If you haven't eaten at The Blacksmith you should. Always a treat! Excellent food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. Try the Brined Pork Chop and the Organic Beet Salad.

The service was fast and very polite, no one was trying to ask how your food was every a few minutes which is nice. i was very able to have a nice conversation with my date and not have to talk very loud to be heard. the food was delicious and set up beautifully. i would definitely recommend going here!

It was hard to choose an entry since the menu contained so many excellent items. Special notice for the roses and complimentary hors d'oeuvre presented for our anniversary. We were seated in a very comfortable corner booth in a room that was relatively quiet although busy. Attentive wait-staff made for a very pleasant time. Prices were quite reasonable as well.

We were in Bend for my birthday. I chose The Blacksmith for dinner. The service was warm and excellent. They started us with a surprise Amuse Bouche that was very tasty! We had the beef stroganoff and ribeye. Both full of flavor and the ribeye was a perfect medium as was requested.
We were impressed and will return.

Our waitress was top notch and the Tomahawk for two was over the top good, and even reasonably priced for what we got. Love The Blacksmith. Our favorite steakhouse in Bend.

A fabulous experience from start to finish. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation, so we were seating in the waiting area (great comfy couches) and offered beverages. Dressed up for a night out, our hostess offer us the option of a ready table for two, or to wait a few extra minutes for a 'better' table for two. We opted to wait, which was absolutely worth it. We were seated in a cozy, romantic booth. Our waitress, Ashley was fantastic. The food was beautiful and perfectly prepared, and the wine selection was lovely.

Great restaurant! Our waitstaff was attentive and friendly but not overly so. She made recommendations to me for what I could eat since I'm allergic to dairy. They made the risotto specially for my dietary needs. The food was superb! Everyone around us was celebrating something whether it was job success, anniversary or birthday. Nice atmosphere, not too bright yet you can see your food. Highly recommended!

My wife and I visit Bend every year since we moved out west three years ago. We found the Blacksmith our first year and we’ll go back there every year for that meal until I’m dead. I’m 35, so let’s hope there’s many more visits.

First a big positive was no corkage fee for a bottle you bring that they don’t carry. This is for one bottle per table but worth and unusual for most restaurants. It is one reason we chose to go here. Their specialty is a “tomahawk steak” which is 24 oz rib eye two people can share. We are not big steak eaters but had this. It was cooked perfectly (we had it rare plus). It came with two baked potatoes and two sides. The service was not rushed which was great. Our server even took our order but waited until we told her we were ready fir it to be cooked which was great as we ordered appetizers and enjoyed our wine for awhile.
Overall it was a good experience but the menu tends toward the steakhouse type menu which is fine but not our first choice for eating out. If someone is though this is a great choice.

From the minute our group of 5 walked in, to the minute we left, our experience at Blacksmith was top notch! As a group of 50-plus-aged women, it was refreshing to have so much care and attention given to us. My experience in bars and restaurants is often disappointing in that I feel “invisible” compared to the youthful customers. I can say with certainty that I did not feel the slightest bit invisible at Blacksmith.

Excellent service, delicious food that was prepared as requested. Our server was delightful and attentive, but not intrusively so. The meal was spaced so as to never feel rushed. Good selection of entrees. Our friends had salmon and halibut which which they were very pleased. My wife loved her steak but would have preferred her fries to be not over the delicious sauce. My pork chop with Brussels sprouts and polenta was superb! An excellent restaurant for a quality dinner with friends or for a special occasion.

3rd time-others very good but this time not very good. I had brined pork chop which was an orange sized ball that was very tough and not flavorful. Cajun medallions was good as were salads. I grill pork chips frequently. I use 1 1/2 to 2 inch bone in pchops which gives better flavor and evenly cooked. This was not good at all-I'm not usually a complainer and have never sent something back, but could have with this. Richard and Vicki Johnston

