Beautiful location, with consistently great food and wonderful service. Worh the price
Amazing as always!!
What a wonderful dining experience. Beautiful surrounds, delicious creative dishes and attentive service. We later talked about making the Christmas Eve Dinner a tradition!
Perfect setting for our lunch group .
Quiet, great food, and excellent service.
Exceptional meal and an amazing dining experience.
The perch was really nicely prepared and was delicious. The pate appetizer was excellent. Fine service with great attention to detail. I would rate it a 10 out of 10 and definitely will be back again.
An enjoyable experience overall, with one minor disappointment. Having been notified well in advance that I was allergic to onions, I think the kitchen could have created a sauce to accompany the steak, instead of just serving it without the au jus. Even I can knock up a pepper sauce in short order & I am no chef.
Lovely decor, attentive staff and excellent food!!
Beautiful surroundings, fantastic service and wonderful food. The Bruce hotel is great for brunch, lunch or supper. Really enjoyed our meal, the service and surroundings.
Service, food and atmosphere is all first class! Our second wonderful dining experience in a month and it won’t be our last!
Love The Bruce.
Leslie made the day. Her attention to detail and sense of timing was impeccable.
I told everyone Who might be remotely interested how great the service was.
The food was good. Presentation excellent. I had the pickerel which may have been a little over cooked, and the sides could have been a little warmer, but all in all very good.
We will from definitely go back, and, continue to talk about it.
Thank you Leslie
Food was spectacular and service was out of this world. Very great wine list as well.
I was just a little disappointed in our timing. Restaurant was not that busy and yet we were there prior to noon and received bill around 1:20 p.m. and then headed to a 2 pm performance at the theatre. We would have had dessert but no time
The food, tea, and desserts were all delicious. The Bruce hotel is very nice and the staff were very friendly.
Best restaurant in the area by far. Excellent food and staff. We felt welcomed and comfortable. The perch was absolutely amazing. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return soon.
First time at Bruce Hotel , birthday lunch for my sister was wonderful.. would certainly go back. Service was amazing. Surprise birthday desert was a awesome. Will be back.
Outstanding service and top notch chefs, the food quality is better than all of the high end hotels and restaurants in Toronto.
We enjoyed our lunch visit very much. The staff were welcoming and gracious. It happened that there only a few guests so it was quiet and we wandered about enjoying the artwork and decor. When we asked, a staff person took time to tell us some of the history and to answer our questions. The food was very good and the walk through the grounds to the theatre was enjoyable. Our only regret was that we had hoped we could come back after the performance and have a wonderful peach dessert that we noticed as we were exiting. Alas, it turned out to be available only as part of the dinner.
You cannot find yourself ever venturing wrongly with The Restaurant at the Bruce - their service is some of the most spectacular I’ve experienced, and on-par with many of the Michelin star restaurants I’ve dined within. Yet still, this Restaurant - and the Hotel as a whole - remain a steadfast and endeared haunt of mine. If you have within you a sense of things that are finer and a preference for the excess, this Restaurant is calling your name - you’ve only to listen.
After all - if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing.
We booked reservations at The Lounge inside the Bruce Hotel. We also had theatre tickets so timing was important. We were seated in the dining room. After realizing the menu was different, much more expensive and more formal, we asked to be seated in the lounge since we booked it for its menu. We were told they sometimes have a problem with online bookings and that the Lounge was totally booked. We asked if we could order from lounge menu ( we were literally so close we were looking inside the Lounge) told no... we cannot. After waiting 15 min, they seated us in The Lounge. Ordered wine, soup and a charcuterie board. Waited another 10 min then told we needed to get all food at once since we were running out of time. Also told, they were out of that wine. We are now 30 min into our reservation and still only have water.
Service was terrible and unorganized. Cellar board was just ok.
Hotel was stunning and relaxing.... too bad the restaurant doesn’t seem to have its s*** together.
the food was excellent and our server was lovely, but there were some snags - pretty sure they were understaffed. One of the drinks on the menu (the Amanda) wasn't available, which seemed a bit weird because it was mostly gin LOL. Also, it took a long time to get our drinks - the salad came before we got our cocktails and the wine came after the entree. Also, there was no one who could recommend the wine - we ended up just ordering a cab sauv.
