The Brook Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We find Brook Tavern to be friendly, fun, and the food is delicious. Two of us had the salmon which was excellent, one had the chicken which also was good but slightly over cooked in parts and one person had the burger which was “just right”. The service was very good. Almost too attentive for four people who are trying to catch up but that is not a big complaint. Just maybe one or two too many interruptions into an enthusiastic conversation.
We love this restaurant. We moved here 3 months ago and it has evolved to be our favorite. I wish your bar area was larger. I guess that is my only real complaint. Love the music on Monday night.
The staff is wonderful and makes a point of getting to know what you like. The food is always good and the daily and weekly specials are wonderful. We always ask that Lawrence be our waiter and he is so good he remembers what we had to drink the last time we were in and how we like our meat cooked. My friends and I try to go to the Brook Tavern every Sunday. Brook is not to be missed for a good meal and great place to meet up.
My adult son and I visited the Brook Tavern for Thanksgiving dinner, we had our holiday dinner there last year as well. Atmosphere is great, old tavern look and feel, divided into separate areas to give a more cozy feel. The food was very good, traditional turkey dinner, the service is exceptional, they made us feel very welcome and not just a number on an overbooked holiday. We were very pleased with the whole experience and would recommend to friends.
The Brook Tavern is in our neighborhood so we can walk there—a big plus. The people are nice and the service is good. It's noisy but there are some small tables in the back which are more quiet than others; ask for one of those. The food is OK, just not very tasty. Ingredients all seem fresh and the waiter staff are informed about allergens. It's fine, just not a fave. It's not bad and it's very convenient in more ways than one.
Great from the moment we walked in. Very good happy hour specials. We had a large party with 3 kids and they were wonderful about having the high chair all ready when we got there on a busy Friday night in Saratoga. The center cut sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and their mashed potatoes with the garlic in them were great as well. Others loved the ribs and pork chop special. We will definitely be returning to this place again and again. Thanks for such a great experience!!!
They were having a benefit, I always wanted to go there and had not been. I definitely will be back though. We had reservations and got seated immediately - the service was excellent. We both ordered the full turkey dinner on the special sheet for $20 - came with soup, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes , sweet potatoes , cranberry sauce and apple crisp for dessert. The vegetable was something with beets, I didn’t care for that, but that is just me. Can’t wait to go back and order something off the regular menu.
I guess I was expecting a more upscale cuisine and ambiance considering the prices. I would say that perhaps we were seated in a booth in an enclosed porch and next to us were tables covered with tables cloths. We had complete dinners but noticed others ordering burgers. Perhaps we could consider this a good burger place and give it a second chance.
The service here was really great; right from the start we were greeted by the hostess by name. She knew who to expect from her reservation list; this made a nice first impression. The space is decorated in a way that exactly fits the area, in a huge old home. While it was a bit noisy, the booth we sat in made it feel private enough for conversation. The wait staff was fabulous, aware of our needs and generous in their attitude and demeanor with the diners. Food was delicious as well. I would go again, for sure.
