Great spot, with great food and really nice service. Would happily go back.
The gentleman serving us was charming and made us feel right at home, and the food was top notch. Third time here and I’m already looking forward to going back!
I ate lunch here with a friend. I have eaten here a few times before & as expected it was absolutely delicious. We shared beetroot fritters & tuna tartare to start & then both had the Hake with sea vegetables as mains. Everything was faultless & very tasty. The service very friendly. Although heavy on the meat options & we are both pescatarian, the few fish / vegetarian options are always really good so I'll be back again soon. Oh, & yes it's expensive for lunch, but worth it.
ALWAYS ENJOY COMING TO THE BULL AND LAST - AMBIENCE AND FOOD GOOD AND PREFER TO SIT UPSTAIRS WHERE IT IS QUIET AND COSY
We went out for an easy Sunday brunch. It was rather spoiled by a waiter who made us feel as though we were interrupting his Sunday morning. Mixed-up orders, inconsistent dishes and toast with slabs (actual slabs) of butter smeared on top - when we’d asked for non-buttered toast on the side. He wasn’t too bothered when we asked why the toast had been buttered - actually just walked off huffing. We’ve eaten at Bull & Last a few times but unfortunately this has left a bad taste ...
Great food as always but it is a shame that they don’t have a veggie roast on a Sunday.
The sticky toffee pudding is amazing!
Went for breakfast - was okay, portions for some dishes smaller than expected and less ‘refined’ than you might expect for the price. Some of the staff very nice, some a bit stern but generally attentive.
The food here is so good.
My preference is always to go for meat here but my wife & her friend had some good fish dishes. She has wheat & dairy issues which were dealt with easily.
I shared a huge sirloin with a chum with triple cut chips and salad.
Its not cheap but its not meant to be but is good quality food.
I look forward to going again.
A return trip to the Bull and Last, and once again it didn't disappoint. Very, very tasty food.
Ideal location for Sunday lunch after a walk on the Heath. Perfect.
Lovely service and great food. Had been planning on going there for a while and glad we finally did.
Very enjoyable family lunch. We all had fish and chips, and our dog had a free marrow bone. It was mid-week, so not crowded. Staff made us feel very welcome.
Buttermilk chicken and the triple cooked chips were very delicious but the cured mackerel is just something else. The mackerel is lightly cured and has the most incredible texture! I would definitely go back for the same again!
Staff were friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!
Great, well-priced food - a favorite of ours when we are in London.
There is a reason it’s always crowded because it is one of the best roasts in London. Great wine list, friendly staff, incredible fresh food. Accommodated our well behaved dog too!
Excellent gastropub that prides itself on its changing seasonal menu of fine food cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive and the ambience was relaxing for dining. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys food, and wants to east in a traditional pub setting.
Best sunday lunch I've had. Fish board is amazing. Excellent service too.
We sat at the table next to the washrooms and there was a killer cold breeze coming across our legs. I had to put my coat over my legs. Not sure if it came from washrooms.
However, food and service was terrific.
For us, a bit too noisy although we love the ambiance of a bustling pub but for some reason we were having trouble hearing ourselves speak and of course, we then spoke even louder and added to the general noise!
Great as always good service seemed more professional than last.
So cosy after a drizzly walk on Hampstead Heath. Hearty and tasty food with great service. Very nice staff! It's perfect for the pre-Christmas warm up! Also.... didn't get penned in by baby-buggies!
Food was delicious (it always is!) and the service is friendly and warm. It’s the best pub in London for food, drinks and a cosy atmosphere.
As always totally delicious food and also dog friendly 😊🐶 fab gastro pub next to the beautiful Heath.
Really lovely food, very attentive and helpful staff, couldn't recommend it enough!
Wonderful food, great wine and fab service as always. Love this place.
As good as one wants! Thanks for a good evening. We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Always amazing food and knowledgeable friendly service. Love this place.
Delicious pub dinner, really helpful and dog friendly.
Fish and chips - lovely piece of battered fish, nice little pot of mushy peas and tartar sauce. However - the chips are too chunky and because they are so big they are never quite soft enough. I much prefer smaller hand made chips even with skins on for good texture.
I chose the apple crumble which was apparently cooked to order. Having made crumbles myself for many years this was confusing. You can't make a good crumble in 15 mins. What came was a pot of hard apples with some oats scattered on top. Just make a big good crumble where the fruit is actually stewed and you have a nice proper crumble on top. Or stew the apples separately, place in ramakins and put the crumble mixture on top and cook to order.
Atmosphere brilliant, setting brilliant, dogs welcome and was presented with water bowl without having to ask - lovely.
I’ve eaten here several times now. The standard of service and quality of the food is excellent. Slightly more expensive than other gastro pubs but worth it. The waiting staff recognised us and even remembered which wine we ordered last time.
I’ll definitely be returning.
The standard of the food and the drinks were amazing- absolutely favourite weekend lunch in London.
The food/menu just gets better and better!! Great service and attention as always!
Beef was blue, I like rare beef as much as next person but it actually wasn’t cooked at all
Read very good things but was disappointed in the food and service. Staff seemed uninterested and not overly friendly. Ordered the roast pork but it was dominated by the sauerkraut and not great. Perhaps we ordered badly. Pudding was YUMMY.
Great place for Sunday lunch after a walk on the heath. Dog friendly downstairs and real fires. Great selection of proper beer as well.
A beautiful building with exceptional food and wonderful service. I could not recommend it more highly!
Really nice food and love the ambience
Delicious innovative courses that combine unusual ingredients or traditional recipes done very well
Great atmosphere as always and fabulous Cote de boeuf accompanied by a very nice Sicilian red. Thumbs up.
The Bull and Last is not cheap but it's very good. Pleasant staff, good wine and beer list and really high end food. Worth it especially if with foodie friends.
Great pub near Hampstead Heath. Book in advance as it's always full especially on a Sunday. For good reason! They food here is WAY above average for a pub roast. Last time we had a late lunch on a sunny Friday. The fish platter was so good with lots of local produce, lamb sandwich was delicious with perfectly cook lamb & the fish & chips were perfect. Local craft beers on tap and lovely friendly servers. One of my favourites.
