Service was the worst. Spilled coffee and didn’t clean, forgot our order, forgot our table, never checked in on us, never brought a bill. None of the waiters, busters, manager or hosts noticed.
The food is always rich, interesting and delicious. Service was great as well.
Dinner was fine, but our party was rushed and asked to give up the table, resulting a rather bad taste at the end of the meal.
Great atmosphere, enjoyed Vinyl Monday. Food was excellent
The food is awesome, as usual. Lamb Burger is amazing, the pancakes were amazing. I can go on all day son.
Excellent service, nice food, unhurried nice evening.
A bit too loud for good conversation. May have been because we were sitting in an area with lower ceilings. Otherwise, food and service are always great.
The food was disappointing - not as good as in previous visits. The check was brought to the table before we had been offered coffee or dessert, giving us the impression that they just wanted to turn the table.
I love, love, love the Breslin! I used to work in the gastropub as a back server and I know how many efforts the chef and the cooks put into creating the outstanding food. Also I worked elbow to elbow with servers and bartenders who are still working there and all the guys are amazing! They are very attentive and professional. I can't say that I'm a regular guest in the Breslin but sometimes I feel that I miss it so much that I either drop by for just one drink or book a table to spent at least a couple hours. A new season dish - Roasted pumpkin soup - is DELICIOUS!!! Don't miss a chance to try it! Also I ordered a couple new deserts - Concord grape sorbet and Brioche with a pumpkin glaze. Love it! Thanks for the wonderful meal and for the great evening! And I'd like to say special thanks to Robert, a badass server, who has recommended a new white wine on the menu, beautiful and bright Greco di Tufo, which perfectly accompanied the meal.
Visited for Thanksgiving lunch and had a wonderful time. Great food and wine at a fantastic restaurant.
Disappointing service - struggled to order more coffee and to even get the bill at the end of the meal.
I took my parents here for dinner and we all loved it! The lamb burger was outstanding. Very cool restaurant, has a lot of character. I will definitely make return visits!
overrated name... good brunch food. lack of discipline with staff. staff wearing baseball caps. really? ball caps?
cramped 2 top that rocked back and forth even with wedges. just thought it would be more high end. april should step up the staff look and discipline. wont go back because there are too many other choices in ny.
Terrible and arrogant service.
I’ve been here a few times but this was my first time coming in for breakfast. The wait staff left a lot to be desired as far as energy and enthusiasm but as usual the food was delicious.
I thought it was kind of a cool place but a bit pricey.
Smoked salmon with the roe and chips
Pear and endive salad.
Blood sâusage with quail egg ơn toast
Beef and stilton pie
Lamb burger with thrice cooked fries
Sunchokes cooked in beef fat
@aprilbloomfield has michalin star because its deserved.
Very poor service.
We had to leave and get entrees to go.
Room is way too dark and extremely noisy.
Food was just okay.
Really has fallen off from where it used to be. Food is middling in quality and options very limited.
Our server was great. The food and wine completely hit the spot and Liam is a pleasure always.
Had a Sunday brunch with friend. First thing that we noticed was that dining room was too dark for bright Sunday afternoon. This is British restaurant so we wanted to have fish and chips, but waiter said it was out of stock... their signature menu. I ordered steak instead and portion was too small comparing to the price. Waiter was always nowhere and difficult to ask something. No reason to come back or recommend.
This is one of the wrist dining experiences I've had. The full English breakfast I ordered was extremely mediocre and our foods took around 45 minutes to get to us when the restaurant is only 2/3 full. The waiters we not paying attention to us at all and sometimes would forget about our request. The pancake we had was the only good thing we ordered. Also the restaurant was probably a wrong choice for brunch since it's rather darker on the inside, but that's on us for making that choice.
I never understand why a person who arrives first for a larger group reservation is not seated when there are tons of empty tables available.
Food was delicious. Server did not box up the other plate to take home which was half a pork chop, and we specifically asked for the two entrees to be boxed separately as one was a rib eye and the other was a pork chop.
