The Boathouse at Saugatuck is an exciting American seafood restaurant with panoramic views of the Saugatuck River. House in the Saugatuck Rowing Club, this Westport restaurant is situated on the second floor (elevator accessible) with indoor as well as limited outdoor dining on our covered deck and first floor water front terrace when weather permits.

If you are not able to book on OpenTable, please call us at 203-227-3399 and depending upon availability, we may be able to accommodate you. We are limiting bookings to 90 minutes. If you are more than 15 minutes late your reservation is at risk. Please take travel time into account in order to be on time.

We will make every attempt to honor reservation requests for our upstairs deck. However, due to limited seating outdoors, high demand and the ever changing weather, we cannot guarantee seating on the deck.

Kitchen must have been backed up…long wait for food. Appetizer came out cold so sent it back. Dinner came and was not hot so had to send it back as well. When it came back it was only luke warm. The food quality was not good. Our waiter tried to remedy the issues was not really able to. Needless to say we will not be going back.

The view was very nice. Food was average, could lean more towards a French brunch rather than American. Dinner menu was same as brunch, possible upload issue but did want to see what was available for dinner for a second visit. Drinks are refreshing, hot chocolate must have. Gym door was open and can deter clients.

We had a lovely dinner with friends overlooking the sunset on the Saugatuck. Our entrees-grilled fluke, warm lobster roll, and linguine with clams-were all excellent. Friendly attentive service as well. We’ll be back again soon.

We had the Restaurant Week lunch and the 3 course lunch was wonderful. Soup, main course and dessert were delicious and we shared so got to taste several items. Beautiful spot!

Lovely setting, perfect ambience for a summer’s evening overlooking the Saugatuck River. The crab cakes and lobster bisque were delicious however we felt the limited menu of main courses was heavy and too “Italian” based which is over done in our area. Robert, the new Maitre d’ was delightful and brought a warm and affable element to the beautifully redone dining terrace and dining room. A solid very good but the menu needs tweaking.

The restaurant has great views for people having outside sitting, however menu selection is limited, and noise level is pretty high when all outside sitting tables are occupied. We had an early reservation (5:30 PM) and just few other tables were occupied, however around 6 PM -6:15 PM two large parties arrived and the environment became very noisy. The menu selection is quite limited, plain and not very sophisticated. The parking is also limited. The restaurant is located at the Saugatuck Rowing Club and it is usually very busy during the workweek afternoons with middle and high school kids attending rowing and workout practices until 6PM - 6:30 PM. I would recommend visiting this restaurant just as an experience, but I am not planning to go there any time soon. I would recommend to visit Rive Bistro instead.

Lovely setting, attentive service, very pleasant ownership who are eager to please. The restaurant is on a wonderful riverside location with ample parking. The food is a bit underwhelming, not very flavorful but if you’re looking for a great location and atmosphere to meet friends for drinks, it’s a can’t miss in Westport

Our waiter became bizarre after dropping a butter vessel while clearing entrees. Our dessert found its way to us through another server after a very long wait and then he just walked around the dining room aimlessly thereafter. Eventually, without complaint, I asked for our check. He dropped it with a glowering look. He had been extremely friendly at the outset. It was strange and put a damper on the evening.
