Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - Houston
Poorly managed, waiting 20 minutes for someone to take drink order. Won’t be back
I have eaten at The Blue Fish before and everything was phenomenal. Unfortunately, my date’s meal was subpar. I ordered a sushi roll and tuna tower which both were great!!! My date ordered fried rice and teriyaki chicken. The rice was great, chicken was good, veggies were overcooked and the rice was soaked in teriyaki sauce. She ordered some potstickers and they came out cold. She was rather disappointed.
The fish was fresh and so flavorful! Just want to make sure to say there certainly were great points! Just a little disappointing.
The sushi was excellent but we had to keep asking for all of the rolls/sushi we ordered.
I had the teriyaki chicken. It was good but heavy on the bell peppers.
Service was very slow even though there were only 3 tables. They brought us the check when we hadn't finished eating or ordering.
The food was the worst we’ve had since arriving in Houston
We stupidly went for hot entrees as weather was cold and rainy although the nearby diners comments in the sushi weren’t great either.
The popcorn shrimp tasted like it came straight from a Freezer packet, the chicken I had was so dry and rubbery and my husbands ribs were not very toasty at all
It was our anniversary dinner! Ahi Tuna tower was so good!!
Great waiter who helped us navigate through the menu! Great food! The Miami Vice was our favorite and the Plum Sangria. Perfect for a dinner before any theater events
Our waiter was exceptional and very attentive to our need.
We always go there before going to the opera and it is perfect
We always like to go there before an opera at the Wortham Center. The restaurant is very constant in quality..
The waiter was quick to replace my red wine glass because there was a fly in the glass ( two times in a row).
Mistake corrected so we are OK
First time to "The Blue Fish" We loved sitting outside to enjoy the activity in Downtown Houston. Food was amazing - presentation outstanding. I high recommend The Blue Fish.
We went prior to going to the theater. Great food and they make the effort to make sure you are ready to leave on time for the show.
Food was very ygood. Liked table location. Service was ok.
They said even though we had a reservation they were too crowded and would have to wait 30 mins. We sat at the bar instead. They also didn’t put in one item out of our order. We’ve been here many times and this was the first time we’ve had any issues with the service.
The sashimi and nigiri were a little uninspiring. It seems like the rolls, teriyaki and tempura items are a better choice at Blue Fish.
Always love eating here!
The black cod was a very small portion for $26. It was good and well prepared. Just not a good value. Agadashi tofu very good. I didn’t appreciate several Email notices that my table would be given away if I was 15 minutes late. We were there from 5:30 to almost 7:00, and the restaurant was never more than 30% full! Isn’t there enough stress in the world without y’all getting hyper about giving my table away. The little restaurant that cried wolf.
The food tasted alright, but did not look fresh and crisp.
Slow lack luster staff, not knowledgeable about menu or saki. The food is over priced for the quality. You are paying for location.
The food is always fresh and delicious! We tried the stuffed jalapeños and they were amazing! The fresh Yellowfin Belly is one of our faves! The drinks are always well balanced and not too sweet. We sat on the patio and it was nice to people watch since there was a concert next door. Overall, we enjoyed our date and will be coming back soon!
The menu was complicated, especially the single sheet handout, but the waiter was VERY helpful. We ended up asking his recommendations on several items and he was spot on. Also a great location — we love downtowns. Prices were reasonable. We even had desserts which were great. Again, his recommendations.
Miguel our waiter was wonderful and enjoyed my lunch.
Blue Fish was delightful, as always! The noise level was low because it was Sunday noontime, so there were not many people in the restaurant...
The staff was very attentive. Good sushi and tempura. My wife’s chicken teriyaki was also very good. They give you an order sheet and pencil to use in ordering your sushi, which I always find to be convenient. Overall, very good.
Love the salmon entree and my husband loves the sushi. Great service and finished in plenty of time to walk across the street for our Sunday matinee at the Alley Theatre. Highly recommend!!
Great place to meet friends before the theater or ballet,
Overpriced because of location. Not the worst sushi I’ve ever had, but below average. Priced like much better sushi restaurants.
I love the sushi and fried soft shell blue crab. This is great place to dine before going to a concert or show.
We had a very nice experience at The Blue Fish. Plan to go there again.
Food and service was great but Bathrooms were in bad shape for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Good sushi. Rainforest roll was the bomb. Wife got the poke bowl.
Nothing to really write about. Dishes were generally good but the Blue Fish Trio of sushi was a little disappointing due to the size of the serving. Last we had this the pieces were about twice the size of what was served this time.
Ahi Tower great as ever. Salmon sashimi was good, but not outstanding; usually rich and wonderful, but fish was off this time. Veggie tempura outstanding. Our waiter was very efficient and polite. We will be back.
Server was nice but wasn't attentive. Food was just meh outside of the tempora and unagi. Sushi was grey; not appealing. Wasabi from a tube. Not sure why this place is rated that high.
Overall amazing experience. The food was amazing and the ahi tower is a must try!
We visit blue fish downtown Houston many times throughout the year. This one stands out because the food was not up to the standard they previously set for themselves. Also, the service was a bit slow considering that the restaurant was not full and there were not many activities downtown that day. I'm hoping this was a one-off situation.
Good place for a pre theater event. Quality sushi, attentive service and a nice atmosphere made this an experience we will repeat again
Food and martinis were good. The waiter was pleasant and appeared desirous to please, but he was a very poor listener. As a result, he confused many details and was not responsive to dimple requests. Perhaps he was just inexperienced.
Great place to go before a show! Great food and drinks!
Guy was rude when we first arrived. He seemed like he didn't want to be there. When someone has a crappy attitude, maybe don't make them the host.
