The Brewer's Art is a restaurant and microbrewery located in a nineteenth century townhouse in historic Mount Vernon in Baltimore. After many customer requests, we began offering limited in-house catering services a few years ago. Our elegant space, freshly prepared contemporary continental cuisine, award-winning house-made ales and excellent wine list, combined with very reasonable prices, have made us a popular spot for everything from rehearsal dinners to business meetings and holiday parties. Due to certain physical limitations of our unique space, we are unable to offer private rooms for parties, although our back dining room will seat a maximum of 40 for a sit down dinner. Fees vary according to the season, but are based on average sales for that day of the week and time of the year.

I have been to the Brewer's Art before but was not wowed this time. The food was good, but not as outstanding as it was the first time I came. The server was very nice, but we did have to wait a bit for the check. Overall, we still had a very good experience.

We had a fine meal during restaurant week for $33 - how can you beat that. The food was terrific and so were the beer and cider. Our waiter was very helpful but not intrusive. A fine dining experience.

Great food, but portions are very small for the price. Example; I ordered scallops for $28. My plate arrived with 2 scallops, which were each roughly the size of a quarter.

Date night with the Mrs and we wanted something good. The 3 course meal with beer pairings was wonderful. My wife recommends the Burnt Pieces ( a mix of chard vegetables and barbecue). Wonderful!!!

A little disappointed. Service was slow and not too friendly today. Lamb had way too much fat on it. Beer was delicious.

Had lunch New Years Day. Was way beyond my expectations. Had La Porchetta, brilliant layering, great sauce, and extremely reasonable for what it was. Perfect service, unobtrusive but on top of our needs, down to earth.

I love Brewer's Art beer and alwasy enjoy the restaurant and the ambiance it has. Everything we ate was tasty. My only recommendation is that that they warm the bread. It adds a touch to the meal and especially the appetizers.

Christmas Eve dinner. Waitstaff in good form and attentive for having to work that night. I must say the Burnt Ends App is fabulous. You may want a few more chunks of beef in there though-seemed a bit light on the ends. Rye pasta was well done. Mussels delish-here I might suggest a larger, miore shallow bowl in odrer to get to the yummy broth. Such a large serving is wonderful but could not scoop the broth until half way down the dish. Fish was done nicely as was the steak. So we had a bit of everything and it was all very good. Crab dip too. Food here never disapoints. Not sure if it was just the wet dark night but the front 2 rooms are looking abit worn and tired. I am no interior designer but itjust seems like the space could use a lift. Thanks for being open on Christmas Eve. Happy New Year to you all

The restaurant is in a converted historic building with many late 19th century touches all around. The varied and innovative menu was fun, and the presentation of dishes piqued one's interest in the contents. The noise level made it difficult to have an intimate conversation, but the location just steps from the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall makes it a great find for before or after performance dining.

The service was pretty bad when we were there. It wasn't that busy, I think they were simply understaffed and it may have just been an off day. The brunch menu was okay, small portions and not many healthy options. The house brew beer is good and the ambiance is great. I think for dinner/lunch the food would be better. It's worth it!

Great dining. We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and he is a crafter of beer and excited to try their beer. Enjoyed the beer, ambience and unique food choices. Food was delivered hot and they were able to accommodate my celiac disease with no problem. Wait staff was educated and attentive. The staff seemed to be a well cohesive team. I would definitely go back!

Strange difficult menu and the food was just ok. I had the rib eye and it was blah, certainly no steakhouse quality rib eye for the price. the fries were a mess, all bits and pieces, not fresh whole looking fries.
The others entrees were well liked, a pasta dish and two apps.
Server was good but, without good food, its hard to like
Would not rush back

We've been to Brewer's Art multiple times over the years but this past weekend's visit was a disappointment. In the past, the menu had multiple selections that we wanted to try. Not this time - disappointed with the change.

Good winter time spot. The menu is geared to the season with Lots of rich flavors; decor has a warm feel. Everything was good, with the exception of the crab dip which was kind of meh,
but the waiter took it off. The service was on point. Attentive and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Recommended.

I've had better meals there last time I dined there about 4 years ago. Lamb neck was way to fatty. Long lapse between apps (ok seasonal salad)til when mains were served. Partners cod was tasty though warm potato leek vichysois base it was served on tasted more like a turnip soup. Beers served with dinner though where award winning Lovely dining rooms

Brewer's Art provides its own excellent brews (from the brewery adjacent and below) and a wide assortment of bottled beers, as well as first class cuisine, in an old world setting that can't be beat. The interior is just what you might expect from the grand Victorian entrance. The bars are a bit noisy, but who cares given the great drinks and food! The dining rooms are quieter, though they fill up quickly, so reservations are a must. The food is superb: try the crispy duck leg confit and the very generous helping of mussels in crab butter sauce. Truly an Old World Baltimore gem.

Dinner before a show at the Lyric, which is a ten minute walk away. Only problems we had were the limited menu and they did not offer any bread - should not have to ask for it with a $120 total bill with tip. Food was good but should offer scaled down items for customers who have limited time because of an event.

Great old former mansion building. Serving up imaginative food and drinks. As one would expect, they have excellent beer, from average strength to over-the-line.

I love coming here for special occasions. The food always exceeds expectations, the menu has something for everyone, and the service is always phenomenal. The ambience is intimate and great for conversation. The three-course Wednesday Beer Dinner is probably the best value in the city, so make sure to check that out.

The hard surfaces and too close tables make conversation impossible. We usually overlook that because the food is good, but this time the food was just odd. Too much dressing on a caesar salad, some weird little mushroom pieces and corn sludge detracting from otherwise nice tuna. The filet in the steak frites required a steak knife, and it had a funny-tasting sauce on the side -- definitely not bearnaise. Disappointing. The chocolate torte was wonderful.

The food was excellent but took quite a while to come to the table. Our waiter was attentive, nonetheless, and it was overall an enjoyable night out. We were also surprised at the food choices a bit... we were of the impression that it was more burgers and every day fare. The menu we were given was more upscale, but you can ask for the "bar" menu for burgers etc.
