The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Michael Greenstein has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant!

In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

I was disappointed that 2 of the items that I wanted to order were no longer available. It was only 2:00 so I expected their menu items would still be available. Otherwise the food was good, service great, atmosphere quiet and comfortable. I would definitely return again.

Always enjoy my meals on Congress Halls enclosed porch. Burgers were a bit on the pricey side but delicious and cooked exactly as requested... medium rare, medium and well. Nice selection on menu and breakfast served until 3! I would recommend for your next day trip to Cape May...located right in the heart of town across from the shops on Washington Street Mall.

My wife’s chicken entree was so bad that she sent it back! My cheeseburger was over cooked. They did not charge us for the chicken but we did not order an alternate meal.

Our server, Flossie, was top notch. If I could clone her and have her be our server at every restaurant , I would! She was very attentive, sweet and sincere. Awesome.

The food did not leave me wanting to come back. Bread brought to the table was cold and hard. Mac and cheese as an appetizer was excellent. Seafood with anglehair as a main was ok. The sauce seemed to lack flavor. Hand breaded beer batter haddock wins good but the fries that accompanied the dish were over cooked and just barely warm.

We were also here for dinner two weeks ago. The scallop dish came out cold. Sent it back to the kitchen. It appeared as if they microwaved it and it was STILL cold in the center. Sent it back AGAIN and a new dish came out 15 minutes later. Scallops were hot. Quinoa was still just warm. I had the “steak and cake”- Blue Pigs take on surf and turf.: steak and crab cake. The steak was not a tender cut and was a bit chewy. The crab cake came out fried in the shape of a round ball. It was mostly filler.

We will always come back to Congress for the Brown Room , friendly service and ambiance. I just wish the food was better at the Blue Pig to make this a perfect experience.

We had birthday lunch for Mom's 86th. The porch was warm and bright, food great as always, service friendly and efficient, and we all left full and happy and looking forward to coming back!

please don't take the eggs blackstone off the menu (we heard it was going to be). it is the best brunch dish on the menu. Grits were a little bland this time (have had in the past and they were better)

It is always a great experience at the Blue Pig Tavern. A favorite if ours. Vthis trip we had 6vif us for brunch on the Sunday during Exit 0 Jazz Fest so we were thrilled we could reserve a table and they were really able to keep up with the high volume if people in town that weekend. The special brunch menu was outstanding as we're the bloody mary's.

I had the cod and potato cake special. It was so bland even tarter sauce didn't help! The pasta needed more flavor and more sauce. Scallops were better. Good service though.

the Turkey burger was excellent!! My house drink bourbon (Makers Mark) cherry sour was A+. My only complaint is that the drink was so good and easy to drink that I had two, which for someone who had not had a drink in a few months caused a headache - small price to pay for a wonderful dinner!

Hands down this is our favorite place in Cape May. The food is always great, no matter what time of the day we go. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff from the hostess, "Kit" who always is so plesant upon your arrival until your departure, to the servers, Alyssa and Julie who are always on point with there customers. Today we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Joey who we know is responsible for cooking up all those great dishes. I'm sure if he is leading your cooks, there is no room for disappointments, as we are always pleased. Shout out to your employees they are truly amazing and an asset to your establishment. Just so you know, It is an hour drive from where we live to your establishment, we can honestly tell you it's well worth it. Thank-you and keep up the good work.

We had a wonderful dinner at The Blue Pig tavern.
We read in a local magazine that the bartender was an expert at crafting some notable cocktails. We found out that that was correct.
The Bees Knees is an historic gin-based drink, and the Honey Bee is a tequila special that was excellent. Right here you should know that the service was gracious, knowledgeable and comfortable all night.
We sampled appetizers, salads and some seafood entrees, and everything was very good. We hardly had room for dessert, but shared their famous apple pie dessert, and it was really worth it.
You can't go wrong here.
