Steaks, scallops and lamb dinners were all delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was delightful.
Plain and simply a GREAT MEAL. We took another couple from Monterey to the Brickhouse. Chose here because of the better than average (in Bend) selection of seafood entrees. Half of us went seafood and half meat. We were all impressed with our meals. It is a bit pricey, but one will get high quality ingredients and preparation that costs more, but delivers. Try ‘em. You’ll like ‘em.
Bend first Friday dinner. Was pleasantly surprised we could get in at 8:15 on a poplar evening for eating out.
As always the food was good, My biggest complaint is that our server made us feel as though she wanted to turn the table. There were several open tables in the back section where we were seated but she was relentless on wanting to get our order. We ordered an appetizer and wanted to relax and enjoy it with a cocktail but she was on us about getting our dinner order. We had a busy week and just wanted to relax and chat over dinner...We’ll reconsider next time.
The restaurant is understaffed for table service. It took 15 minutes before a server came to take the drink order. When it arrived, one drink was incorrect and had to be redone. When the food was served, one plate was missing the rice which was supposed to be included. When we finally got the server back, he did get a helping of rice to add to the plate. The food was good, but the overall experience was disappointing.
Loved the Brickhouse! Wonderful steak, veggies and baked potato. Great wine recommendation. Will most definitely return.
Great table near window! Wonderful service and an overall great experience! Thank you!
All around excellent experience! The service was amazing and the food was even better. This will be our go to restaurant whenever we are in Bend.
Our meal was delicious and the service was perfect!
Always excellent as usual! Best cocktails at the bar we have had in a long time. I love the back room, great ambiance. We’ll be back!
Awesome. Steak was cooked perfectly and very tender. Absolutely worth it.
She forgot my clients order forgot two items and he goes there a lot had better meals there
I was worried at first because when we arrived, we found an eardrum busting band playing in the street. My 96 yr old Dad was ready to call it off and go home! But they found us a quiet spot in back room and when music was piped into the room a short time later, the very nice server immediately went and turned it down. Server was fantastic. We had lobster and scallops and the scallops were the excellently prepared and really impressed my Dad who is ready to go back and order scallops dinner right away! Normal noise would have been more than I like and would have driven my Dad out of building. Don't know why they feel need to pipe in music so that conversations are difficult to impossible. In my case however, as quickly as I spoke to the server about it, he immediately turned it down and we had a wonderful time.
On a very busy foodfest weekend we went here for a sit down dinner. My wife had the steak skewers and I had the rack of lamb. We had wine with dinner and then finished with a nice port wine for dessert. Service was prompt and friendly.
Reservation was easy food was good but not anything special and way overpriced. Ambience was totally lacking unless beer pub atmosphere is what you desire. Noise level was almost unbearable especially when waiters opened door to serve patio patrons. Service was good but not exceptional. Would not recommend for romantic or special occasion dining. Over priced and over rated.
On your entrees- fitch the jasmine rice- no imagination or flavor. Replace with couscous or polenta. This fits the quality of dinners served.
Always great food and service!
Good menu options, good food, good service, a little on the noise side as it fills up. Will most certainly go back next time we are in Bend.
My wife and I had an exceptional meal and great service from Nathaniel. The salmon was prepared to my personal taste and the chef accommodated every detail. My wife’s bolognaise was flavorful and generously optioned.
Great service and food. Really enjoyed ourselves.
What an amazing dinner! It has been 2 years - much too long. We had a phenomenal dinner at Brick House tonight! From the martini’s to wine to steaks - everyone had a wonderful meal. We will be back sooner for sure.
We highly recommend to anyone looking for great steaks, salad, cocktails, wine and sevice!
This was an anniversary dinner for my parents in law. My father in law was not happy with his food and called the manager over and complained. The manager chose to take $150 from the bill.
The waiter was the bar tender, he was great. My parents loved the food and the service :)
Great service. Good food and drinks. Food is overpriced for the quality.
They did not have our table available at our reserved time. So we had to sit at bar and wait. Our server Lillian was less then attentive. She seemed to be in a hurry and felt like she had no time for us. Never got the specials offered to us. We had to ask about the tomahawk we saw online. Then she couldn’t tell us about it.
