The Boathouse at Saugatuck Rowing Club
"Hiding in the Saugatuck Rowing Club, this Westport New American Farm to Table is the showcase for chef Paul Scoran's locavore cuisine."
Beautiful restaurant with pleasing view of the Saugatuck River. Brisk, clean atmosphere. Very good food.
Lovely room and view. The service was great. Food not so much. 2 guests had hamburgers- tasted like they were frozen. Fries bland. Caesar salad was over dressed. Lobster bisque so so. Desserts were lovely‼️
Food was underwhelming. Overpriced
Very pretty setting. Great food and service. Staff was attentive and considerate. The menu is small but covers a good variety of tastes. Very nice atmosphere.
First time we had dinner here with friends . Pretty decor and good service and the food was very good.
To be fair, we were the only guests in the place so can’t vouch for the noise level.
Worth promoting this hidden gem with a nice view of the Saugatuck River. Will definitely go back
Food was fine, not great. We had a vegan quinoa dish which was nicely prepared, but a small portion. Also had branzino; same comment as vegan dish. Waiter seemed inexperienced and wasn’t particularly attentive, especially since the restaurant was not packed. Overall: adequate.
Extremely small portion sizes for the price. My wife and I both left hungry and unstatisfied.
This is a quaint, upscale restaurant with a nice view of the Saugatuck river. The food was excellent, as well as the service. Obviously you will be paying Westport prices (way too much), so the only real downside is if you are not able to eat by a window or outside. For some reason they insist on keeping a TV on over the bar, even though no one cares to watch TV during dinner (this is not a sports bar!), and the seating inside is awkward. Otherwise, this was a very nice place to enjoy a special dinner.
Beautiful location and amazing food and service! We loved it!
Loved the renovation with the big windows overlooking the river ! Our dinners were expertly prepared and delicious. No one had any complaints. The noise level was low enough so we were able to enjoy conversations around the table. Very important if you want to converse with friends over dinner. No one rushed us. The service was attentive although a little slow but not annoyingly so. All in all everyone was very pleased.
We loved it!!
Very cozy, lovely waterfront setting. Excellent service, delicious food.
Wonderful attentive staff with delicious dinner menu guest had different fish offering most enjoyable
For old people. Nobody else was there, small with nobody else under 65.
Wonderful setting with great food.
Been there a couple of times now and it’s really improved since we last visited a year or more ago. Great location especially with a little daylight left to view the river. Food was great both times. Give it a shot.
Food, Service, ambience and view are all reasons to go to the Boathouse.
Went for dinner the night before thanksgiving and it was amazing. Our server, Kevin, was attentive, kind, and wonderful. Loved the whole experience!!
I was happy to get a last-minute reservation on a Saturday night when we were going to an 8:00 show at the Westport Country Playhouse and was surprised that it wasn't that busy when we arrived at 6:30. More people came before we left, but perhaps because this restaurant and the building it is in appeared to be very new, it has not caught on yet. Or maybe because it is now cold and you can't eat outside, which I'm sure is fantastic because it is located right on the Saugatuck River. Anyway, the seafood was outstanding (crab cakes were a little bland), the service was excellent and the view was lovely overlooking the river, even now when it gets dark at 5:00. And the prices were reasonable.
First experience here. Once private, now open to public for dining. Went for a birthday dinner. Beautiful interior with great view of river. Menu looked good. Service was friendly and prompt. Biggest disappointment was the food quality. All 5 had starter soup, which was excellent. However, the entrees were disappointing. Even the ‘special’. For the price was v disappointing.
Food and atmosphere were excellent. Surpassed expectations.
The fish was very good. My hamburger was unimpressive.
Excellent food but a little skimpy on the grilled octopus and shrimp
Beautiful view and a great lunch!
We went there for lunch and had a good sized table right at the window looking out at the Saugatuck River and all of the birds that were swimming and feeding there. There were only a few people inside so it was very quiet. We got the three course meal from the special restaurant week menu. The soup and the salad were excellent as was the salmon and the pasta main courses. We shared the two desserts, both the chocolate tart and the strudel and they were each top notch. The waiter was good although a bit over busy because of the number of people sitting outdoors on a lovely day. We look forward to going back again soon.
We enjoy the Boat House for afternoon dining. Food for lunch is very good. The opposite is for dinner. Limited menu, very poor quality steak and service mediocre. It is still a great place for an afternoon.
Food was great, but thought the decor could be much better given the waterfront setting.
Thought we might be able to sit outside.
This is a lovely spot with a great view of the Saugatuck River. The food is solid, the wine list works and the cocktails are good. We like this spot.
Porch has great vista but captures too much noise.
Great service and food!
Lunch menu is not particularly appealing and the salad was wilted. The view when sitting outside was the best thing about the restaurant. Overall a disappointing experience.
Lobster rolls delicious and great value. View of Saugatuck river with paddleboarders was spectacular
Service was awful, don’t have teenagers as your main wait staff on a Sat night!
loved outdoor setting, lovely view.
very nice service...all very civilized!
Service was very good. The food was outstanding. We shared oysters, salad, special of the day was scallops. Desert was good too. CremeBrule and chocolate sundae.
Very attractive, good service, but food was at best fair. Many places in Westport have better food, which is why I would choose them.
excellent food served in a lovely setting overlooking the river.
Charming little venue. Enjoyable waterfront viewing.
For me, the ambiance was a highlight! You can sit on the deck right by the water.....we did! The food was very good and we had a great waiter!
Too bad they only serve dinner on Saturday night! Think it would be a really good place for
their daily lunch! Will go back!
Had never heard of this place, but found on Open Table website! THANK YOU!
We really enjoyed our dinner at the Boathouse. The meal was superb and our waiter Paul was terrific.
Looking forward to a special occasion to return.
