The Brewer's Art is a restaurant and microbrewery located in a nineteenth century townhouse in historic Mount Vernon in Baltimore. After many customer requests, we began offering limited in-house catering services a few years ago. Our elegant space, freshly prepared contemporary continental cuisine, award-winning house-made ales and excellent wine list, combined with very reasonable prices, have made us a popular spot for everything from rehearsal dinners to business meetings and holiday parties. Due to certain physical limitations of our unique space, we are unable to offer private rooms for parties, although our back dining room will seat a maximum of 40 for a sit down dinner. Fees vary according to the season, but are based on average sales for that day of the week and time of the year.

Really enjoyed our dinner at The Brewer’s Art. All the beer is brewed onsite and was very tasty. Food was great. Had the Indecision Platter for an appetizer. It was great. Nice selection of meats, cheeses and olives. Wife had a burger and I had the steak. Everything was cooked very well! Fries are delicious. Very good experience. Recommend.

The beer was terrific. Worth the visit. Caesar salad was very good. The cheeseburgers were OK. The Fries were cold and not very flavorful. The server seemed too busy

They were out of the one menu item I was looking forward to and that my friend wanted to order as well, as well as out of several other items. Although we said we didn’t have questions when given the menu, the waitress also didn’t remember to tell us they were out until we tried to order. Food was good otherwise.

Great time on Valentine’s Day, typically a night where the kitchen and staff are stressed. Not here though. Reasonable prices, tasty Steak Frites and very accommodating waitstaff. Also had a well-crafted pre-dinner Negroni at the bar.

Lobster bisque contained no lobster. The Rockfish was decent, but not worth the price for its size. It came with an odd gelatinous potato side dish that was horrible. Dessert was fine. I had a cinnamon sugar pretzel, but it honestly wasn't as good as getting one from Auntie Anne's.

Love the Brewer’s Art. This particular time was restaurant week and I feel the quality of the food slipped a little. The chicken was pretty dry. But I always love their Caesar salad and the cocktails did not disappoint. Service was great even though it was clearly a busy night with our server trying to get several tables out quickly for a show!

Had hoped for a larger menu to choose from and ended up with a burger that was too charred and Fries had a wee bit too much garlic. Hubs had chicken sandwich that was just ok. For my gluten free friends the cider selection was minimal. The ambience was wonderful and our server was great but food was very disappointing. We had been there for drinks a few years ago when we were in town and had hoped for a great dining experience. I’d just suggest this place for a quick cocktail simply because of the decor.

One of our favorite places in the city! Great food and beer (they brew this own), good staff, and just a fun place to go. Last time I went I was disappointed in my food because it was (very) overcooked - I ordered my steak medium rare, and it came back between medium-well and well-done, but my fiancee's came back perfect (also ordered medium rare). I've always enjoyed the food in the past, so despite this I'll definitely be back.

Disappointed to see that Brewers Art has dropped it restaurant stance to become a bar with food. Missed their full menu in the restaurant, which now offers the bar’s pub food selection. Still, good beer and good burgers, but not what I was expecting.

The usually reliable Brewer's Art let us down Friday night. Young server was polite and earnest, but seemed so new to the business had didn't grasp the fundamentals yet. Cocktail was weak and insipid. The kitchen would not substitute polenta (server pronounced it "polento") for pasta at the request of my wife, who must avoid gluten because "polento" was only for the nightly special and they didn't have any extra. (Short on polenta? That's like being short on rice or bread. Please.) Entrees were pedestrian. Dessert was unbearably sweet and rich. The menu seems to have been revamped and dumbed down, turning what had been a creative restaurant into a glorified burger joint. The place was packed, so that may have been a good business decision, but they may have lost our symphony night business. Too bad.

Burger and Salad with steak were fine. Special of airline chicken with polenta, green beans and rapini took up exactly half the plate, divided down the middle. The 4 green beans were uncooked. The polenta was just enough to moisten the bites of chicken, no more. It wasn't that the dish lacked flavor, it just seemed very poorly plated and poorly done, as if they were running out of ingredients but still wanted to put out an another serving or two. Perhaps better to just be 'out' of it or substitute sides that the kitchen had enough of.

The setting is beautiful. We admired the gorgeous highly polished walls. The menu is much simpler and less ambitious...not a bad thing...since we were there last. The food was delicious, if a bit salty. The spiced fig ice cream was to die for, very rich and creamy. It felt like I was eating spiced fig creamy butter. And, of course, my favorite ale, Resurrection, was on tap! No complaints there!

Service started great. As the night got busier our waitress was not as attentive. We asked got the dessert menu and never got it, which we were surprised because she alerted is in advance that if we were going to a show (which we were) things get busy and that kitchen gets slower. I didn't expect the wait staff would be as well. I had the lamb special. Very tasty, well prepared. The rapini served with it was average.

We had an excellent server for our dinner at Brewer's Art. She welcomed us for our first time to the location, We purchased a Flight of Beers and enjoyed them all. The Restaurant was lined with dark wood and books. When we asked our Server the history of the building she immediately handed us a paper outlining the history of the beautiful building. My husband is a history buff, so this added touch was extraordinary.

Way too noisy to hear my companion speak. Very limited menu. Would have appreciated more food choices. Perhaps this is more of a beer place. The hamburger was good. The apple and squash soup was delicious, but luke warm. The veggie burger was fine; the tomato jam made it a cut above normal.

Make reservations. The bar area is noisy. Ask to be in a quiet section if noise bothers you. The Caesar Salad with white Anchovy was prepared to order, the light dressing made it remarkable. Mussels were very good and worth a repeat. Our service was very, very good. A limited but diverse menu.
