Private party facilities
The Brewer's Art is a restaurant and microbrewery located in a nineteenth century townhouse in historic Mount Vernon in Baltimore. After many customer requests, we began offering limited in-house catering services a few years ago. Our elegant space, freshly prepared contemporary continental cuisine, award-winning house-made ales and excellent wine list, combined with very reasonable prices, have made us a popular spot for everything from rehearsal dinners to business meetings and holiday parties. Due to certain physical limitations of our unique space, we are unable to offer private rooms for parties, although our back dining room will seat a maximum of 40 for a sit down dinner. Fees vary according to the season, but are based on average sales for that day of the week and time of the year.

Spring pea soup they made vegan for me. There aren't a ton of vegan options, but they are willing to make the vegetarian dishes vegan, and they have incredible vegetable dishes in general.

Very diverse food selection. Will introduce you to new combinations of old favorites. A new learning experience.

I've eaten here many times before, but this was the first time we had issues. We were the first to be seated (early reservation) in the very back, every other party to arrive was then seated from back to front as well, increasing noise and decreasing privacy when the rest of the restaurant was empty. We order appetizer, when we were only half done the entree arrived. Again, we were the first to be seated, the server could plainly see that we were still eating our appetizer, but decided to serve the entree anyway. We ordered rib eye medium rare, it was prepared very rare. Kinda worked out since that had to go back and we were able to finish our appetizer. Mixed greens with steak was almost 100% spinach, not mixed, but tasted fine.
Overall mediocre visit, if this was my first time, I probably wouldn't come back, so I chalked it up to perhaps a newer server.

I have been a fan of the Brewer's Art for several years. This recent visit was the first time that I have been disappointed. The food was unappetizing, and my dish (Scallops) was cold, as if it had been sitting around for 10-15 minutes. One of my party's dish was inedible, and all were full of endive - too much. The menu is no longer presented in a book of its own, just a sheet of paper. There was no bread & butter offered or served. The wine list is now poor, with very few choices, 4 or 5 cheap bottle-capped reds and a few expensive bottles. Nothing in the $40-50 range. I won't be back anytime soon. Pity. - DB

The food was absolutely amazing, although our courses and drinks were quite ill-timed and spaced, which really put a wrench in our dining experience. The food and beverages, as well as the ambiance, were great, though, so we'll be back again.

Two of us Ordered steaks and they came too rare so we sent them back to the kitchen to cook them a little longer. Much to my surprise they returned with two completely new dinners and, to add icing on the cake, gave us a free dessert for the inconvenience. We thought this was extraordinary service and very much appreciated. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately the vegetarian and seafood options have been mostly taken off the menu. We were 3 vegetarians and only had 1 thing to choose from. No chicken dish either. Seems like they're back-sliding!

I was extremely disappointed in the fact there was not 1 fish entree on the menu! Most items were meat based! I had the choice of mussels or scallops, only because I eat seafood. If you are a vegetarian or vegan skip this restaurant.

Have had great meals here before this night they lost our entree order and we waited over an hour to get food. We had to ask for bread to hold us over. Entrees were comp but wasn’t a great dining experience or on par with previous meals.

My friend and I stopped in before a recent Baltimore Speaker Series and enjoyed a leisurely dinner. We arrived early (5:30) to avoid the rush before the Speaker Series crowd arrived around 6. We each chose two appetizers rather than an entree, and we chose very well. We both started with the roasted pear salad which was a very good size with plenty of pear and pecans and just the right amount of sheep cheese. My friend enjoyed the "small" order of mussels, which had at least 25-30 good size mussels. She had to dig a bit to find the sauce, but once found, it was perfect! I had the wild mushroom toast, and it was excellent--a bit rich and very filling. With time to spare, we shared one of the best desserts I've had in a while -- earl grey panna cotta with a blood orange/lemon curd and pistachio creme. Also very rich but so worth it!

We were impressed by the quality of the foods and the excellent preparations. Our waiter was
expert at answering our questions about various beers and how the chef prepared the menu
items. we needed help with. We will definitely be going back.

The beer selection/quality was very good. The food was pretty good, but left something to be desired. The ambiance/decor was excellent, but the service was very slow. Questionable, if I would ever go back.

