   Whilst the food could not be faulted we found the service to be lacking. We were presented with the a la carte menu but not the set price one we had seen advertised. When my sister in law asked about it the waiter brought 5 menus over, gave her one but not the rest of us, he put those on a shelf behind us! We thought this was very strange. For the rest of the evening we found we had to call the staff over if we wanted something, they were not very attentive. The setting is beautiful however and the food delicious, very good quality but service not worth the 12 1/2% that they put on the bill!

   My boyfriend and I dined on Valentine's Day in the evening. Upon arrival I was very impressed with the chandeliers and the layout of the room. It made a change not to have people eavesdropping on your conversation at the next table! The place was quite quiet but it did fill up soon and nearly most tables were occupied. The staff were very welcoming and humorous. The tables were romantically laid out with a single rose, plus a scattering of rose petals and a heart-shaped chocolate (from M&S!). We didn't bother with starters but both had pork on red cabbage which was different and very delicious. For dessert, I chose a chocolate selection which was very yummy, if a bit too sweet.

   Weekends in hotel restaurants can be quiet, especially over winter. However, the Oatlands Park only had 3/40 tables taken - it felt very uncomfortable in silence under vast Edwardian high ceilings. Food was ok, slightly unusual and excellent value with the 50% deal. Wine was very expensive. Service was ordinary and not four-star to match the hotels billing. Possibly a better experience midweek and later in the Summer when the hotel is fuller.

   Our first evening meal at Broadwater, a most pleasant TT dining experience for my wife and I. Nice and christmassy in the lobby/ bar area, the large/ elegant dining room was not busy and a little cold- However- the staff and food soon warmed us up- a nice soup and crusty bread starter, and my monkfish main course was a reasonable size, superbly presented. My wife had the mushroom risotto, which was fresh and filling. Even made room for the peanut butter brulee. Staff were professional and discrete. The dry white could have been both a. Chilled better, b. Slightly keener priced. But did not spoil the overall meal enjoyment. Based on this first visit,we will definitely return. Happy to recommend this deal to friends/colleagues.
