Terrific service… Lovely table out in the courtyard… Super fresh, well prepared… A treat all the way around…
We ate on the charming patio at a table with an umbrella, and fountain behind us. We had excellent, prompt and friendly service, ate wonderful food, and appreciated the fact that our server remembered that we had a time deadline (to make a curain and park).
Staff was very accommodating! Food was delicious. Outside seating was very comfortable.
It was our anniversary and it was wonderful. We will definitely go back!
Really could not have been better. We were two couples and prefer outdoor dining. They were able to accommodate us nicely. Creative menu, food expertly prepared, excellent drinks, generous happy hour. Super friendly service. Real professionals, but not stuffy. Made for a perfect get together with long time friends.
Nice restaurant! Service and food were very good! My wife and I really liked the oysters! Would definitely recommend!
Hands down the largest selection of cold water oysters in Jacksonville. They are pricey at $2.95 each, but the freshness and quality of presentation is impeccable.
It would be nice if they offered various mignonettes, but the basic red wine vinegar version provided was certainly good enough.
Had the peach BBQ salmon special and it was quite tasty. I would return to try different dishes. Heard from others that the scallop and shrimp mac n cheese was wonderful. Two others enjoyed the lemon caper grouper.
Headed to Hamilton BlueFish was a new restaurant for me. Everything from the white sangria to the jasmine rice/curry/snapper was delish. Server was great but expect delays since everywhere is short staffed. Outside seating is very nice. I will definitely go back another time.
I was in town for a music festival and found this when I googled best Saturday brunch. Blue Fish did not disappoint. I had the blackened Mahi with lump crab. It was very tasty and paired perfectly with the grits.
This restaurant impresses with the complimentary fruit bowl or sweet bread starter AND complimentary dessert that you can select from a tray of delicious options. Unfortunately, they did not have any gluten free dessert options, but the desserts looked AMAZING.
I had the strawberry champagne mojito. It was perfect, not too sweet. Also, you could tell that they did not use the cheapest champagne possible as some places do for brunch drinks.
My server, Wyatt, was great. He was appropriately attentive without being intrusive.
The patio area allows pets. This is great for pet lovers, but I am allergic. The hostess was very gracious when I asked that a couple with a pony-sized dog not be seated next to me.
Overall, an amazing experience. I will return the next time I am in town. Also, a lot of locals were there, which is always a good sign.
Go 20min earlier than you intend to arrive because of the search for parking. Otherwise, the vibe is great. The tables are more elegant, the bar is vibrant. I sat at the bar and the sea bass was perfect. As always, great oysters.
Very disappointed in the service and the food. Food was awful. Not fresh but frozen with no flavor. Never got the appetizer we ordered and the sever did seem to care about much.
It was a bit loud...but it was a robust Saturday night. Service did not fall short of very wonderful!!!!! Will goo back in the "very" near future and so looking forward to that time.
Loved the back patio idea but thought it could use a little sprucing up.
This will be our go to place when in Jacksonville. The food was outstanding, the service warm and personable and we had an awesome time!
We were served by Gemma who did a fantastic job. The crab bisque was fresh, hot, and delicious. The bisque was super heavy, suggest ordering a cup for an appetizer. I ordered the snapper, blackened with crab topping. Oh, we shared the meatballs to start which was fantastic. One of our favorite restaurants. We’ll be back again soon.
I made the reservation for our 11th anniversary. And noted that on the reservation. They seated us in a back room. No ambience. I asked them to reseat us and they did. We had a drink at the bar and we’re not acknowledged. The food was ok and they never acknowledged our anniversary. Total bill including tip was 150.
We had reservations and was not seated until 45mins later.
49th anniversary and they gave us a dessert without us even asking. Service was great as was the food
Stylish and excellent presentation of our brunch, the fresh coffee cake, fruit cup and calm ambiance made our Sunday brunch very pleasant!
We had brunch here for the first time today. We were able to sit outside in the courtyard and it was a great place to eat. We started with some drinks, I had Peach Sangria, my husband had a Bloody Mary that he really enjoyed. My nephew had a Mimosa which he said was mostly Orange Juice. The waiter recommended he try one of the Bellini’s and he did and was much happier with that. Each of us had something different and we all enjoyed us meals very much. I had the Blackened Mahi with Lump Crabmeat. Very fresh piece of fish and the portion size perfect. My husband had the Shrimp and Grits and must have enjoyed because his plate was clean. My nephew had the Biscuits and Gravy that came with eggs and breakfast potatoes. That was a lot of food and he was not able to finish it but he did enjoy it. My niece had waffles that she enjoyed and her fiancé had a Breakfast Burrito. Our server was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed brunch this past weekend before making our way to the Jaguars game. Our server was wonderful and everything we ordered was delicious. I'm a big fan of the Quiche of the Day and my husband loved his Bananas Fosters French Toast. We really miss the "old" days of having the cold bar offerings at brunch, however the complimentary fruit and/or cinnamon bread and complimentary dessert tray offerings were great too. Hoping the cold bar can return one day! Thanks for the great meal.
