The Brentwood Restaurant and Lounge
black booths line the walls of the candle-lit room giving off an inviting, comfortable feeling.
Great ambience! The food is fantastic, and I definitely recommend it. I will be back for sure :)
This is one of favorite places to go! The food is amazing and the place is beautiful! We highly recommend
servers not at up to par for a high end restaurant.
Great restaurant! Very comfortable, dimly lit, good menu, nice service. I always enjoy coming here. Good place to meet friends because you can actually hear each other! The menu has something for everyone.
Great as always. One of our go to places.
I ordered the chopped salad, it was small and mainly lettuce I could barely find the meat and cheese. It was a 24 dollar rip off
My favorite restaurant on the west side. Food is fantastic and consistent
Fantastic. Thank you!
food is excellent
people watching is very strong
they must have raised their prices, it was very expensive
I love this restaurant. The food is excellent and the ambient is wonderful. The only issue is that it is fairly loud when the restaurant is full - which it almost always is. Otherwise, it's a great place.
Waiter was absolutely terrible. He didn’t come over and say hi or take a drink order for at least 10 min. When he finally came over he dropped water (no ice) and walked away. Again, no greeting. He did this twice. When he finally came over he immediately asked if we wanted to order food. He didn’t have any idea what was on your menu. It was a joke. He basically read ya your menu. When my friend ask if your salads were gluten free he gave us a yes but it was clear he had zero idea. He took forever to do anything. He didn’t ask how our food was. I would’ve complained but I was with a group who didn’t want to complain even though we all agreed he was terrible. It appeared as though he had never been a waiter which shocks me for this caliber of a restaurant but having been a waitress it seemed clear to me he didn’t know how to wait on people in a nicer restaurant. This was the worst service I’ve had at Brentwood and I love your restaurant. I will come back but next time I would ask for a different waiter or complain.
Hadn't been in a long time but had a business meeting there the other night and it was perfect. A restaurant where you can hear each other speak is rare these days. Food and service and drinks were all excellent.
As usual, we had a wonderful evening at The Brentwood. We always feel well taken care of by the maître d' and the wait staff. Love the table that we get and the food is terrific.
Drove up from Seal Beach , special place - great food , high quality- not fancy ... just perfect
One of my favorite spots but it just wasn’t great tonight. Food lacked taste, needed salt or something. They seemed to change preparations from the usual. Our server wasn’t super friendly or fun and she kinda seemed distracted. It was fine enough. It also was xmas eve so maybe that’s why it was not as good as usual
My local fave
We shared many items, and they were gracious enough to split items for us, which was lovely. Food was delicious.
Service very good, and they did not interrupt every 5 minutes! Didn’t rush the courses either.
The four of us had really good food. We were moderately surprised by the price on the wines.
I meet a friend every few months at Brentwood Restaurant. I like the food. I think the customer service is terrible. The servers are unwelcoming and not very gracious. I find this generally to be the case.
recently went to The Brentwood after an afternoon concert at Contrapuntal Hall. The food, as always, was exceptional. We brought a friend who'd never been and was quite impressed by the ambiance, service, and his delicious steak. We also enjoyed the tomahawk pork chop (hard to keep that deliciously moist) and the lamb ribs - all phenomenal. Beet/goat cheese salad was the bomb, as well as the asparagus and caesar. Potatoes galette that came with lamb ribs were tender and flavorful. French fries were crispy and deserving of being alongside a premium piece of meat. It's filled to capacity for a very good reason. Always on our "go to" list for treating ourselves or those we'd love to share a wonderful evening with.
Good crowd, good bar scene - food and service were terrific
Not happy they served the appetizers with our
Main meal. We never had that happen at any restaurant
One of the best burgers in town:9 oz 50/50 filet/short rib. Great grilled caesar salad. Friendly, informative wait staff. Wide menu selection. Nice ambience with a changing display of interesting art. Can get noisy when the restaurant fills up. Careful of the booths on the north wall-heavy on the air conditioning.
As usual, we had a wonderful time at The Brentwood. We were well taken care of by the maître d and, the waitperson, Sarah. The food was delicious. And we love how cozy it is.
Dark and romantic. Great vibe. Great service from the front of house all the way back.
Birthday! Fabulous service ambience food wine and soft New York style music. 5 Stars!!!
Finding a restaurant these that is kind of old school, quiet, intimate dining, where the tables on not on top of each other, where the noise level allows for conversation without strain (even for someone who wears hearing aids), is difficult. Add to that, my wife and I are vegans - vegetable sides or vegetable platters are terrific. The BR&L is perfect on all counts. PLUS they make great martinis!
Bruce Marder is really hitting the cover off the ball here. I had the lamb rib special with roasted potatoes and my wife had the cioppino special. We ordered a glass of Chianti to go with it, except the host visited our table to suggest that we opt for a cheaper Cotes du Rhône that he was excited about and suggesting to everyone that evening. He was right. The wine was exceptional. Our meals were extraordinary. On top of it all, our waiter was dissatisfied with our wait on the enteees and compted the dessert. Wow! Great meal in every sense.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant since the 70’s. I will give it another shot, but Friday night we had perhaps the worst waiter we’ve ever had. The food and overall experience suffered because of it!
The service was terrible. The food was good but took so long to come that the meal was less satisfying. It was very large portions however. The noise level was very high, and it was very dark. I recommend this for expense accounts and in the winter.
One of my favorites.
Always a favorite for our Brentwood friends!
A little noisy, didn’t have our wine selection and service was a little slow. Food was good.
Love the atmosphere. I ordered one of their specials (fish stew) that was tasty but minuscule. I wish I stuck with the classics there
the Brentwood was good as it always is. Try the chocolate cookies!!
I had a hamburger which was a bit over grilled. Friend had a chopped salad that she did not like. It was sent back ( not charge for same). Nice. She ordered something else, which at this point, she decided to take home. The waiter needs more training. He reached over me to remove finished dinner plates. He them was going to use another friend's same wine glass for another order of wine. I stopped that! Very bad to use the same glass.
Service was pretty pathetic for the prices-brought our check and forgot I had ordered desserts.
Steak was not memorable- doubtful it’s really prime meat.
At least the music was good.