The dessert was delicious, but we both ordered the steak and were disappointed. The steak was very tough, to the point I didn't finish mine. The beer was excellent and our server was great. The rosemary fries were also very good, just the steak itself was awful. The restaurant itself was pretty cool and looked like it had a nice bar area. We were seated very quickly.

First time visit to the restaurant - went because of favorable open table reviews. Perhaps it was just an off night, but it was very disappointing. Yes, the restaurant is "brew-centric," and it is winter, but I found that the menu weighs too much to "heavy" items: few salads and no fish entrees. We did order the scallops entree, but the dish came out ice cold: couldn't eat them and had to return it. The venison meatballs entree fared a bit better, although it was just lukewarm. Finally, the service, while friendly, was mediocre. We told the server we were in a time crunch when we first sat down (had tickets to a show), but the food took forever to arrive. When we asked about the status of an appetizer we ordered, the server said that that appetizer takes longer to prepare -- it would have been nice to have known that at the time we placed the order, given that we had told the server we had a time issue! Finally, and while the restaurant was very crowded (which is a good thing on a Tuesday evening), it was extremely noisy: do not expect to be able to easily carry a conversation here. On the positive side, they took back the inedible scallops without complaint, and comped us a glass of wine.

Brewer's art delivers phenomenal food and hospitality every time. A carefully curated menu, great brews, and an environment that is calming and romantic all at once. The soup, spaghettini with slow egg, and the duck confit were phenomenal.

Our Only disappointment is the menu is very limited in choices/selections. There wasn’t any fish only seafood. Only Scallops. Many items have pork or ham as a part of the preparation. Waiter didn’t help to make the vegetarian dish sound exciting. However, the celery root soup was wonderful.

This restaurant is trying so hard to be “all that”, but after two visits in 4 months I can tell it is not!
Very disappointed with my meal, as were the others in my group. No chicken on the menu was the first surprise, and then burnt starters and other items served were inexcusable.
We had to ask for bread with our meals, but when it came it was excellent. All other food items were fair if that. Portion sizes were tiny at not filing.
The waiter was excellent, his timing was outstanding, he was charming and very professional.

Came here for dinner to celebrate an anniversary. Everything was absolutely delicious. We loved the apps we got- Beef Tartare and the “burnt ends.” For our entree we both got the streak frites- a fantastic amount of food and we both ended up taking half of it home for leftovers. The chocolate proletary torte was divine. When we left we forgot our leftovers at the table and waiter ran them out to us- fantastic service! Would definitely recommend!!

It is always a pleasure to dine at the Brewer's Art. The beer and wine selection is excellent and the food very good. It was restaurant week and the 3-course dinner formula for 33 $ was a great deal. The service is also very attentive.

The food was good--there just wasn't much of it. I know it was Restaurant Week, and that portions are sometimes smaller, but, honestly, a serving of scallops was 2. 2! And they weren't big--they were the size of a quarter.
Also, a full kitchen should be able to fry up a few onions for a burger. My burger came with nothing but a piece of lettuce because I requested fried onions, and "the kitchen doesn't do that".

As usual, the food was interesting. The salad I had with the foie gras was outstanding, though for $18 they could have given more than a fingernail of meat. Cheeses were unusual and well ripened. All went well until it was time for the check, when our server disappeared. The tables were emptying out and by the time I decided to ask another server, neither waiter nor host were around. We waited 15 minutes before we could find someone, who then added a glass of wine to the bill that we had not ordered. It spoiled the evening for us

My friend wanted to go to For her favorite beer. What better week to go than restaurant week.
The food ,beer and cocktails were excellent but we only had one glitch. The restaurant didn’t seem busy for a Wednesday night. We had to wait a bit for our appetizers.
Otherwise our waiter was great.

Restaurant week - sounded like a good brunch to try. Wasn’t very kid friendly, but it is named Brewer’s Art, so that’s on me. They ran out of straws by the time we arrived at 2:30pm. They sat us right away, but it took over 10min to be attended to and not until we inquired as to the slow service. Food was good. Donuts were amazing! Yum.

Fair value, good ambiance, and very good food, but the outstanding service made for an overall outstanding experience. I went for my birthday dinner with my wife and two toddler daughters. I was greeted with a card with a free house beer as a birthday gift, and our server, Carl, was (again) outstanding. Would return again, especially for restaurant week, but perhaps only if we were seated in Carl's section...
