Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

    Restaurant week was great!! The menu at the Blue Pig was so delicious, and had a very nice variety. The highlight of the evening was the manager of the hotel came to our table and encouraged us to visit the Brown Room after dinner, and it was so enjoyable to listen to the performer and have a final final. Chris stopped to see if we were enjoying- what a great guy!

    I would highly recommend it. Appetizers: oysters on 1/2 shell, farm meats & cheese and crab dip. Dinner: filet mignon and braised short rib. Dessert: apple pie. Every thing was very good, we will definitely be returning.

    Blue Pig Tavern is the perfect spot for breakfast/lunch. Being at the historic Congress Hall and sharing a wonderful meal was the perfect way to end our time in Cape May. The food, service, and location are all wonderful. I would highly recommend!

    this was an amazing experience. everything was perfect. the whole restaurant was a vibe, food was delicious and the service was beyond excellent. thank you all so much who made our bride feel so special! HIGHLY recommend the private dining for parties of 10 or more. VERY VERY EXCELLENT CHOICE

    While the 19th century tavern ambience is charming, the food was average. The cuisine was a bit heavy and overdone. The polenta bites appetizer was made of cornmeal, as it should be, but was too fluffy to count as polenta. Service was good, however.

    We have been to the Blue Pig many times. This time was a bit different. My husband and I were rushed through our meal. We spent a lot of money and there was no one waiting. It was a very disappointing evening and not sure I will be going back again. Sad because I love it there.

    Whenever I am in south jersey and sausage gravy and biscuits are on the menu it’s a must have. The Blue Pig did not disappoint, and the home fries were just the way I liked them. Crunchy on the outside, tender and creamy on the inside. A perfect 10!
