The Brooklyn is centrally-located in downtown Seattle, directly across the street from the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall and the Seattle Art Museum. We are within easy walking distance of Pike Place Market and Seattle Waterfront.

potato crusted and pan seared served with madeira braised fennel with roasted artichoke, english pea emulsion, boulangere marbled potatoes and spring carrots. finished with lobster butter

The Brooklyn's Clam Chowder
Great place. Delicious food. Happy hour 4-6. One annoying thing is that happy hour could not be ordered at the dinner table (only at the bar). When I said I will go to the bar and get me a special, waiter said he will charge me for the full price. I didn't make an issue out of it, but could easily tell the waitr to get lost.
Excellent service, superb food
The bar service was great and we very much enjoyed our oysters. Seating and entrees were most enjoyable. Next trip to Seattle we'll be sure to stop in.
Great halibut, super great clam chowder, spacious dining room, very helpful service
We found the food overrated. The oysters were good, but the salmon was supposed to have been cooked on an alder plank and we could not taste that at all. It was just too heavy.
Went here for a business lunch. The service was outstanding. The food was amazing. The restaurant is quiet. Definitely plan on returning.
We went to lunch during restaurant week to try someplace new and experience the special menu. The food was fine but they were out of the rib appetizer that one of had planned on ordering and they refused to honor the restaurant week menu posted by Minneapolis St Paul magazine which included dessert for both lunch and dinner. Their website's menu included dessert only for dinner. As a result, we did not feel we got any special "deal" by coming during restaurant week. Best item was the toasted club sandwich with fries.
Salmon was exceptional. Service was perfect. Nothing but positive things to say.
It’s been a while since the last time I visited the Brooklyn. Same ambiance with a slight lean towards a younger (relatively speaking - I’ve aged) crowd. Slightly louder than what I’d prefer, but I’ll chalk it up as being “lively”. The server was a nice lad and he tried to satisfy our needs and tastes, very hard.
The single 5-star killer event was the bright red lipstick on the coffee cup rim followed by the server attempting to make excuses for it. Otherwise, the 3-way shared hearty meal with dozen fantastic oysters as a starter would have been a easy slam-dunk of a 5-star experience.
I’ve never been disappointed with the food at the Brooklyn - it’s always something in the fringes that spoils the reach to a 100% review. So close. So VERY close.
Food was fabulous, our server however was not. The Selection of oysters, wedge salad, scallops, steak all so great!

Our server was outstanding, she was there when needed observant when not needed. Service combined with good food will bring us back.
Way too costly for at best average food. We've been coming to Seattle for years and remember when eating at The Brooklyn meant something. Now it just means you'll pay way more and get much less. We won't be back.
My wife and I went here on Saturday for our Valentine's Weekend Diner. Service was unmatched and food was excellent. We shared a crab cack, I wish we had ordered two. Best I have had. I had a NY steak and my wife ordered the Halibut. Steak was solid and the Cod was as taste as good as it looked which was incredible.
Went to this place as a last resort for V day dinner. Well to my surprise the food was delicious! Both me and the wife had steak, it was cooked perfectly and the meat was of great quality. I also had calamari which was cut differently but it was nice chunks! Very tasty sauce came with it.
My wife had a crab salad with pears and beats...She enjoyed it! The service was outstanding!!! Waiter was in point with recommendations. I also had a Brooklyn mule...excellent drink....I will be going back!
Only thing that might be annoying is the restaurant is pretty loud during happy hour.

Good oysters , but the steak was chewy and the fish and chips were soggy and greasy. Very heavy food.

This is a wonderful slice of old Americana! From the copper pendant lights over the bar seating facing the busy kitchen to the old school menu items. Don't expect high style, modern fusion cuisine. Just a fun outing with good food, service and atmosphere.
Dave was a wonderful waiter. Great table side manner, personable and efficient.
Very nice overall experience in Feb 2020. I come here almost every year when I attend an annual tech conference in Seattle.
The appetizers and main course were excellent. I had the salmon which was better this year than previous times when it was a little rubbery. This time - perfect! Also, the prawns and side sauce were great. I also kept the side sauce for the main dish. I also had the house salad. There was nothing exceptional about this. It said it had a garlic dressing but I did not taste it. A little more dressing would have been nice and cutting the salad a little finer would make it easier to eat. All others in my party were satisfied with the first two courses.
I also had the dessert - the pistachio tiramisu. I had also had this in previous year but I had forgotten - now I remembered why. I was not impressed with this at all. For a place of this caliber, I expected more. It was dry and had whole pistachios tossed on top. I'm not sure if there was any concept of pistachios incorporated into the tiramisu itself. I could not really see as it was served in a little jar. Serving it on a plate would have ben a finer experience. Portion size was small but I actually appreciate that. Also, a colleague had the key lime pie and he was also not impressed.
Also, the prices were a steep. For this reason and the mediocre dessert, I have 4 our of 5 stars. However, I still highly recommend for the overall experience and main courses.
Food was amazing!!
It has been years since we ate at the Brooklyn, but they are still just as good as ever. We think they have the best crab cakes in town, service is great and it was remarkably quiet for a Friday night where we enjoyed being able to have a conversation without lots of background noise.
My burger was amazing. It was very juicy and flavorful. The service was great as well and all at a fair price.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The crab cakes, scallops, salmon and filet mignon were delicious. Great selection of wine.
It had been years since we had been so this was our first stop on visiting Seattle again. It’s still the same — nothing has changed. Delicious!!!
Started with an excellent Moscow Mule (not their signature version with peach ginger beer and mint, just the standard) and moved on to one of the best wedge salads I’ve ever had. Big wedge of blue cheese, lots of crispy pork belly. Then the NY strip arrived. I had asked for medium, which should have had a red center. This was gray all the way through. They brought me another that was perfect, so I did enjoy the steak. Just took two tries. They handled the situation marvelously, though. And I enjoyed munching on the potato delmonico, grilled asparagus, and glazed carrot while I waited. All were delicious. Finished with an apple crisp. Different from what I expected... almost a granola top, but still enjoyable.
I was happy with everything the only issue is that I called to make sure that they knew it was my husband’s birthday and they assured me that the server would be told.
He was not told and this is the 2nd time I have had that issue.

The Brooklyn is a Seattle institution, offering an always-busy Happy Hour, good selection of well-prepared cocktails, and good food. We often take out-of-town visitors there as it is close to our Symphony Hall and makes an excellent pre or post concert place to visit.
This visit, we had three out of four vote "excellent" on the food. One of our party had the Filet Mignon and was a bit disappointed with the quality of the meat. This is unusual, but we lacked time to send it back for adjustment. We'll be back, especially during prime Pacific Northwest Oyster season. Also have to mention that it is one of the few restaurants these days that doesn't have loud, obnoxious female vocalist music wailing in the background.