The service was absolutely terrible. We had been at the restaurant for close to an hour and our server had not even asked if we wanted to order an entrée. When we inquired about the oysters available, the server had no idea how to describe them and said that some were big and salty. That was it for the description. We also ordered an appetizer and it took 15 minutes for the server to inform us that they were out of that item for the night. The lack of attention from the server for the hour and 15 minutes we were there is why we will never go back there.
Simply put, the best restaurant for fresh seafood in Jacksonville, period. It doesn't get any better than this, folks! Sword Fish topped with crab and beurre blanc, yum! Shrimp Hush Puppies were an awesome special appetizer of the night but I'll be honest, I swiped some of my husband's horseradish from his oysters so please Blue Fish, try something other than ranch for dipping next time!
I was surprised to go to BlueFish and see that no staff or customers were wearing masks. While I don't expect people who are eating and drinking to be wearing masks, I think that it is irresponsible for a restaurant to not require masks of their staff or of customers who are walking around the premises. We are still in the midst of a deadly pandemic and we do not have enough people vaccinated yet. I will not be returning to BlueFish if this policy continues until the pandemic is under control. I also felt the quality of the food had dropped considerably from other visits.
Wonderful food and evening. Definitely will be back.
Excellent food and service! Will definitely go back again!
Amazing and our server was so knowledgeable! Will be returning.
Very nice evening out for my husband’s birthday. Several areas to choose from to sit: outdoors in patio, sidewalk, bar and indoor seating as well as upper level. Server was excellent. Crab dip was great. Busy dining/entertainment area, reservations recommended, parking a bit challenging.
Great service and food. We sat outside in the courtyard in the rear of the restaurant.
We sat in the courtyard and it was a nice evening...
We made a reservation but they had no table for us. We waited 30 minutes at the bar but they forgot about us and were seating people walking in. We reminded them we were waiting and after much confusion and a bit of attitude, they seated us in the banquet room next to a very drunk and very loud birthday party where we waited for nothing. No server ever came. We never got so much as a glass of water. We left with a headache and without dinner.
Delicious food but very small portions for the price
Great service…amazing food! Will definitely return
Perfect choice for a special birthday celebration! Our waitress, Lucy was fantastic!
The food, service, everything was outstanding!
Usually great service not so much this time However one of my favorite places will return Ill say it was Just an off day
Our server, Selene, was very personable, but that was the best part of the experience. I understand that times are hard right now, but I don't mind waiting for food if it's good. I never use salt, and even after using quite a bit of salt and pepper, my dish still lacked flavor, but the potatoes were good. The same feeling was shared around the table. No, I didn't send the food back; I was hungry. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but the experience was not great. Even with the way things are now, food can still be flavorful. I eat out almost every night, so I know this is possible right now. I am very patient with times and staff, but I want to enjoy it once I get my meal.
The service was slow. The waitress forgot to put in drinks more than once, constantly forgot the lime for my husbands corona. The Bloody Mary I had was just tomato juice with lemon and not tasty. The medium steamed oysters ended up being small black dots in the shell, stale saltine crackers and the calamari was limp, very limp and rubbery. My dish was the key lime pasta and was decent. Nothing key lime, just the lime slice on the top of the pasta. Not a big portion so no left overs. My husband got the fried shrimp (6 count). Can really mess up fried shrimp and fries but the coleslaw had no taste at all. I wouldn’t return. $125 and left hungry. The restaurant itself was not nice inside as I thought it would be, highly disappointed. It was our anniversary and was looking to be spoiled by the waiting staff and served awesome food.
Outstanding food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
I love Bluefish. We started with a flat bread that was seasoned perfectly with a crispy crust. The ceasar was next, very crisp, but a little heavy on the dressing for me. Finally, I had the key lime shrimp pasta. Both the shrimp and pasta were cooked perfectly and the key lime sauce was so good I wanted to drink it.
Food was excellent, no disappointment. Server friendly, offered suggestions.
Standard table area quite noisy.
