The Blue Fish Restaurant
This was our first time at this restaurant which focuses on seafood. From The stone crab to the coconut shrimp all of us were very pleased with our dinners. The best part was our 3 year old grandson who loved the crab and his plate of shrimp. The shrimp and grits and shrimp with scallops were also very tasty. Nice place, cool vibe.
The quality of the food was the highlight. Service and mixed drinks were disappointing.
Mussels appetizer very tasty & mussels were good size. Appetizer was large enough to share. Entree was beautifully presented and delicious!
Wonderful meal and service, really made my daughter's Birthday extra special
The food was just okay, not the best I’ve ever had and not the worst. The temperature of the crab dip good have been warmer. We remembered why we haven’t been there in a really long time.
Overall great meal busy
The service was very good (Emily) and the food excellent - The house oysters were a good value at half the price of the specialty and had a nice mild flavor.
Two of us had the snapper - Crescent City style excellent sauce
One had the rainbow trout - Old Bay style - worth trying
One had a salad with grilled grouper - excellent preparation - moist and cooked perfectly
Blue Fish always has good food + service, however their brunch is phenomenal – not only is the food great, but the price is amazing.
Charming location, valet parking, great fish dishes, using only the freshest ingredients. Loved it!
Always a joy to dine at Blue Fish! The brunch is one of the best anywhere!
The waitress was not very friendly or fun to interact with.
We had a reservation at 6pm and ordered only appetizers and drinks, knowing we had to leave by 7:25 to go to a show close by. Our server was friendly and receptive when I told her we had time constraints. The bar was busy, the restaurant fairly busy, but not full. It took a long time to get drinks from the bar and 40+ minutes to get our appetizers- which were excellent, but we had to rush so couldn't enjoy them as much as we should have been able to. We'll be back, but will not on an evening when we have tickets to anything. Plan for friendly, but slow service both from the bar and kitchen.
Went for their brunch which includes an all you can eat cold bar/dessert bar. Everything was wonderful. The sever, Lily, was especially great! I recommend this place to everyone!
The quality of the food was very good. We both had fish with different preparations - Rainbow Trout and Salmon. Enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and crab bisque appetizers.
The waitress was wonderful and very attentive.
We ate on the patio next to the fountain which was very pleasant even on a cool evening.
The portions were very good sized - we had left overs that were enjoyed for dinner the next evening.
My wife loved the crème brulee for dessert and I enjoyed the key lime pie.
Very good location to celebrate Valentine's weekend.
Overall, our experience was good. But that’s just it: given the options for seafood in this town, it was just ‘good’. I don’t mean this in a bad way. It’s just there was nothing about the food, settings or ambiance that set it apart from the crowd. For the money, there are better places. Here, I think you’re paying for the location more than anything else.
The Sock it to Me shrimp appetizer was great. Just the right level of kick, and it left us wanting more. I ordered the grilled mahi (just grilled). It was good, but lacking in seasoning. It came prepared in their Old Bay mixed grill style (with scallops and shrimp) for an additional $6. I never asked for this upgrade, and it’s odd that the flavor was still so bland. I would have asked about the upgrade I didn’t request, but by now I can see where this is going. The vegetables that accompanied the fish were fresh, but your basic green beans and squash. They weren’t very warm, so that didn’t help.
The lobster ravioli was a disappointment. It fell short of what we expected , but would have been better with a more flavorful sauce. The one that came with them was bland and just out of place.
Our very polite and attentive server offered dessert, but we declined and made our exit. We’d heard a lot of good words about this place, but unfortunately, will have to ad it to our ‘been there, done that’ list.
Was upset at first because I made a reservation to sit inside and they sat us outside. Enjoyed outside but table was wobbly. Food was good and wife was happy.
Very nice and relaxed atmosphere with excellent service and food.
When we arrived we were asked to be seated next to the door, even though there were plenty of tables available. Who wants to sit right next to the door on a chilly day when you don't have to? We were a party of two, so I am not sure why they tried to seat us at a table for 4. The table they seated us at (finally) was set up, but not wiped down very well and had food residue all over it. Not very clean or appetizing. Our server was very nice, but had WAY too many tables to attend to and was running around like crazy, so we were reluctant to ask him for anything. The place is extremely noisy - not great for a romantic dinner. The food was very good though. We're not sure if we will be back, but we would recommend the food.
My husband and I went there for dinner on Valentine’s Day, I loved that when we arrived we gave our name and was immediately seated. Due to overcrowding when I made the reservation we had to do courtyard sitting outside however is was a very nice romantic setting with candles and the outdoor heaters were on. Definitely will back !
