The Bottle Ratings and Reviews
Our experience was tight!
The food was average, but the restaurant was very tight & crowded.
We were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary.
We added a special request for reservations - 22nd wedding anniversary!
The dining experience was tight: we were seated at a small table in between 2 large parties. We requested a table in the corner after being escorted to our seats. We were told that none were available.
There was no place to hang our coats, we had to move them twice (along with other coats). The waiters moved tables x2 to accommodate other parties, waiters were weaving in around tables to deliver /serve drinks & food.
.The waiter apologized for the tightness.
We are both military veterans, we don’t mind being along side anyone. But, this was a special night for the 2 of us.
My parents and I came here for my birthday, and we loved the atmosphere and ambiance. My mother wanted to know where the owners had purchased the artisan-crafted mirrors on the wall, and the chef and owner actually came out to our table to talk with us about them, giving us the name of the shop that had made them. It was a lovely experience, one of my favorite ones in Huntsville. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the chocolate dessert was a pure treat.
The good. Lamb chops and filet. I also received the table I requested on my open table reservation
The not so good Pork Chop on the tough side and the Black Grouper which was a no recommendation and extremely overpriced
The Great. Cheese plate, Chocolate Bell dessert and service.
First meal there 3 weeks ago was a 5 star. This visit was a 3 star.
In our online reservation and via telephone, I made a special request and made it clear it was a wedding anniversary dinner. Arrived about 15 mins early, and I was very disappointed my request wasn’t met and we were stuck at a high top in the bar in an area that was freezing cold.
We will probably go back, but I was very disappointed at the lack of their willingness/ability to honor simple requests they would have made the night more special.
The Bottle provides a unique, upscale atmosphere in downtown Huntsville. The food is amazing, which should be expected from the price, but what sets the Bottle apart is the service. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and always prompt with service whenever we needed it. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a great dinner with a tremendous wine selection!
Second time dining here - New York Strip was tough chewy and under cooked..... not just mine but everyone’s at our table. VERY disappointed.
Xmas party downstairs so we were seated upstairs.
Our waiter rushed us through dinner- not very knowledgeable about the menu.
Well good was superb (and better then last time we were there a couple years ago so we will be back sooner next time). But it was bush league in the ambiance they are trying to create/maintain that they had no selection of hot teas to speak of and no black tea at all.
Service was great, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Dessert selection, in my view , was underwhelming especially as there were no fruity or seasonal choices that I clocked.
But perhaps I am nitpicking. Overall a great experience but pricey.
When I tell you that if I could eat, fall asleep, wake up, and eat again all day at this restaurant, I would - I mean it. This whole meal, start to finish, was the best meal I’ve ever had in my entire life. I never wanted it to end and I am so upset I couldn’t get dessert because it looked and sounded amazing.
Daniel was fantastic. The drinks were amazing. The appetizer was to die for. The salads were PERFECT. The entrees were over far too soon - if I could have left my date and taken home the rack of lamb, I would have. I mean it. Buckle up, lamb. We’re going on an adventure (an adventure to my tummy).
So many times during the meal, my date and I said that this is our new favorite restaurant. We are DEFINITELY coming back.
OH MY GOD I JUST REALIZED WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN DESSERT TO GO. OH PAST ME, SO YOUNG. SO FOOLISH. SO FULL.
Another wonderful dinner at The Bottle! My husband and I both had the filet Mignon and thought it was one of the best filets that we have eaten anywhere. Wonderful service, great location, LOVE the valet parking right out front, and ambiance is perfect! We will go back many many times!
We'd never have found this lovely restaurant without OpenTable. Great food, outstanding service, considering what we usually pay for French cuisine the prices are reasonable. We travel to Huntsville a few times a year and The Bottle is now on our "go to" list.