Having said all this, I have now eaten at The Bruce three times and the food is really, really excellent.
A wonderful dining experience, even just for lunch. The best Club House Sandwich EVER!! So fresh. Can’t wait to go back and try The Bruce Burger or the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
A must stop in dining experience before or after a visit to the Festival!
Perhaps it was the confusion between menus on open table, or the phone call (very unexpected ) from the hostess, but we found ourselves booked into a VERY formal dining room . Lovely bread with honeyed butter, interesting appetizers, and delicious mains.... The menu promised exquisite- sounding additions to the mains, but these additional tastes were tinier than a salt spoon - practically impossible to discover the taste. My wild halibut was good, my companion's steak was also good and well prepared. The sides ..not very interesting.
I found the concept of" all Canadian food" to have definite limitations when it came to flavour. No lemons, olive oil or other non-local foods were used. The good service disd not quite make up for the prices.
This was a repeat visit after the theatre. The food and service was excellent!
Be prepared to make this a special event as you will probably be spending a good amount of time, enjoying excellent food that is well presented in a comfortable setting (and with the prices to match).
We loved the service and the food at the Bruce. From the initial greeting at the front door, to the host and servers and finally to our departure, we felt we were attended to. We had the hamburger on their homemade brioche bun and the chicken. All was delicious and portions were right.
It was a bit pricy but not unexpectedly so for this kind of service and ambience.
We had a lovely lunch before heading to a play. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. And service was excellent, accommodating a few special requests.
Would highly recommend this venue.
The Bruce is a beautifully set location, service was amazing, the inhouse churned butter with honey from hives out back was a great start. Just need to find the back path for return visit.
HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THIS DINING EXPERIENCE TO MULTIPLE FRIENDS . Good Food and great service and ambiance
Five middle-aged women ate at The Bruce Hotel restaurant before attending a performance at The Festival Theater. We absolutely thrilled with this decision! The restaurant is very "bright" and done in tones of white so it is airy and comfortable. The service was top-notch. I had the lamb dish and would highly recommend it! Two of the ladies had the steak and the other two had the halibut and all of us were pleased.
You don’t have to spend big bucks to eat at The Bruce - I went for lunch and it was lovely and affordable. Excellent server Leslie was very accommodating about the menu, as I have celiac. The chef is a master - every bite had that little something extra to it. Layers of flavor and skill in every bite. I am PICKY and this was yummy. Very upper crust and white tablecloths and chandeliers and such - definitely on another level.
We had such a remarkable meal! We enjoyed the fauna tasting menu with wine pairings and it was worth every penny. The wait staff, sommeliers, and chefs all took time to come and chat with us. The food was beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. Each chef took their part very seriously which resulted is wonderful and unexpected flavour pairings at each course. After dining here once we have encoded that our next Stratford stay will be at the Bruce so that we will have easy access to dining there throughout our trip. Thank you - it was exceptional.
Everything was perfect except for the Pickerel was charred black. I asked for mine to be well cooked but my friend did not. They were both charred.
Great lunch spot. Love the Bruce.
The manager was our server, and she was exceptional. The menu in the bar lounge is not extensive, but it was big enough. The only complaint is that I was trying to reserve in the restaurant, but OpenTable put us in the lounge due to no space in the restaurant. I thought the lounge was the same menu, but it is not. However, the food was so good that I would gladly return to the lounge, and I will want to try the restaurant for the prix-fix menu and wine pairing.
The experience at The Bruce Hotel is always great, top notch staff and the most delicious food that they provide to their guests.
You won't find better service in Stratford.
The experience has been amazing. I am on a busy trip, and has been going back there for the last two nights, and will go back again tomorrow. The service has been great from the moment you walk in to this hotel.
Everything about this place was fantastic! We had dinner in the lounge and it was perfect for a pre-theater dinner. I would highly recommend!
Always a fine dining experience. Chef Aaron and his team are exceptional and staff is superb. Just sad that the pastry chef is leaving October 5.
