The BOB - Bobarino's

Went for dinner before a LaughFest event. The place was jam packed but we had a reso. Not sure why Bobarino's is not well prepared for business before shows at the VanAndel but they seemed to be running very slow. Food is just okay but decent enough.
Cool place, definitely suited to a younger crowd. Food was good, service was good, but it was quite noisy and made it hard to hold a conversation.
Food was great, waitress wasn’t engaging
Very overpriced for the quality of food.
Dinner before a rock concert at 20 Monroe... it was packed so quite loud but we already expected that! Our waiter James was outstanding!
We all ordered a burger and side and left feeling hungry. Not sure why. But we had been there a few years ago and I remembered it being really good. Service good but overall menu / food options it was just ok.
Service was terrible....waited 15 mins for drinks and it went downhill from there....even got water spilled on me
Great service and good food
We were there before an event at the Van Andel arena. The restaurant was full! Our server was really stretched, so he didn’t come to the table as often as he should have, but he tried! The food was mediocre. The Burgers were dry and sandwich, was not prepared as asked.
Service was great, food was above average. The noise level was elevated due to a concert being held next door but normally it's not very loud at all. Overall a great place to go for dinner
Great food service was slow
The service was ok, my husbands burger was good but my veggie Stromboli was just OK. We got sat right next to the doors going in and out of the kitchen which was incredibly annoying and loud. The server was fine, but a little at the end. We waited for a long time for her to come give us the check.
My veggie daughters had some choice from the menu, they shared mac and cheese and flatbread, both of which they enjoyed. My husband thought his burger was OK, a little bland.
Impressed with the waitress, friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about the good beer selection.
our waiter was very friendly and efficient,he new exactly what came with each of our orders. we enjoyed our time at the bob
Our service was bad this time. Which was too bad. We may go again to eat there and hope for way better service. It was too bad because we really like this restaurant.
Only problem we had was a 6:30 reservation and at 7:30 we asked to speak to a manger, because we still hadn’t got any food . Of course no manager Ever came to our table but our food came out shortly after complaining. we were at bobarinos. The waitress was very nice , but we were very unhappy with our wait for food
We waited an hour for pizza and fish. Total bill with a mixed drink and two beers $90.00.
Hostess said she text us to let us know table was ready but never received it (but did receive texts from my mom during this time). Restaurant was quite loud and we waited 45 minutes for our food.
Our server introduced himself as new/training. We never saw a trainer. We ordered an appetizer and it took awhile. Not happy when our food came at same time. We asked twice for round of drinks, did not receive. Not ONE dish was removed from our table. We had to clear our table and place dirty dishes on adjacent dirty table. Obviously the server was new...but your training program needs improvement. A trainer/manager was no where in our site, no one was observing our dirty table, empty drinks. The server was very hard to signal as he was rushing around. Not the best customer service we have experienced. REVIEW YOUR TRAINING PROGRAM PLEASE!
Mostly Bar Food. The food was just ok. The server was great. Informative and attentive. The high top table was tippy.
We stopped in on a Sunday evening before a concert... our reservation was for 5:45 and we were seated upon arrival. We sat at our table about 10 minutes before the waitress took our drink order. She was very pleasant and apologetic for the wait. After ordering dinner we waited one hour for our food. My husband ordered a Stromboli and I ordered a Bacon & chicken Sammy with fries. Not something that should take so long because the concert started at 7. My sandwich and fries were cold but still tasted ok.. his Stromboli was hot because they had actually forgotten to make it... mind you... there is just two of us ?? The manager did give us his for free and the waitress was nice... this is the only reason for the 3 stars. When we received our food we were one of 7 tables with customers... I highly doubt we will be back
The food took a long time to come which we were warned of in advance when the server took our order because of a shortage of cooks. It was the night of a show at VanAndel and it was packed which would make me think they should have scheduled more cooks. The server was not very attentive but was pleasant when he did stop by the table.
Not the greatest experience. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and it was not that busy. The food was good, other than my wife’s burnt French fries. We were a little surprised by this. We have been here before numerous times and it never took that long.
Considering we were there on a Saturday night just before the Eric Church concert, everything was good. We did wait almost 30 minutes after being seated for a waitress. We stopped another waitress and she ended up waiting on our table and she was amazing!! All in all, everything was as expected considering the craziness of the night.
The food was no where as good as I remembered. It’s been a long time since I’ve dined there and I was expecting it to be the same. It’s definitely not. The pizza tasted slightly better than frozen. It was not wood fired, as expected.
They have Pepsi products... and our server did not know his way around the liquor list. Instead of ordering my favorite bourbon, which I later learned was available, I drank water. Life goes on.
Other pizzas we ordered were fantastic. The Margarita pizza was not, it was soggy and not near enough cheese.