Excellent experience, it was not our first time at the bottle so we pretty much knew what to expect. We arrived just after 5:00 so there was no crowd. I think we were the only people there for 1/2 hour. Service was excellent and food exceptional. My wife had grouper and the portion was above average and she said it was very good. I had the filet and it was the best I’ve had. It was cooked just right and had excellent flavor.
The only criticism would be the valet parking. I saw the valet sign and pulled into what I thought was the place for valet right in front of restaurant but it wasn’t for valet. In fact it was a street parking space which turned out to be super, but knowing that space would rarely be available I’m still not sure where the actual stop was for valet parking. There was an attendant but no obvious place to stop.
We were seated immediately. Which was good. My niece was the last to arrive and when she tried to sit down, the table was in such a position that she had a difficult time getting into her seat.
The waiter was not at his best. He was in a rush the entire time and there was no personal interaction with him. He gave some in the party the wrong check and didn't come back so we could correct it.
There were 6 of us at the table. Five either had fish or scallops and one had filet. Everyone agreed their fish, scallops and filet were good. The brussel sprouts were terrible. They were burned and had too much salt.
I am new to Huntsville and want to experience new restaurants. I have heard nothing but good reviews of The Bottle and I have to say we were disappointed.
We always enjoy going to the Bottle. Scott usually takes care of us, but this time he was working a party upstairs. However, much to our surprise, he worked it out so he could take care of us. Thank you Scott! I had the grouper which was delicious and it had perfect side dishes (etouffe, grits, and fried brussels sprouts). Delish! My husband got the lamb and, as usual, it was prepared perfectly. We will be back soon!
The restaurant, food and chef were a huge disappointed. Our server was the best part of our visit, but couldn't make up for the tasteless food. There were four of us dining, we ordered two appetizers, one salad, four different entrees in addition to wine, beer and cocktails. The two appetizers, shrimp and tuna, were good but nothing more impressive than you could get at a nationwide chain. The salad was a tiny wedge of iceberg lettuce, the homemade dressing was good but there was barely enough lettuce for the dressing and other toppings. I had the scallop entree, the scallops themselves were great quality and they were not overcooked, the sear was very light but they were good. The scallops came with a mushroom risotto that was gummy and tasted like wallpaper paste. The men in our group ordered steaks, one filet and one ribeye, they had very little to complain about the meat but the pastry bag piped mashed potatoes had become hard on the outside and lacked salt, pepper, butter, cream or any flavor at all. It's says a lot if you can mess up mashed potatoes. The other person in our party order a fish dish, her main reason for ordering was that it was served with a crawfish étouffée, unfortunately she was unable to find a single piece of crawfish in the étouffée. The beer and wine were expensive but good, the cocktails for $14 could have been better and more inventive. We had originally planned to have dessert, we were celebrating a birthday, but decided at this point to cut our losses. Each couple spent $200 after tip, I have had many nice meals but I have never felt I had gotten so little for the money spent before. Also to claim the menu is French inspired, I find that quite a stretch. I have been to France and have dined at many fine French restaurants, and this restaurant left me confused. The chef did visit our table, I only wish we had been served our entrees before he arrived. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, very disappointed.
The venue, service and everything else was wonderful. The missing link was the quality of the strip steak. It was nice that there was very little gristle and the meat was flavored nicely but the meat itself was a little tough and chewy for the price paid. My wife's filet was fine. She had to send it back once but the response was fast and correct. There are two many other venues in the Huntsville Area that serve a better piece of meat for a lessor price.
Due to a party down stairs, we were seated upstairs. All the normal Friday night crowd was confined to the small upstairs room. Seating was cramped, as my wife continually elbowed me as she cut her steak. Noise level was loud.
I would recommend asking about seating options prior to making your reservations.
Had reservations for 6 pm, and we were seated upon arrival. Food was wonderful and portions were generous. Our party had grouper, lamb, pork chop, and chicken and all were delicious. Presentation was super and staff was very attentive. Thanks Chef Andy for making an eight year old feel special on her birthday!!
