We went with a reservation and the hostess wouldn 't allowed us to seat outside cause, even though there were empty tables, she said "they were reserved". We stayed for two hours ,only two parties came and the hostess gave them the choice to seat outside or inside.
We order a Baileys. restaurant didn't have any. We order a Maitai. The waiter said, "It doesn't have the same ingredients we don't have the sweet Myers Rum. 4 mini tacos for 24 dollars is just too much, especially when there was nothing special about them. We left with no intention to come back

I took my mom and dad to celebrate father's day. We sat inside where the music was a little loud for my parents but it was such a hot day we wanted to be in the air conditioning. The outside patio looked really nice with a view of the lake. The food was delicious except for the "hot pocket" appetizer which really did taste like the hot pockets you buy at the grocery - it was super salty. The cocktails were amazing with fresh ingredients and unusual combinations. Our server was very attentive and food came out quickly. Overall a wonderful spot for our father's day celebration!

I think that they should have happy hour until atleast 7pm like Claim Jumper. The drinks are very expensive other wise. There were 3 of us... 2 drinks each and one salad was $80

Dined here about 8 times in past 6 weeks.

A true gem. Not only is the food exceptional, but the staff is phenomenal. Everyone is lots of fun, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and willing to explain anything about the menu.

Thanks guys for making such a fun and tasty dining experience every time.

Not a good brunch spot, but seemingly a great spot for catching up, having a few drinks with co-workers, friends. Food was on the pricier side, but tasty, smallish portions, more tapas friendly, than say sit down and eat a square meal atmosphere. Had lots of $11-$15 drinks that looked all worthy of trying. Good atmosphere, seemed like 20-30 something crowd later, locals are earlier. Good view over the lake, esp if you sit outside.

Service was courteous and prompt but we went to Blind Pig specifically for two items listed on their website for over a year: pork belly and bone marrow. We were told these items had been dropped "quite a while ago." While we did not appreciate the bait-and-switch tactic to lure us into the restaurant, we stayed to order their puff pastry small plate and octopus entree. Both were way too small for the way too high price. Puff pastry was tasty but lacked enough filling to make the price worth it. The octopus came in a grossly oversized bowl, which made the meager portion appear even smaller. Taste and presentation were not memorable but the overpricing was. Will not return.

Excellent food only outdone by the service. Just as the best meal can be less than a stellar experience due to the service, excellent food can only be enhanced by great service. Jonathan provided such great service, recommending his favorites and seeing how we liked them. We'll definitely be back. .

We are doing our bucket list of the Registers top 75 Restaurants and this was on it.
Drove from Villa Park. We knew it was a brew pub and it is very cute. Waitress was attentive and good. The food was very good, tasty but my DH though a little expensive for the portions served. Probably a one time for us only cause of the distance. 50 more places on the list to try.

Ordered brussels sprouts, burrata, burger, fries & bone marrow toast for the table. Bone marrow toast is not tasty and not worth it. We just ordered it to try a new item. Everything else is delicious. We had a table on the patio with a view of the lake, which makes it a very appealing place for lunch. We plan to go back. Will try happy hour.

Awesome place. The only reason it's a 4 of 5 star is because we have young kids. Nothing about this place is catered for kids, but we made it work. Still a fantastic place, and will recommend.

Overpriced and over-salted are how I would summarize this place. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, from the Brussels sprouts, bone marrow toast, the wagyu burger, and the cassoulet, but we were consistently underwhelmed and found ourselves constantly reaching for our drinks because everything was too salted. The service was good and attentive enough, but I could have gotten the same meal from any local chain restaurant, which may not necessarily use a whole bunch of "fancy" ingredients, for a lot less.

Party of 4 - ordered together and the orders came out as much as 15 minutes apart - what made it worse was the food was cold after waiting to be served last when the other people with me were finished - not good

Instead of a credit they simply threw it in the microwave and reserved the same meal - again not good

We made a reservation. Drove over (15 mins). Greeted the hostess and game our name. She told us we just recently made our reservations and so the only seating option was on the patio (there were 4 empty tables inside) but that the heaters were on and it was nice and warm.

We went out to see, and it was NOT warm at all. It was about 55 outside.

We went in to explain that I wasn't going to be able to sit outside and this we would need to leave, which we did.

instead of cancelling out reservation, so we could re-book, we were stuck. Sooo I'd suggest releasing our reservation next time or at least seating in order of arrival, or closing outdoor when it's so cold ..were apologetic, but it was just too darn cold and we didn't have winter coats

We had a reservation for 6:00 last Friday night. They seated us at a table for two along a bench wall. We were in the process of ordering and the hostess can up to our table and said "just so you know we have a reservation for this table at 8:15". I was not happy. Won't be back. Manager/management very poor management style when a hostess tells a regular customer they need to evacuate the table in 2-hours. Just so you know...we won't be back and will defer all of our friends from Coto to Carmelita's. Adios pendajos!!.

VISIT #1:

After an odd night of bar hopping (which isn't saying much based on the available spots in the area) we landed here on whim. A couple hours later, we found ourselves circled around the fire reveling in our newfound appreciation or dare I say, a self proclaimed "expertise" in handcrafted cocktails? Suffice it to say, the drinks were awesome. Our waiter was awesome - Maybe even too awesome, for after explaining the various nuances and idiosyncrasies inherent in our drinks, he had me convinced that I could taste whatever shrub or small-batch bitters were used (I couldn't) - I'm pretty sure my palette has been beaten senseless by fistful's of Sriracha and Del Scorcho over the years, however, there was one irrevocable truth: the drinks were good. Damn good.