Good bar food
The waitress informed us the kitchen was out of gluten free crust 20 min after my nephew ordered his food. His burger showed up without his fries.
We had a 5:45pm reservation. When we arrived it was super busy and I was afraid they wouldn’t seat us right away. But they did. That was impressive that our table was ready right on time. Party of 6. An hour and a half later we still didn’t have our food! We had concert tickets across the street at Van Angel Arena. Finally they brought 1 persons order out. We thought the rest would be coming, but it never did.
We got up to leave and we’re told to stay because the manager was coming to talk to us. She didn’t. 15 minutes later we got up to leave again. We were stopped by the manager st the door. She asked us to pay for what we received. 1/6 of our order. After 2 hours of waiting, they offered us nothing! Spewed some story about it being the busiest night of the year. Van Andel Arena has events all the time. This was nothing new to them. I have never been so disappointed. We had to eat crappy food at the concert and missed the opening act.
Great pizza out on the patio
We had a reservation for 6 people at 8pm on a Saturday night. We had tickets to the 10:30 pm show at Dr. Grins and needed to be upstairs at 10. We got our first round of drinks fairly quickly, though not all drinks were remembered, and put in an appetizer order. Got those in a reasonable amount of time. Portion size was small for the price. We ordered dinner and were told that we couldn't substitute sides (mashed potatoes for fries) because it would make our food take too long. An hour later we still didn't have our meals- sandwiches, macaroni and cheese and meat loaf. We called the restaurant to speak to a manager and one never came. When we got our food (an hour and 15 mins later) it was cold and our orders were incomplete. We had to eat very quickly to make it upstairs for our 10 pm tickets. After calling two more times a manager visited our table and offered free dessert that we all declined because we needed to get to our show. She also took a percentage off of our bill because she agreed that our portion sizes were very small. We never were offered refills, nor did our waiter check on us after dropping off our food. Part way through being there the music was so loud we couldn't talk to each other without yelling. This isn't the first time we have had a problem eating at Bobarino's before a show. We will not be eating there again. It should be noted that while it was busy there was not a waiting list and there were empty tables.
We got there when it opened up and the server was really slow and unorganized. It took forever for us to get our drinks.
Food was alright, nothing too special, the service was top notch! We arrived early for our reservation and was seated right away. Our waitress was on the ball and super nice. Would definitely go there again.
Had the Chicken Marsala. Green beans were under cooked. The chicken was tough and average taste. The service was good and the BOB is a cool place but the noise levels can get a little extreme if you are trying to talk with someone.
It was 5:30 on a Friday with a big concert next door...so we knew it would be busy. We waited in a long long line even with reservations YOU still wait? A long wait for our drinks...45 minutes later our dinner arrived and then our appitizers arrived ten minutes later. The pizza is great...probably the basil pizza was the most disappointing. The other pizza we ordered was great! The Thai egg rolls were not spicy. And the pretzel with the dip...the pretzel was ROCK hard. We will dine at the Bob again, but maybe when it's less busy.
My party of 3 went to Bobarino's for a birthday celebration. The server for our table didn't seem to be in a good mood, and sort of rushed us to get in our orders. The beer cheese and pretzel appetizer is way too expensive for a plate of cold cheese and store bought frozen pretzels. Other than those two negatives, the rest of the food was great and the birthday guest had a nice time.
I arrived at 6:20 for 6:30 reservations. We were seated right away, but no one came to our table until 6:35. After that we ordered drinks and dinner (by 6:45). We each ordered one drink and one salad. Our salads didn’t arrive to our table until almost 7:30, which was the start time of our concert. We had to eat very quickly and rush out the door. We were seated at a very similar time to those around us, but they all had larger parties and managed to get out the door before us. Not sure why it took 40 minutes to prepare a Cobb salad and a grilled chicken salad on a Tuesday night. The food and the restaurant were nice and I’d try it again, but just hope service doesn’t take so long next time.
Made reservations for dinner before a show - while they were able to seat us before our reserved time, that was about the highlight. My husband ordered one of their dark beers and said it was completely flavorless. I ordered the Mac & Cheese.... disappointing to say the least. No flavor whatsoever. It was blah pasta with a pale yellow sauce - noodles weren’t even tossed in it. Service was ‘Meh’. If you want a quality craft beer experience - skip this and choose any of the other 1000000000000 Grand Rapids beer bars around, this isn’t worth the effort.
It was a great place, service was great, great food, but it was a bit loud for the two of us to have a nice conversation. We had a reservation through Open Table, but when we checked in they didn't note that even though I told them we had a reservation and they looked it up, so we got an email saying we didn't show up for our reservation. Maybe make sure the staff knows what to do when a reservation is made through Open Table to note that upon arrival.