Food took a long time to come out and steaks were over cooked. We didn’t send them back or say anything because we didn’t see her again for 15 minutes. They did taste good.
Great service, very good food and a perfect location. Very nice and pleasant dining atmosphere and outdoor dining available during warm weather months. Definitely on the pricier side for a full dinner with drinks, appetizers and dessert, but for special occasions it’s nice to splurge. Definitely will go back again.
My own fault - I should have said something right away - I knew as soon as I put my fork into the halibut it was very over-cooked. My husband later told me his Peppered Filet Tips were also over-cooked. Service was excellent, atmosphere was very nice - wish we both would have told them about our meals, I'm sure they would have fixed them.
Exceptional quality and preparation of our rack of lamb and halibut
A great restaurant for a special occasion. Menu offering was more than expected. Halibut was done to perfection. Good job!
Excellent experience. Even better than usual because we had a big table in the side room, nice and quiet. We had a very attentive server, and the food was cooked to perfection.
Very nice restaurant, with nice ambiance. The service was spot on and the food was awesome. It’s a bit expensive, but well worth it. Definitely would recommend The Brickhouse.
Food was excellent! We will definitely eat here again. I asked for asparagus instead of potatoes and winter vegetables on a $55 ribeye dinner and was up charged for 6 asparagus spears.
Lived here in Bend for 30 yrs and been to many restaurants. Zydeco has been our favorite but so many people said to try Brickhouse. I reserved through Opentable and shared that it was a special occasion; wedding anniversary.
Got to restaurant a bit early, checked in with hostess. She was quite young and first impression would say fairly unprofessional; especially for what we understood this restaurant to be. We were escorted to a table right by the door and I asked for a different table. We were asked if we'd be ok with the back room. Having never been here I said "sure". We should have stuck with the original table.
Water and bread were served quickly. I picked up iPad to order drinks. Got frustrated when I couldn't order. Turns out it was only for viewing: there should be a note on the iPad to say as such. Waiter came and advised. Drinks and appetizers ordered. Got a Macalan 12, Lemon drop for my wife and the garlic Brie appetizer. Delicious and served right away.
We then noticed that we were sitting next to a larger table with a very obnoxious group. Fbombs flying and very loud. Wasn't the best ambience.
My wife said her salmon was the best she's had. And for the record we've traveled to Europe and many places in the US, so this was a fine compliment to the food and chef. My ribeye was good, but not worth the $55 price. No one recognized the special occasion, so that was disappointing. They should just not set any expectation on that with the question.
In the end, our waiter was fantastic and really saved the evening. Brickhouse isn't worth the money. Although we hear their happy hour is great. Ultimately, we will probably stay with Zydeco. They just deliver on all aspects, all staff is courteous and professional, expensive food but totally worth it, great atmosphere
The back room is darker and a bit closed off from the rest of the establishment. It was nice, but I would have preferred windows. Our waiter was very good; pleasant and attentive. The drinks and dessert were wonderful and my entree (halibut) was good but somewhat lacking in flavor. My husband was extremely pleased with his filet and scallops, though. Overall, this was a nice experience and I’m sure we will be back.
Great service and food.
Excellent food and service.
We love the Brickhouse. Took some friends who had never been. Everything was fantastic! The food. The drinks. The service. We went on an early Sunday evening and the noise level was pretty low. It's hard to find a place in Bend that isn't energetic ... sometimes too energetic. It was a perfect evening. Thank you!
Disappointed in our overall experience this time around. The meals here are spendy, so the quality should always be top notch, and the quality was lacking this time. We were seated next to a large group that really needed their own room as they were so loud. We couldn't hear each other talk, which was unfortunate. My husband and I rarely get out because, you know....kids...
It was 20 minutes before our orders for drinks were taken because our waiter was very busy pleasing the large table. We spent $130 for dinner for two and I regretted it afterwards as we didn't have a stellar experience here. My meal I had ordered at a prior visit was different this time, not as tasty, and a smaller portion size. With so many good restaurants here in Bend I likely wont dine here again. We walked away feeling a bit dissatisfied and I had a horrible stomach ache all night from my food.
Always a great choice for a good meal with friends! Not too loud, so you can hold a conversation, but lively enough. Something for everyone and nice selection of starters to share. Service is friendly, yet professional!
