great experience!
Best steak we have ever had. Worth every penny. Service was amazing.
We’ve been to the Bull Ring many times, and it is the most consistently great restaurant in Santa Fe.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening! The hostess was curteous, our waiter was excellent and informative, and the food was outstanding!
Cold draft across room every time someone came in from outside and we were in a corner booth and it did not make for an enjoyable experience. They have a vestibule but the outside door was wide open and it was cold outside. Lack of attention followed with the server who was late with items and generally was not interested in providing service.
Wonderful time with my sister and brother in law who were visiting from Arizona. Food was amazingly delicious and our server Juan was absolutely the best hands down.
The perfect classic steakhouse ... best martini in Santa Fe, great steaks.
The food was delicious and the staff are amazing. They welcome you as if you were part of the family. Thanks for making our retirement lunch a wonderful event.
Great service - will come back! I only wish there were menu items for a light appetite!
We stopped in Santa Fe as an overnight stop and decided on The Bull Ring based on Yelp info. We were not disappointed; we enjoyed the coconut shrimp with our drinks in the bar where we were visited by our host Harry and made to feel welcome. Great ambiance, delish shrimp prepared uniquely delicious. Then we went to the dining room that was beautifully decorated and roomy: the service was excellent, our steaks prepared perfectly and served sizzling hot. Food was phenomenal- we will definitely return! Thank you Harry for a great experience.
The moment we walked in we were greeted by the owner of the restaurant of over 40 years, Harry. We are from out of state but he quickly made us feel like family and was very humorous! Secondly, The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The ambiance is that of a 70’s speak easy, laid back place. Lisa was also the best hostess I have had in a while! If ever back in Santa Fe we will be sure to visit! Thanks again for the food and service!
Was Great!!! That shouldbe enough. Andrew was our waiter and thank him for good service.
Large salads and very good steaks with a very good wine list.
We met the friendly owner at happy hour prior to dinner. The food was very good but not excellent. Husband's ribeye was a 2 out of 5 however my petite filet was a 4 out of 5. Bread was not great, I enjoyed my salad. Generous pour of wines.
This is really the one of the consistently great restaurants in Santa Fe. Over the years, the quality and service don't waver. The steaks are the best in town.....in fact, they stand up to the best steaks anywhere in the US. They are perfectly cooked and if not, are undercooked so the diner has some leeway. If ever sent back, they are not overcooked but, as expected, are returned cooked to perfection. Don't know how they do it, but we have never been disappointed at The Bull Ring in our many years of going there. Although it is a long-time favorite for locals, it is always a sure bet for both locals and visitors.
Baked potato was cold and a goopy cheese mess, mushrooms and steak had no seasoning at all. Was very surprised by the bland food. Will go to Rio Chama when in Santa Fe again.
When we know we are going to be in Santa Fe we always make reservations in advance. Driving in from Durango, CO it is our must dining destination. We look forward to the great food, great service and relaxed atmosphere. We are never disappointed and will always tell friends and family to make it their favorite place for dining.
We visited the Bull Ring for New Years' Eve and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Seated promptly and greeted warmly. Our wait staff was attentive. Classic steak house charm. Steaks and sides were great. We will be back!
The waiter was very professional. The food was very tasty along with the cocktails. The seating was very comfortable.
A disappointment in the heart of Santa Fe. Ordered steaks and lamb chops which were not cooked to request, and servers don’t ask but deliver and leave. So a reorder would have been an ordeal.
The Bull Ring is simply the best steakhouse in Santa Fe. Beautiful, thick, tender, perfectly cooked steaks. While they have many delicious looking items on their menu I’ve only had steaks. Besides great food the service is excellent. The ambiance is also great. You can converse at your table at a normal level which seems rarely true at restaurants these days. A wonderful dining experience.
