The Brooklyn Seafood, Steak & Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
One of the filets (med ) had a bad taste, almost rancid. They did take it off the bill. The rest of the food was alright. Not quite as good as we have had before at the Brooklyn and tonight's meal was definitely not worth the price of the meal. The oysters and crab cakes were good. The other two steaks were ok. Again, was like eating at a mediocre meal at a high price.
We booked the reservation through Open Table. We arrived about 30 mins early to get a drink at the bar, but they offered to go ahead and seat us. Once seated, we were quickly attended to by one of the best waiters I have ever had. He was attentive, professional, personable, and efficient. The whole meal from start to finish was A+. It was a great night!
From the time we entered the restaurant the attention and service was impeccable. Our waiter, Eric, was most knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I The drinks and wine selection were great and substantial. Better pour then many of the restaurants in the area. The menu selections were most impressive. The rack of lamb was superb as well as two different steak selections. So, we had a wonderful night. We will be back. It's on our list as one of the best restaurants in Seattle. Thank you.
My husband and I have loved The Brooklyn for years. But this was not 'our' Brooklyn. What happened? It was so noisy we had to nearly shout at each other to be heard (and it was a very small table). The food was not good - nothing like it used to be. Somehow the prices went up, but the taste and quality went WAY WAY down. I had the duck - which was flabby, tasteless and VERY rare. Normally I like rare, but it had an off-taste, like raw blood. I choked down as much as I could, but left half on my plate - not easy to do at those prices. The duck came with a spoonful of completely tasteless cous cous - not even salt on it. Two half-spears of asparagus that looked like it was heated in a microwave, and two 1/2 inch pieces of mushy carrots. Two, half inch pieces. That's it. It was one of the worst restaurant meals that I've ever had. My husband had the lamb, which was better. But, again, it was accompanied by few, plain sides that he said didn't have much taste. Nothing on the plates was yummy, creamy or hearty. It was all dry pieces of things. We also had the prawn appetizer. Store-bought thin slices of cucumber, smoked prawns and candied prosciutto. The only thing that had flavor was the prawns. Those were good. The rest was bland. How do you make bland prosciutto? Somehow they did. Our server was a scowling, unhappy, grumpy woman. She clearly wanted to be elsewhere. We were not rude. And we didn't ask for special things. We smiled and showed her we were happy to be there. But she didn't play along. She was just not nice. And she didn't care to hide it. I was so disappointed. Even more so when the bill came. $150 for bland, tasteless food in a dining room so noisy we had to shout to be heard. Our (former) favorite restaurant is now bottom of our list. I don't know what happened to The Brooklyn, but it isn't good.
When we asked the 3 hotel staff at the front desk about The Brooklyn they, in absolute, complete unison sighed out "Wonderful!". Well, duh, I took that as a clue and you should too!
Great service, excellent location near Pioneer Square, and super fresh menu (we did all seafood). We started with the oyster sampler; they almost melted in your mouth and sea sweet. We shared small plates - you just can't go wrong at this place.
Excellent service - our waiter knew we needed to be at the symphony at 7:30PM, and got us out on time, with no rush at any point. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, with outstanding choices. Prices were reasonably moderate for Seattle. I would recommend this restaurant for either everyday dining or for special occasions. Had a wonderful time.
Brooklyn was for our group of 5 a very pleasant surprise with its wide selection of fresh oysters and interesting seafood menu of quality. They also offer steaks and one or two dishes for vegetarians, but it was the seafood which grabbed our attention. Halibut was fresh and well prepared. The Brooklyn crab cake is one of the best of that genre we have experienced. All in all, a very nice place to dine. Service was excellent.
The oysters were great!! Service was excellent from Nick.
The main course dinner was disappointing. My wife ordered the Steak Oscar and was overcooked and lacked the flavor that is expected for the most expensive steak on the menu, very disappointing. I ordered the lamb shank, again over cooked, dry and just not the quality that was expected. Maybe the kitchen was having an off night, but overall disappointing.
What an incredible meal! Could be the best meal I've ever had! Oysters! Fresh and tasty! Salad! Fresh and delicious with lots of blue cheese! Steak! So tender you could cut it with your fork! Almost melted in my mouth! Incredible flavor! The service from Kevin was wonderful! Can't wait to visit Seattle again!
I went here with my friend after work one day and we did the Oyster tasting, that was amazing. I took my wife here for our regular date night and they loved it! I'm easy to please with burgers, my wife had the Oyster Sampler and was very impressed by the freshness!
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, food prices are high for the portions. Had several appetizers and entrees - all were excellent, although halibut was a bit undercooked. I ordered a beer and the rim of the glass had a chip in it and I cut my lip and finger. Manager came over with first-aid kit and apologies, she was embarrassed and talked with bartender to ensure it does not happen again. Took my entree and beer off of our bill and apologized again on our way out the door, didn't ruin the meal or night because of how well they addressed it. Great menu and meal, I would go back and recommend.
After reviewing various seafood steak restaurants for over an hour online, I selected the Brooklyn Seafood Steak and Oyster House and I was not wrong. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Eric, our waiter came by, nicely introduced himself and gave us plenty of time to relax, visit with each other and make our selections. He answered all our questions and made excellent recommendations. He decanted the bottle of wine I brought and was quite knowledgeable about wines.
The caprese salad was excellent and the aged sherry vinegar was noteworthy. The halibut was cooked to perfection with this awesome meyer lemon and butter sauce. The vegetables cooked al dente. The Ahi tuna was rare like I like it and seasoned with the right spices. The pistachio tiramisu was out of this world and the cappuccino enhanced this unique dessert.
Needless to say I will be returning to this restaurant and indulge in the oysters. My friends from Austin, Texas were blown away by the freshness of the fish and it was the topic of conversation for part of the evening!
