Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

    Food and service excellent. My daughter had the burger which was perfectly cooked. We had the halibut and burrata salad- excellent. Awesome espresso martini.

    We went to the Blue Pig for dinner mid-week. The ambience of the historic room where we were seated is charming, but it was so dark that several diners, including us, needed to use their phone flashlights to read the menu. The tables are very crowded, and the noise on our night was deafening. My husband and I couldn't comfortably carry on a conversation. Our food was not remarkable. My flounder was dry, as were the fingerling potatoes; only the small amount of crab-tomato sauce was delicious. Our waiter was solicitous, but he had a lot of tables to attend to, so he couldn't check on us very often. Overall, a disappointing experience.

    Food and service were good. We usually have lunch there outside and off peak but had dinner instead. Was peak dinner time and was very very noisy inside.

    The service was excellent. The roll of my lobster roll was burnt. Quality control would have prevented me from receiving a burnt lunch. I did not send it back because I did not want to deal with the fuss. My partner would have been eating their meal alone and so would I. We will not return.

    Very nice. Food was excellent. Would have like to sit outside, but didn't want to wait. Very lovely dining room, could have had more lighting. Would definitely go back again.
