The Boheme - Grand Bohemian Hotel - Orlando Ratings and Reviews
40th Birthday Brunch
Almost everything was perfect, food, atmosphere, service (Leo was great), but we made reservations and still had to wait. It wasn’t a long wait, maybe 5 minutes, but I’ve never had to wait at a venue for which I had a reservation for. For that, and that only, I would give it 4.75/5 stars.
Our reservation was before the Brunch start - a limitation of Open Table to indicate this - and it took a while to get coffee and menu orders started.
Food was excellent - fruit very fresh - and meals well prepared. Staff very friendly.
I recommend this Resteraunt - just watch booking time for brunch - check their website first for hours.
I have two friends from out of town stopping in Orlando so we could catch up. Since it was New Years Day there was not many options of places to meet. A friend of mine suggested we meet at the Boheme since she had been there before. It was a very nice setting and a peaceful dinner. Overall it was a great time catching up.
Best dessert NYE 2018 dinner
The ambience of the restaurant is great. I also liked the live jazz/ piano music. The prixe fixe NYE food was not gastronomy! However, the lamb I had was exceptional! So juicy, tender and uniquely lamb-tasting! The best dessert I have had in a long time qas their Baked Alaska. OMG!! So good to the point where we were struggling to finish and leave to catch the fireworks by midnight.
Now the low points.....
Even though we were a little late, our table was not ready. We were seated at a wood table while a posher, cosier marble table with a booth that I had asked for us was EMPTY the whole 2 hours we dined there.
The service was very mediocre. For $125 pp on NYE dinner, you would expect 4 or 5 star service. This was NOT. The server was not friendly or introduce himself, came to our table way after we were seated, up to 5 minutes. Did not explain what was going on with the menu, did not ask us if we were ready to order or explain the choices! Did not offer us bottled water for purchase. Instead brought us tap water right away.
Given that it was NYE DINNER, I would have expected some party favors. But none was offered. No hats, confetti, blowhorns or table decorations of any kind. We were quite disappointed.
We enjoyed the ambience however, with the live music and some parts of the food and that elevated the dining experience despite low to mediocre service.
We had two toddlers (about 1yo and 3 yo) seated for a 9:30om dinner right next to our table on New Year’s Eve. They were as good as they could be under the circumstances. We felt bad for them, but it lessened our experience slightly. The food, ambience, service, and cocktails are consistently wonderful here and Sunday Brunch is delightful!
In a few words...nobody does "Brunch" quite as well as the Grand Bo. Leo our waiter was excellent. This is the second New Years in a row he serves our party. Super attentive but really respectful of our privacy. Wonderful selection of foood and Mimosas are great. ...
The service is exceptional. The food was good but, in my opinion, not worth the premium prices. My wife had the steak au poivre, which was cooked to temp with an excellent sauce. I had the ribeye. It was also cooked to temp, but it seeemed like their spice rub, that was touted in the menu, was just burned. It resulted in the steak tasting charred and under seasoned. While not inedible, I certainly would not order it again. Cocktails and wine selections were great.
It took me to let the restaurant know we were ready to order drinks on arrival.
The waitress was good & handled 8 people well.
The food was good & plentiful for most. My fish soup was underwhelming.Desert was good, but not great.
Prices, I thought were high.....& $17.00 for a mixed drink, I thought, was high.
I objected paying $8.00 to park my car for dinner, plus another $5.00 tip to the car attendant.
I'm fussy. I would give the experience a 3 on a scale of 5
We went here for Christmas Day dinner (four adults). While service was friendly, it was very slow; we were at our table for close to 10m before anyone came over to acknowledge us and take a drink order. The food was just okay. At $80/pp for a prix fixe menu, I would have expected a little bit more. Champagne was borderline flat and warm and food temperature was tepid (nothing came out hot). I will say that the stand out was the squash soup - that was quite tasty - but everyone's meat dishes were cooked beyond their request. The hotel itself is beautiful, the lounge is gorgeous, but the restaurant leaves something to be desired. Disappointed.
Christmas Prix Fixe or table d'hôte menu consisted of five courses with complementary glass of Champagne. All were served promptly & hot items were temperature correct. Server Andrea was attentive & especially knowledgeable about wine selections. Great Christmas Dinner. Would definitely dine there again when in Orlando.
Our reservation was for 2:15 and we were seated at 2:50. Our waiter disappeared in the middle of the meal, probably because he was needed else where. However, we were without a server for a considerable time. We finally asked another server for more coffee and our check.
Every year Xmas day we go to the buffet they have , this year I was disappointed food is very poor , the sweet is garbage doesn't suit the Bohemian , the only good part is the seafood room .unorganized seating and wait was too long it seems employees are not trained to handle pressure .
Christmas Brunch Buffet was one of the best I’ve ever had. Service was fair, the ambience fair, and the noise level was fairly high - b/c held in the Ballroom. The food was outstanding - really superb - however: a wide variety in every area, interesting features, everything was fresh, never stale, regularly refreshed, and universally delicious.
Our reservation was at 12:15 PM however, we did not get to a table until about 1 PM. We were not even offered coffee or anything to snack on and their "waiting room" had too few seats. Our waiter was friendly but we had to ask him a few times for refills. Food was good but not spectacular. Overall, the $80 per person for brunch was not worth it. Will not be dining here again any time soon.
Best brunch on Orlando. I love sitting on the Bosendorfer and listening to the trip on Sunday and enjoying a cocktail and fantastic cuisine. The crepes are excellent and all the fresh seafood and beef carving stations are fantastic and of course the desserts....wow
