Went for a birthday lunch. Niçoise salad the skimpiest I have ever seen with an exceptionally high price. Birthday never acknowledged.
This is the first negative response I have ever given a restaurant and as my history shows, I eat out often in many different cities.
We visited Blue Pig Tavern on our vacation to Cape May with our two little girls (6 & 3). We enjoyed the patio on a nice evening. It was a great “grown-up” dinner where our little ladies were more than welcome. Highly recommend!
Fries have changed so my kids were not happy. Just here for Mother’s Day so must have been recent. Fish and chips portion now half the size it was and not as great. Kinda bummed overall. Used to be my favorite place but I feel like every time we go we like it less and less.
Food was good as always. Waiter forgot our calamari. She was extremely apologetic about it and even comped us drinks. Which wasn’t necessary but much appreciated!
Dined outside which is always nice and the little touches are great, like gas fired outdoor lamps. Food was very tasty and well priced and our server, Lili, was wonderful.
Birthday celebration noted on reservation but no acknowledgement so we went elsewhere for dessert
Sat on the inside porch. Kim was my waitress. She made me feel like a friend. Took excellent care of me. Meal was delicious.
The food was amazing, and so was the service. We come here about once a year, and it never disappoints.
Fun atmosphere, great food!
I have been to the Blue Pig many times and have always loved it. This time however, we had bad service. Despite the fact that we had a reservation, we got seated at a wobbly center table, and when we complained about the wobbles, a bus boy spent way too much time under the table trying to fix the wobble when there was a perfectly good table for two next to us, which was up against a wall and therefore more private. My friend ordered mussels in broth which did not come with a spoon. She ordered espresso and it did not come with a spoon. Or lemon. but worst of all, half way through our appetizer course, someone (not our waitress) came and brought us our main course. Totally inexcusable. There was not room for the plates on the tiny table, but he shoved them on there anyway. Untrained staff. Not good this time. Hoping for better next time.
Keep in mind, I arrived during restaurant week and took advantage of the restaurant week menu. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend, so we decided to celebrate a birthday there. We were a group of 6. For $35, the restaurant menu was just fine. Nothing to write home about, but with three courses, it was worth it. I will have to try this place as more of a lunch spot, instead of dinner. The food wasn't overly fantastic, but again, fine for a restaurant week menu.
Great food, great service, great environment
Food was well prepared, service was warm and attentive
Loved it highly
Great place to eat and kid friendly!
Loved the farm to table concept. We visited during restaurant week and got a 3 course meal for an extremely great value! We started with a superb lobster bisque. I had the pot roast and my husband the swordfish. Both were excellent. We finished with a Meyer lemon torte. Amazing! Definitely would go back. I’d love to try their breakfast.
Went to dinner with my spouse. She ordered the chicken and I had the meatloaf. My food was tepid when it arrived but the server took back the food and brought a new plate. Service was excellent but food is overpriced($26 for half chicken).
We both agreed we will not be returning.
Celebrated my boyfriend’s 30th birthday and the restaurant did a great job making him feel special.
Outstanding great service , amazing place to relax
Great Farm-to-table place in Cape May. Wonder steak & cake entrée! Friendly & attentive service. We enjoyed dining on the outdoor patio.
My husband and I go to the Blue Pig around once a month. The food is good and the ambiance is nice, especially outside. Unfortunately this time we had a server named Shawn who was not good at all and the experience suffered greatly. Also it would be nice to see them change up the menu a little!
I am sure this experience was just an exception and not the rule and that it improves to the standards we are used to the next time we dine there!
During our trip to Cape May to celebrate our anniversary week, my wife and I decided to drop in on the Blue Pig Tavern for brunch. We made a reservation but since it was midweek after the holiday weekend it was pretty empty by the time of our 10:30 reservation. We had a lovely time with a lovely meal once we found the place. Since we haven't been to cape may before we didn't really know the area and relied on the map ap to find the place. We drove from our hotel and ended up circling the blocks several times looking for the place. there was no restaurant at the corner indicated on the map. finally called and was told that it is inside the congress hotel! who knew?
Maybe that one is on me but i did not see anything that said it was inside the hotel on open table. so it goes....
we had a very nice cup of coffee followed by the stuffed brioche french toast and breakfast sandwich on a croissant which we shared. Everything was delicious, served hot and quickly and with a smile. It's all good! we will no doubt be back and would definitely recommend.
Crab cakes are excellent! Other entrees, especially vegetarian option was kind of bland.
Really enjoyed breakfast there, will definitely go again.
On a holiday weekend, FABULOUS!!! Food and wait staff FANTASTIC!!! BEST Mac and Cheese!!!
Kit and Alyssa always make it extra special for us. We like to take a moment and thank them for always being so kind and on point. My latte and our breakfast was delicious as always, thank-you
Delicious and wonderful wait staff!!! BEST Mac and Cheese!!!
I have been to The Blue Pig many times and it never disappoints. The wait staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, Congress Hall is impressive and the emphasis on local, farm to table food leaves you feeling good about your choice. We were there with our teenage kids, it's casual enough for them but the food is inventive enough to satisfy all of us.
the nerve to charge $17.00 for iceberg lettuce and a thimble of crabmeat...too bad bc the place is nice and the outdoor patio is very nice to eat in. (the manager and the hostess both said.."its not me..its the chef who sets the prices")
Very nice atmosphere, great service. A lot of great history at this location that adds to the experience.
Really cute place with great food and service! Dog friendly :)
It was good, nothing special, but decent
We always love dining here! The ambiance is the best. Food was great. Memories made!
after having a great meal last Saturday we took our friends over this week, had a great meal our waitress Kim was very attentive.
I was disappointed that 2 of the items that I wanted to order were no longer available. It was only 2:00 so I expected their menu items would still be available. Otherwise the food was good, service great, atmosphere quiet and comfortable. I would definitely return again.
Food was great
Always enjoy my meals on Congress Halls enclosed porch. Burgers were a bit on the pricey side but delicious and cooked exactly as requested... medium rare, medium and well. Nice selection on menu and breakfast served until 3! I would recommend for your next day trip to Cape May...located right in the heart of town across from the shops on Washington Street Mall.
Lovely I love the pig!
Fantastic dinner in the amazing historic Congress Hall
