The Brooklyn Seafood, Steak & Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
Whenever we visit Seattle, we make sure to make a reservation go have dinner here! We love this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful and a great place to celebrate a special occasion the st and melt in your mouth. Don't forget to save room for dessert, it is amazing, too!
Wonderful food & great service! We were in a bit of a hurry to catch a show and our waiter made sure we ordered the appropriate dishes and we had a delicious meal with plenty of time to spare.
Always a favorite, we will be returning to The Brooklyn again soon.
In my last review, I was very disappointed in the service we received that night. I am quite happy to report a much nicer experience in this go around. But I will mention that the waiter asked us up front about attending a show and made a strong point of emphasizing an early order. We had a lovely experience at an old favorite.
Our experience was wonderful overall. Truly my only disappointment was a small part of my meal. We both ordered the filet minon. The steak was perfect and so were the potatoes. However my carrot and the onion ring must've been just for looks because they were hard as a rock. If your chef wants a bit of feedback I'd say take those off the dish. 😬 Thank you for a great evening and amazing service!!
Went to the Brooklyn for dinner after the Symphony since it is across the street from Benaroya Hall. The décor is charming, with French posters on the wall. It was like going back in time to a bar / restaurant in old Chicago. The steaks were impeccably prepared and wonderful. The oysters were amazingly fresh, some of the best we've ever had. However, the cod was a little overdone and the salmon still a bit on the raw side. So I would recommend mostly the oysters and steak. It is a bit pricey, even with sharing plates over $60/person. I imagine it would be a good place for executives to take in a business lunch / dinner and not a particularly affordable family outing.
John was our waiter. He was AWESOME! With hi great presence, service, and conversations, he made us feel welcomed and well cared for. His smile and knowledge of the menu were professional and added to the atmosphere of the place!!! Thanks John for a wonderful dining experience!!

We often eat at this restaurant before attending a symphony concert. Although a little on the high side for pricing the food is always good and creative. We have always found the service to be attentive without being obtrusive.
As with most downtown restaurants the wine prices are very high when purchasing by the glass.
We were disappointed with the food. One dish was quite salty and the results to give it back and make another dish was about the same. The restaurant has grown old and does not have the atmosphere like in the past.
New restaurants are popping up in Seattle allowing the chefs to be very creative with their food. Brooklyn could use a remodel and face lift of the menu.
Excellent Service & delicious food! My party arrived 20 minutes late, but the host staff sat me anyway at our reserved table while I waited for them to arrive. Water glasses were always full and frequent checks were made throughout the dining experience to see if recommended food & wine suggested were to our liking.
From Sea to farm the Brooklyn has always out done themselves. The seamless hustle and bustle of the kitchen and oyster bar makes this a special place to dine in Seattle . The service and Attention to detail is second to none. A true gem of the downtown Food scene.
The service was fantastic. Drinks were good. Wine list is pretty limited. More Washington wine options would be nice. The meal was ok for the price. I ordered the rib steak and it was thin and the char marks were heavy. The side sauce was amazing. The food was just ok. Not worth the price.
The reviews are very misleading. This place is an over priced sports bar. They have multiple TV’s displaying sporting events.
We went for the seafood and oysters. The oyster selection was fantastic and they were excellent... except for the 1 of 3 condiments was cocktail sauce. The other two were chef prepared. Them being advertised as a seafood restaurant, we were really hoping to have some sort of crab dish.... unfortunately all they had was crab cakes. West coast crab cakes. If you have spent time along the east coast, you know what I mean. 10% crab meat and 90% breading. We were disappointed. The staff was professional yet not very friendly or even willing to engage us in short conversation.
I ordered the lamb leg which was excellent. The oysters were excellent. Everything else was fair. For $175 per person, we were disappointed. I’m sure others enjoy that place, but we wouldn’t recommend it.... except for the oysters. Go for the oysters and a football game. Maybe they will have chicken wings next time.
My friend and I were on a girls weekend away we wanted a nice dinner so decided to try this we arrived shortly after 8 and were told 3 times that we had to have our orders in by 9 which we found very rude and rushed. (We had made a reservation online so why have that time if you didn't want people there). The food came and my steak was well over cooked the server didn't seem to care... the new steak came out and the outside was burnt while the inside was pretty raw still (they were in a rush to get out so i can understand not taking the time to make the steak perfectly). At that point I was over the whole meal and just stopped eating it. I am pretty upset considering this was a 60 dollar meal and it was a terrible experience. For that price the meal should have been one of the best I've had and it wasn't. I could get a better steak for much much less. Disappointed and would not recommend this place
We booked this restaurant for good seafood. We left disappointed and will not be returning nor will recommend to anyone. The server we had was unhappy and it felt like he was angry for some reason. Food was not great- mediocre! I would have preferred to walk a few blocks to another restaurant.
The Brooklyn has always been a favorite; ever since it first opened I have been an occasional patron. The food is excellent, the staff mostly is good, though they can get a little high brow as if we should be privileged to be in their presence. LOL I suppose that does come from the Brooklyn’s rep.
The Brooklyn is pricey, though the food quality and preparation is exquisite. And this visit was definitely much better than my last visit.
My favorite place to sit is the chef's bar! Big "13 Coins-esque" bar chairs in front of the grill are the perfect place to watch the kitchen action. The oysters are fabulous as are steaks and fish. I had the lamb shank this last time, and I am still thinking about how great it was! The outside was crisp and flavorful, and the meat practically melted off the bone. My martini was great--they know how to pour them. It is not an inexpensive dinner out, so unfortunately I only go a couple of times a year; I would go once a month if I could afford it!
This was a remarkably good experience - all around. Our food was fantastic, our waiter was one of the best, and the ambiance was comfortable and classy. The waiter noticed our theatre tickets on the table and made sure we made it out on-time. He had great recommendations and was attentive without being overbearing. This was one of the best Seattle dining experiences we’ve ever had!