VISIT #2:

The goal was simple: try the food and try the food with some of those cocktails. We did - and it was all that we had imagined.

(queue the "slow clap")

This was a party of 10 and I was celebrating my birthday. Power went out during our dinner, so our night was cut short. They had to manually write our reciept and manually take our credit card number ( which I don't think is PCI Compliant) or give cash, so we had to go across Bank of America to pull out cash, so that took forever. None of the food wow'd us. Tacos were not great on taco Tuesday. Do not get the bone marrow, not worth it. Drinks were the only thing good in my opinion.

This is our second visit to the Blind Pig and we absolutely loved it both times. We sat outside on a couch by a fire pit and enjoyed some R&B music that was just at the right level. Our server, Andrew, was very personable and made us feel welcome. We ordered Manhattan's and he had a Vermouth that we wanted to suggest. He brought us out a taste. The drinks were absolutely perfect. The Blind Pig has a small kitchen and a light menu and whoever is cooking in that small kitchen is very good. We split four small plates including a very well prepared octopus dish and another dish with burrata and apples that is one of the best dishes we have ever had. We would highly recommend the Blind Pig and look forward to visiting it again on our annual trip out to Missio Viejo for Thanksgiving.

This place has great potential however I think they may be trying a little too hard with the food ... while the gnocchi sounded right up my alley ...all brown butter & sage oil; in reality it was more like a breakfast dish than dinner... too sweet & way too many pecans just thrown on top almost like an after thought... we sent it back & they graciously did not charge us for it. Same with the burrata on the starter menu- more like an apple pie dessert & again the pecans so unfortunate. On the positive side Branzino had a delicious red curry sauce & the beet poke was unique
The staff are enthusiastic & music & ambiance really cool

The service was great, the food was good, dessert was NOT good, I tried the bread pudding and it was very dry and had no flavor. The music was too loud and didn't fit the ambiance. When someone looks at a lake view I don't think they would want to listen to rock and roll, just my opinion. I like this place and would go back again.

What a find! American Gastro Pub. Pretty limited menu but everything was fabulous. Really eclectic versions of everyday food. Sausage board, street tacos, and soba noodles were all excellent. Good variety of craft beers. Would have preferred some SoCal favorites like Ballast Point or Lagunitas. Hard to choose a beer when they are all so fruity or wheat.

We will go back again and again. Sit outside if you want to hear yourself think.

Good food, worth a try once. I went for dinner Saturday 10/1. My husband & I tried it for the first time. He was happy with the beer selection. The mixed drinks were unique. There was a mix up when two people brought my husband the same beer. We ordered 2 appetizers: bone marrow & a buratta spiced apple blend. The bone marrow is small with a lot of bacon but a specialty for those that know marrow. It's not cheap but it was good once you scrapped off some of the bacon. I ordered the halibut, it was a little pricier than a an average fish restaurant but cooked very well and very mild with a crunchy quinoa on top. I loved this treatment to the quinoa and found this very good. My husband's osso bucco was not so good. It was overcooked and tough in some spots and flavorless. Not sure if this was a down night but I have to give an average rating. The server was friendly but when we shared the osso bucco feedback, he stated "...you ate half so I can't help you out." We actually didn't even plan on asking but to make this comment was awkward and made us feel a bit uncomfortable. I think this is run by some young hipsters still learning the restaurant biz.

The vibe was great and the live music was amazing but it took way too long for food and the menu felt over priced. If the service was faster I might not have cared but for an appetizer two over priced meals and a handful of drinks it was not worth the $200. I go back for happy hour but not any other occasion

Wanna be Gastro Pup with out achieving the goal. Friendly staff but one ever knows if a person is staff or friend of the bar or delivery personnel. Very nicely sorted bar (stupid expensice pricing with minimal pours), beer selection so so, wine selection poor. Nice patio with view of RSM lake. Dinning room has these long communal bar tables - great for bigger groups - not so much for parties of 2-3. There are 2 corner window booth seats which are nice - the location of the rest of the table is out right shitty. Right in the server traffic lane, patio door constantly slams very loudly - annoying as hell. The place is not energetic - it is LOUD! Menu sounds great but execution lacks big time. Spicy octopus was nothing but cut up Octopus in hot sauce (Octopus was tender though) - boring. Sausage platter was 2 (two) pinky size sausages on red cabbage for US$ 18 (freaking rip off). Chicken entree was found to palatable. Wagyu (yeah right) burger looked like one of those frozen type of burgers from Trader Joe's.
In all - the same problems as one finds so often. Concept great, potential enormous, execution = major fail. Bring in a knowledgeable management team (or just some people with common sense) and this place could be turned into a "go to" destination. For this reviewer, not so much

This was our first time dining at the Blind Pig and it was wonderful! Great environment, live music, beautiful scenery when dining on the patio. Very few places offer pork osso bucco and I was very excited to see it. Mine was a little overcooked, but still good. They also had some new wines; always up for finding a new favorite! I just invited some friends to have dinner this weekend and asked if they would like Blind Pig... :)

Blind Pig is a hype place and while we are foodies, the menu and pricing doesn't seem to balance. The cocktails were great with quality house blends. our friends rave about the place but it's mixed reviews on food. The fries were good, but mostly "end" pieces, the other quirky menu items seem to be quirky for the sake of being quirky. would be nice to at least have some heartier selections, maybe pork belly.
