About The Blue Pig Tavern
The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant!
In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

The Blue Pig Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Blue pig has a lot of charm. They have excellent food , live music, and several different rooms to eat in or listen to music. It has an outdoor area where you can let the kids run around or have a cocktail and enjoy the grounds. Great place for a special occasion or a romantic date. It is within walking distance to many other restaurants and bars, along with some good shopping.
The restaurant is in Congress Hall. Despite the fact that the hotel was busy and the restaurant was crowded, we were seated at our reserved time. Service was excellent from the hostess to the server. We were also greeted by the manager.
Decent wine list. The meal was excellent. I would recommend the fish and chips. Sounds like a simple dish but the quality of the cod and ingredients made the dish.
Very attractive rooms. We are planning a return in warmer weather to sit on the patio.
At first we arrived late for our 2:45 appointment .
This was due to a complete lack of parking in cape May , after a few minutes but of negotiating we were seating - thank you so much . All of the restaurants in Cape May were closed between 3 and 5 .
All of the festivities in cape May began at 5 so we really wanted to eat before attending .
Thank you for a wonderful birthday lunch .
This is our second or third time dining at the Blue Pig Tavern. You can always be guaranteed a tasty and plentiful meal. The restaurant also prides itself by supporting the local vegetable and livestock farmers. My only complaint is that after being seated, we waited much too long for our waitress to even acknowledge us.
We were at the Blue Pig for our Thanksgiving meal. We had a reservation and seating was timely. Had a handcrafted cocktail before dinner, a Congressional Cosmo, and it was excellent. Wait staff were very accommodating and the traditional Thanksgiving meal had plenty of white and dark meat turkey with good stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and fresh string beans. I was a bit disappointed that they did not have pecan pie for dessert, but the maple cheesecake was a very good replacement. We have eaten at the Blue Pig for Thanksgiving for several years now and we find it excellent and have never been disappointed.
Breakfast this morning and spec was California Benedict! Excellent!
Julie our server was fun, energetic and efficient! Excellent service !!
Hostess sat us immediately! Wonderful!
Fruit bowl was delish! Nice and sweet! Grits were very nice and served excelled!
Only con would be those old rickety ice cream pallor chairs on the porch ! And set with the deuces in the dining room! Time for a change! Not comfortable and even scary!
I have dined at BP several times and this time was disappointed in the special entrees . From a price point they were very overpriced. My scallops were very good but if all you are serving is 3 scallops the cost should never be over 35.00. 4-5 scallops is reasonable or lower the price. My partner had the ribbeye and was not cooked hot enough and not much flavor. Maybe lunch is a better option
I came to the Blue Pig for the first time over the summer and loved it. Came back with my husband while on our mini honeymoon, and it was just as good! I never get the same meal twice, but their roasted half-chicken is so amazing, I had to get it a second time! Salad, both meals and dessert were all awesome and our waitress was super sweet! They also have a great selection of beer, wine & cocktails! My only complaint is that it was packed, and we were put in a corner in VERY tight quarters. It was a little uncomfortable, but otherwise, a very enjoyable experience!
This was a pre wedding breakfast with friends. The farm to table menu is excellent. We had the breakfast sandwiches, healthy start and eggs and bacon. The cappuccino was excellent. It was available also in decaf. The service was good but we waited a bit for the check. They need to have a little more staff on board for a Saturday morning
We will definitely be back
Have been going here since they opened. Food is always delicious, but service is mixed. We had to ask several times for water refills, and waited over an hour for brunch. We arrived at 11:30 and were not served until 1pm. It wasn't even that busy...
When the food arrived, a side of pumpkin pancakes we ordered we ice cold. We asked for fresh ones... 15 minutes later they were delivered but we were done with most of the rest of our food. A bit disappointing given the cost, and how beautiful the ambiance is here. They need better management!