Delicious food with a fun atmosphere. The decor has a unique character.
Lamb burger is a must-have. Great fries too.
Ate here this weekend and while the food was good I will never come back or recommend this restaurant. I ordered the lamb shank and it had a one inch piece of bone mixed in with the food. While eating I felt the bone in my throat and started coughing and choking. I luckily was able to get it out of my throat without it getting stuck. I showed the waitress the bone and she was very dismissive and treated this like it wasn't even a problem or issue! Completely ridiculous that such a bone was IN my food, caused me serious discomfort, could have harmed me, and that the waitstaff was so dismissive. I was not compensated in any way for a really egregious error, or even given an apology! I will never come back here again.
I'm usually not a stickler for service as long as the food is good. But the service here is proactively smug and incompetent, undermining any potentially redeeming qualities of the food and admittedly good coffee and desserts.
1. Waited 15 minutes for table at brunch despite a reservation and plenty of empty tables.
2. Food was taking awhile so I ask our long haired mustachioed waiter (Fabio) if he could bring out our scones and toast first. His response: "I told you you should have ordered the bread basket."
3. Tables were so rickety our coffee was spilling all over the place.
4. They didn't have pork sausage or their house made English muffins -- during brunch.
5. I order the Full English. They offer to sub lamb bacon for pork sausage and forget the lamb bacon. One waiter offers to cancel the lamb bacon from our bill rather than bring it out. Huh?
Two waiters and a manager later, I get my lamb bacon.
I tell the host and Fabio that it's a birthday and they agree to bring out a few desserts with a candle as a surprise. They totally forget (or worse, maybe they didn't), clear our table, and bring out dessert menus. I remind a different waiter (Fabio abandoned us after the bread basket exchange) who has no clue what's going on. Finally, they bring out the desserts, but one at a time before the actual cake with the candle arrives. So much for the surprise, and of course, no apology.
We all shook our heads and laughed because, well, the service here is just that -- a joke.
The Breslin was very disappointing. While the atmosphere is nice with the English Pub theme and the signature ribeye steak is great, all the other food was very ordinary and quite fatty. The service was generally inattentive and sub-par for a restaurant of this level.
Food was good. The terrine board was different. Really liked the Cast beer.
We had made a reservation, and when we arrived the table wasn't ready. Not a problem, and we were directed to the bar to wait. Seated ourselves at the bar and were totally ignored by the bar tender, whom seemed more interested in chatting to a group of girls then serving customers. After 20 minutes of being ignored despite my best efforts to gain the bar keepers attention our table was ready. We both had the lamb burger which were well worth the hype, and the service from the waiter was excellent, a vast improvement on his colleague at the bar. Overall a great meal.
One of the best burgers ever! A must stop for any burger lover.
Too noisy for a business discussion. Service OK, but required getting waitstaff attention on several occasions.
An unforgettable night. After having finished the marathon with an pr my boy friend proposed to me in The Breslin and I said yessss!!!
He'd ordered the best champagne and we ate the most delicious piece of meat ever! A wonderful night.
The server's attitude was atrocious. The food was presented so poorly and without any artistic merit. It was edible but by the time we received it, we just wanted to leave. We would never go back--deeply disappointed.
Delicious, great service and atmosphere. We had a wonderful meal with friends and family, however at times the music was too loud for normal conversation around the table. Turning it down into more of a background sound would have made the experience perfect.
For breakfast, very expensive with small portions... But great ambiance & great food. If price is no object, good option for you
Four of us had dinner here before attending a show at Madison Square Garden which is an easy walk from the restaurant. Service, food and drinks were all ecellent. The noise level was nice for conversation. Wonderful place for dinner with friends.
Good food not great but not bad value. A bit heavy and good for the winter and growing ones love handles.
Food was outstanding, and the service was exceptional. I wish i knew my waitresses name so i could publicly commend her, but she was really great. And the seafood sausage was amazing!