It was our first time and it was an overall good experience
First time there. Will definitely come back
We booked a late reservation on Open Table for 10:45 pm and arrived at 10:30. When we arrived we were told by the hostess that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. They sat us and then when our waiter arrived, we were told again the kitchen closes in 15 minutes. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer. We finished our drinks and our waiter asked if we wanted another and then reminded us AGAIN that the kitchen and now bar were about to close. We then tried to order our food and both items we tried to order were out. Understandable being the late time we arrived but being as they reminded us three times we were late, they should have saved some time by telling us what they did not have. The food was very tasty but my advice would be to the manager, don’t allow reservations for the time your kitchen closes so your guests don’t feel like they are being rushed and frowned upon by the staff who so clearly wanted to close and go home.
We sat outside and although it was a little chilly, the heaters made it perfect. Our server was good and pleasant, but we did notice that others around us were getting food before us, even though we arrived before them. Our drinks came as we were finishing our appetizer. Our entrees took awhile. It was fine, we were talking and having wine, but it took almost 50 minutes for our meals to come. Timing just seemed off.... not sure if that was the server or the kitchen/bar, but we’ll come back because overall it was good. Maybe just an off night.
It must have been a surprise they were serving brunch on Sunday. They were out of sausage gravy, bacon, syrup and it was only 1:00. Everything we had was very good though
we ordered calamari to start which was excellent but the chef felt like we didn’t get a fair portion so he sent out another one. We never asked or complained which I thought was a nice gesture. The snapper was cooked perfect. Overall a fantastic meal
Very Lovely. Rashand was very knowledgeable and attentive. Great
Really wanted to give them 4.5 stars! The only thing holding them back was service a little off. Nice enough waitress just a bit disorganized and slow.
Oysters were great quality and well shucked. A very nice variety of menu options. My Scottish Trout with Lump Crab was outstanding!
It was a sunny warmish day so doors were open which gave a delightful ambience.
Overall a great experience!
Food tastes amazing. Amazing wait staff! Very inviting. A little overpriced but great for a date night or drinks. Will return again
Always a pleasure to share a great brunch with family at the Blue Fish.
We had a great experience last night. It was a packed house and we ended up being seated by the front door which was not optimal, but again every seat was full so the rest of the experience made up fo that small drawback. The food was amazing from appetizers through the last bite of our meals. We based our selections on the recommendations of our server Sarah, and they were spot on. Sarah was sweet, attentive, engaging and still courteous of the fact that my wife and I were enjoying a date night so a little private conversation was uninterrupted. My wife said the lobster bisque was the best she has ever had anywhere. Every bite of the meal was a treat. We will be back often and Sarah will be our first request.
We were seated on time and ordered our food on the first round of the server. Received our appetizer about 15 minutes later and it was warm ( a little more than room temperture). After another 30 minutes we asked about our main entree and was told we were 3rd in line. At that point I told our server we were going to have to leave and to bring our check. 5 minutes later after asking again, we got the check and it had the main course on it. As I was getting ready to complain our main dish came out. We had to have it packaged to go as we were out of time. When it came back, i tried it before we left and once again the order was only warm and tasted horrible. There really was no flavor and the seafood was chewy. The manager did refund the entire order, eventhough we offered to pay for the appetizer, which we ate despite it being the wrong temperture.
Great oysters friendly staff fun place nice neighborhood good value
The food was outstanding. The service was exceptionally slow. Even with the slow service I would have given a better review if not for the episode we had with our waitress. The glass the beer was served in was broken at the rim. When we pointed it out to her she took the beer away. What happened next was disconcerting because she brought the beer back in an new glass.... Literally poured what remained of the beer in the chipped glass into the new glass. As if that was not bad enough the next beer he received came once again in another chipped glass.
Best seafood we’ve had in a long time! A little noisy but the food was off the chain!
Jen was a great server. The wine was great and the snapper was so flavorful.
Had a great anniversary meal. Loved that we could sit outside by the fountain, with a heater. Great oyster combo appetizer. The scallop and shrimp mac was awesome . As well as the Mahi. Would definitely go back.
Experience was very nice. Server was ok.
Terrible experience! Was seated next to filthy stairwell, server complaining to us about another table, was rude to us and waited an hour to receive entrees. Crab bisque was good, oysters were too. Didn’t get past appetizers. When the e trees did get served, I didn’t get what I ordered and my wife’s order was cold. Had to insist to see a manager. To their credit, when the manager did come, he comped the bill. Better training g of wait staff would be advised.
