Birthday for Mom
Everything was wonderful, the seasonal oysters were my daughters favorite :) It was my daughters birthday and they brought her fried ice cream on the house. We love The Blue Fish !
Excellent service. Tasty sushi
Food is fine, nothing spectacular but the restaurant is in a good location with a nice view of the lake.
Not as upscale as we expected for the area. Got sat at the bar even though we had table reservations... bar tender was pretty busy so the service wasn’t that great and my dates food came out 15 minutes before mine.
Nathan was the best servier I have had in years. It is very rare these days to get good service. He new the wine list and made a great recommendation. He knew details about all food items and again made some fabulous suggestions.
Nathan......you really made our Valentine's Night. We will be back to see you again!!
Serving size for sashimi ordered was noticeably smaller this time versus previous dining experiences at Blue Fish. Quality was about the same, but this was a little disappointing. Served salads and main course at the same time, which was awkward.
Good food, really good service
Love coming here for the mega lobster roll and the awesome drinks. A little pricey but happy hour is reasonable
Food was great. Server very helpful. Beautiful setting.
Always a fantastic meal at Blue Fish. The weekday lunch bento is a fantastic deal, but it's worth the price to visit at any time.
The drinks were great, the food was good and the waiter had fantastic recommendations.
Food took forever, then was borderline cold when it arrived. The waiter forgot to place our small plate order, so that arrived after main dish.
Great time, manager made sure we were happy!
If you truly want a large variety of super high quality sushi, look no further. The Blue Fish is the place to go.
We have eaten at The Blue Fish many times, but only go on evenings when the weather is nice. The patio is extremely inviting with a lovely view of Lake Woodlands and the adjoining gardens. (There are heaters in case the weather is chilly.) The indoor decor is fine after sunset but a bit dark when it's still light outside. The food is very good, and this visit in particular the service was outstanding. The mark-up on bottles of wine seems excessively high (roughly 400%) but the food is reasonably priced considering the ingredients. We will continue to enjoy this restaurant!
All I can say is that the food was ok. Too much soy sauce used on dishes. A bit on the pricey side. Ambiance needs some work.
Always great food and fun service.
We ate outside on a lovely evening so it was quiet. Food was excellent, but price of oysters was not properly explained, though correction was made without fuss when pointed out.
Very good food and good servi e
Good food and great service
Great time; great food; Manager is a delight!
Ehh. The rolls had way too much cream cheese and avocado. It's supposed to be a slither not a boulder lol. All we could taste was either cream cheese, avocado or both. I think with proper portions they would have tasted better but I couldn't even taste the fish or shrimp. And way too much eel sauce on top. It made them very soggy at the bottom. I guess that's why I usually get that on the side. Edamame was really good but the garlic flavored one is incredibly spicy. Can't imagine the actual spicy one. And even though I ordered the sushi before the rolls it came after which is also a bummer. I wanted it before. Don't know that I would return there are so many good sushi spots closer to us we just happened to be in the area. MF sushi reigns supreme!
Server was very friendly, we were seated right away (had a reservation.) The food was just average - not bad, just nothing amazing. It’s a little bit pricey too.
Loved the location next to Revention Music, but this one disappointed. Volcano roll had tons of scallops, but the sauce was barely spicy and mostly mayo flavored. The berry wonton tower was a huge disappointment as well... there oil may have been going bad because the wontons tasted off and there was minimal sweetness to the desert. The shrimp tempura and Philly roll were nothing special, but the Hawaii roll (with coconut and pineapple) was a pleasant surprise!
Server was curt, abrupt, and rude. She made it very clear that she was too stressed to deal with our table and the only time she ever hurried to provide service was when she was bringing our cheque and running our cards. Additional another server could not be bothered to bring the food to the individual member of our party, but rather came to the end of the table and asked us to pass the items to the middle party-members. Finally, the food took a ridiculously long time to make it to the table, especially the items for the children, which were the last to arrive. Overall an incredibly disappointing meal with friends visiting home from overseas.
We got a Firecracker roll and a California roll, both of which were pretty good.
Then the doodoo hit the fan, as they ran out of sushi rice for the nigiris, so they used unseasoned boiled white rice instead. Awful!
The equivalent of an Italian restaurant running out of tomato sauce and having you eat a pizza made with ketsup instead. They then offered us a round of beers, but they had run out of the one we were drinking.
The quality of the seafood was average at best. They did not run out of paper for the bill.
Best sushi, great service, great location!!!!!!!!!
The food is always fresh and good quality.
Fish was cooked perfectly but the fried rice was kind of bland
Sushi just fine vs other shushi places -
No whow factor for the price - 1 st time in Houston at this place
Cheap sushi for a high price. Just about every roll has spicy tuna which is cheap fish smothered in a spicy mayo mix.
Always high quality food and friendly service. Consistently good. My family eats here often.
The service, food and drinks were amazing! We will definitely be back!
The sushi was some of the worst we've ever had. Granted this is chain-restaurant sushi, it could have been better. Waited 6-8 minutes to give a beverage order. Bad, just bad, unfotunately.
Great kids Bento box!
Food was good, although slightly overpriced. Would have enjoyed our expierence more if not for the rude waiter. Strongly pressured us to order certain menu items and was judgemental if other options were chosen. Treated us as if we were not high-class enough to be dining in the restaurant even though there were two doctors at the table. Will not be dining here again for this reason.
Almost all the rolls have crab, cream cheese, or fried. Wish there were rolls that let the fish shine. All the fish we had was fresh, but probably wont be back be cause roll selection was poor for fish lovers.
I had the salmon. It was very dry and not flavorful. The menu choices were very limited. The service could’ve been better. I won’t go back
