Can't beat the view/location!
Definitely CAN beat the Baja Fish Tacos; heavy, too much heavy sauce.
Service was likely stretched waaaay thin... nice person, but minimal attention paid to us
The mains here have always been very good though.

It was great! My friends from Toronto enjoyed the view so much and were so happy with the overall experience.
We always go the the one on Port Moody, but we wanted to check out the beach in Vancouver. We were not disappointed.

Reso booked 2 weeks ahead for anniversary dinner and got placed outside at a table with no umbrella, no music and no atmosphere. Won’t be back.

We were very disappointed, it has been years since we have eaten here so we were looking forward it. The tuna was off , not fresh & we had to send it back. And the rest of our meals were just “average “ the best thing was the crab dip. The restaurant environment was old and nothing special and reminded of a buffet restaurant. We have no problem paying higher for a fresh quality dinner but this was not that at all.

We came to the mainland for my Grampa s 93rs birthday and wanted a special experience for his bday dinner.

We were seated at an okay location inside the lounge. After 20 minutes or so I finally asked a staff member passing by if we could have a server come to the table to order drinks. Another 20 minutes later or so with no drinks yet I went upto the host station requesting service.

Drinks are pricing. Grampa ordered the lobster tail ,55 bucks with rice .. over cooked and tasteless. Is girls ordered 7 oz sirloin both different sizes and thickness.

191.99 bucks for 3 of us.

We will never go back.

The location is amazing. Awesome views. Food super tasty but portions a little on the small side. Our service wasn't great. Arrived for our reservation and we're told to sit in the waiting seats as they needed to sanitize our table. We sat there for 15 minutes. In the meantime they were paging walk-ins that their tables were ready and seating them before us. My husband had to go back up to the hostess booth and ask if our table was ready yet. Got out again who we were. Finally got sat. Server was OK but not super attentive. We would have had a few more drinks had we been asked more often. Feel service wasn't up to par for the pricyness of the restaurant.

I had a reservation but was seated at the one of the most inconvenient tables e.g. the one closest to the entrance/hostess and where people were coming in and out.

Feels old and run down …
Even for a boat house !

Can’t just sell the view in 2021 !

No plants … no atmosphere …
Not seen a coat of paint since 1990’s

Poor selection of wine
Get some advice (and not from a wine sales person)

Healthy food options would be great

Too many fried foods … NOT Healthy !

Nice lunch meeting on the covered patio. Was able to accommodate a fussy baby. They only lost one star for the fish and chips which could’ve had more fish and less batter.

Table by window overlooking Kits Beach was wonderful on a warm sunny day in July. Nice breeze and ventilation during Covid times. The location is the best thing about this place. Menu is solid though a tad dated from 1990/2000s. I had the coconut prawns (crunchy and tasty) and grilled tuna with sesame crust served with brown rice, shiitake and bok choy- very nicely seared, raw in centre. Service is friendly. I was there before 12 noon and found the door locked. Other guests also tried the door. They should put a friendly sign to indicate doors open right at noon. At noon a long line formed up the stairs and it took a number of minutes for the staff to seat people - noticeable duration but tolerable. There’s an outdoor patio but no umbrellas to provide shade - a lost opportunity surely in this day and age when every establishment small or large put out tables and umbrellas out on street or sidewalk.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the boathouse in kitsilano. We were seated on the patio. The view alone was worth going to this restaurant. However tge eervice was great and the food was tasty and good value for what you got. We would definitely go again. The only complaint would be the lack of parking but that is a problem everwhere in Vancouver.

On a nice evening, location can’t be beat! The view is spectacular!
Food good…..
Interesting cross between casual and fine dining.
Food a bit pricey but served with rolled up paper napkin and cutlery ….
They should decide what the ambiance is intended to be…..

Service was great. We had a table with a great view of the beach. We ordered oysters which came with a cocktail sauce and a sweet asian flavoured one. We also had mains (the salad was a little bit overdressed) and ordered the mocha cake to go so we could eat that at the beach. Overall really good experience and I would go back.

The ambience is great and the food came quickly and was overall good quality. The service wasn't quite up to the expectation that we had for this level of restaurant. We waited 15 minutes after sitting down to even get a server to introduce himself. In the meantime, we had to flag someone down to give us a Happy Hour menu. But once our server came, the rest of the service was great and the server gave us a coupon for a free appetizer for our next visit in apology for the wait time. The washrooms also needed more care as there was toilet paper on the floor in every stall and there was water all over the sink counter.

Drinks took far too long to arrive, the bread tasted freezer burned, the food was just ok, the service was subpar. I expected much more given its location and the cost of the meal. I likely will not revisit.

We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here and had a great time. Food was delicious, the view was fantastic, the space wasn't crowded, reservations are easy and they had sanitary precautions. We were very pleased. They also accommodated for the 1 year old we brought, gave her crayons and paper to draw on. It was a great day, thank you!

It was ok.
I have been to this Boathouse location many times before. The food quality and service was not to the high level that I have become accustomed to at this location. Maybe has to do with coming out of the pandemic.

This location is one of the best in Vancouver, however the menu needs to be completely updated. It is the dinner menu the same old tired one from 10 years ago,
with very little lunch options and virtually no updated healthy choices. It’s time to become more upscale for such a nice location.

Overall a really nice experience. The only negative was at the end of our time there a restaurant employee (not our server) came to our table to tell us we had 3 minutes to leave the table as our booking was for 1.5 hours. The restaurant was 3/4 empty and covid restrictions had been further eased so seemed a very strange thing to say to us and we left on a sour note. Not only that, I looked at my watch and we'd been there closer to 2.5 hours, and eaten and drank the whole time, so why they were suddenly in such a rush for us to get out was a mystery. If they had legitimate reasons for us to be out, then they should have been more transparent with them.