We've eaten at Blacksmith's at least half a dozen times. The food has always been pretty good, and we appreciate the 'no corkage fee' as long as the wine you bring is not offered at the restaurant. On this occasion, it was my husband's birthday, and the restaurant recognized that by bringing out a 'one bite' appetizer - which was nice and very tasty. One thing we noted, however, on a couple of previous occasions is the saltiness of the food. On our last visit, I had ordered brussel sprouts which were, in my opinion, inedible. Don't get me wrong. I do salt my food. But the salt level in the brussel sprouts and even some of the other dishes was way too high. So, on this occasion, my husband and I requested that they not salt our dishes as heavily as 'their norm'. The waitress said that she would tell the chef, and actually commented that the kitchen does seem to be heavy-handed with regards to their use of butter and salt. When my halibut and my husband's steak came out, we both noted that the salt level was again very high. It's really not fun to wake up in the middle of the night, and feel dehydrated. Why? Why so much salt? So, unless someone at the restaurant can assure me that I can order off the menu and not have the dish over salted, my husband and I both agreed we will probably not return to Blacksmith's. On a side note, we've noted (and the waitress also commented the same) that the restaurant does not have seasonal specials (except for their soup). It surprises me that, with this caliber of a restaurant, the chef does not make the effort to use what's freshest and in season. Too bad.

Blacksmith was recommended by a family member as we were in town for the weekend and wanted somewhere special for our wedding anniversary. The hostess was wonderful. She put extra (& thoughtful) effort into re-seating us so my husband and I could sit closer together due to his hearing impairment. We didn't think to ask ahead and she was very kind to re-arrange so we could have a nice dinner conversation. Plus it wasn't overly noisy so conversation was comfortable. :)
Our meals were delicious. Halibut perfectly cooked, great flavor combinations. The Chicken Marsala was a plate of savory goodness. The wine choice perfect and the wait staff attentive but not hovering. We'll return here without hesitation.

We were visiting from out of town and celebrating our anniversary, from the moment we were shown to out booth, we knew this was a special place. Two long stem roses awaited us, our waitress Molly provided outstanding service. Our meals were prepared to perfection, I had the Tender Rouge and my husband had the Steak and fries, highly recommend both dishes, we also ordered the brussel spouts with bacon, over the top delicious. We highly recommend The Blacksmith restaurant!

Second visit to this restaurant and I still love the ambiance in the authentic old blacksmith. It's very dark inside but we had a table by the window - best of both worlds. The service was excellent. I had the filet and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare, and the sides were very very good and creative, with sautéed greens, onions and sunchokes. We ordered a side dish of green beans and they were rather flavorless and a bit long in the tooth. My husband had the halibut with rice and it was good but a bit on the dull side. For dessert we tried the house-made Aztec chocolate ice cream, and I was hoping for dark chocolate, spicy flavor, but instead it was cinnamon and mild chocolate. Very nice texture but it needs more chocolate (never enough chocolate)!

Disappointed with the quality of the food generally - halibut overcooked and under seasoned. Tuna poke appetizer was not fresh, quite mushy. Chicken Marsala entree was very good. Won't be a regular stop with such great options in Bend, though will try again - everyone has an off night.

A very nice restaurant with great food. We had steaks and salmon and both were excellent. The service was great and the wait staff very friendly. Food came out in a nice timely manner. Prices were pretty much what you would expect for a restaurant like this, a tad on the high side, but the food was worth it. They do have a nice bar set up as well. Only down side was a large party with several kids that were noisy when we first came in, but luckily they finished and were gone before we had our starters.

Yelpers took me to Blacksmith during the Total Eclipse weekend 2017. The place was empty and the live band played about three songs before departing.

The staff was accommodating and our waitress Ashley, as I recall was superb. She had in depth knowledge of the drink and food menu and made recommendations through what seemed to be experience. The wife and i had cocktails and shared the beet salad to start. We then shared the large tomahawk rib eye which was seasoned and cooked perfectly to my liking at medium rare plus. Dessert was chef made vanilla ice cream which was more like gelato and a bit too sweet for me.

The ambiance could have easily been intimate rustic. The music was a nice added touch. Bar seemed well stocked with bourbon, gin, vodka etc and my version of the old fashioned was tasty.

I'd go again and recommend this restaurant to others. Parking is free surrounding the restaurant and Blacksmith is just a block off downtown strip.
