   It was our first visit. Loved everything about the restaurant. Our waiter who was French was superb! A little pricey but everywhere you go its the same now.

   Nice ambience and service. Food was good, hot and tasty. It arrived promptly. Wine, beer and drinks all good but very expensive. Overall, we enjoyed the night but £208 for 4 of us for 2 courses with drinks is expensive.

   The staff are so welcoming and friendly from the moment you arrive until you leave. The menu is a little small but the food is delicious and we have never had a bad dish. We highly recommend.

   We had a lovely time celebrating Mother's Day. Chose an early dinner which I think was probably better than a busy lunchtime so service was great. Only thing was they had run out of lots of the specials so we had to have our 3rd choice of main course.

   £135 for dinner for two people, this was very veru poor. The roast beef was bland, roast potatoes not cooked properly and this establishment clearly don't know how to make an espresso, more like filtered coffee. I feel the Black Swan is living off reputation rather than actually providing good quality food at a reasonable price. There are far better eating establishments that are providing good quality food at a halve the price, don't waste your money here just too sit in a nice looking pub, I really expected more. Yes it was the end of day but please don't spam me constantly if you can't fulfill your obligation to provide what should be near 5 star for pub food. A real shame

   A lovely Sunday roast, with plenty of options. If you get a table in the older side of the pub, the setting and ambiance is fantastic. We had a table in the closed up patio room, which felt hollow and was not as nice. Staff were very friendly, but our waitress had to be called every time we needed anything. I would definitely go back, but would request my table more specifically, or better yet, wait for good weather and sit outside.

   Mothers Day Lunch was simply amazing this year! We were served by Barbour and Diana who were super friendly and attentive. Food was excellent as were the wine recommendation from Barbie! Mum had the Roast Lamb and I had the Seabass. Can’t wait to go back, thank you!!

   We had a meal at the black swan on Saturday. The restaurant was lovely. The staff were absolutely amazing. The food was lovely but it would be nice if the burger was also served with a nice salad for the price. I was shocked at the price of your bottles of wine. Normally we would have a bottle but definitely not at your prices. It's such a shame. Thanks Josie

    The pork roast was dry/chewy and very little meat. The veg was good but cold. The food took a long time to arrive. The roast potatoes where also not very hot. Last weekend the food was excellent (a more substantial menu, faster service and hotter food). Today’s was so disappointing and together with a smaller menu-we won’t be eager to return. Perhaps it just gets far too busy that it’s only good if you come early at 12/12.30pm

    It’s nice. But the restaurant lacks ambience. Bit too starts. Understaffed. But staff were kind and funny. Took too long for drinks to arrive. Booked the bar but were sent to restaurant so kind of felt we had to have a full meal. Wanted to pick at their starters ( which are truly delicious ) at the bar. Good food. Not brilliant

    The team were lovely, friendly and welcoming but there were quite long periods where we didn’t see anyone so didn’t get the chance to order drinks, ask for the bill etc. The vegan cheeseburger wasn’t great - £16 is way too much for what I got! The bun was dry and not particularly exciting flavours. It’s also quite small. This pub used to do a fantastic vegan fish and chips - would love to see it back on the menu. On the whole it was a good visit. It was a cold, grey day and the open fire made it feel very cosy.

    We had dinner at 5pm on a Sunday evening. It was fairly busy but atmosphere was still pleasant and we were shown to our table straight away. The staff were friendly and informative and let us know straight away that a couple of menu items were no longer in stock which we appreciated. We have been to the Swan on several occasions now and the food is always excellent, well-cooked and presented and tastes delicious. Our waitress was quite busy and a little slow to clear our plates away and offer dessert menus, but this was only a very small issue and didn’t impact our overall experience.

    We arrived at 7.30pm and didn't immediately order as we were chatting with friends. However when we did order we waited 45mins for our starters which did not arrive. Just the main course. The starter had been forgotten. The manager gave us some bread and olives but we waited a further 20 mins for the starters to arrive having sent back the main courses. Very unsatisfactory.

    We’ve eaten year before so chose it to meet up with an old friend we hadn’t seen in a while. As it’s not spring yet, I wanted an early spring alternative to a G&T and ordered a French 75 and didn’t even have to explain. My Beef shin and polenta was fantastic. My wife and friend shared a fish and chips with extras which they loved. Great. We’ll be back again.

    This restaurant is fine: nothing special but a cut above usual pub fare. Then again, the prices are very much above standard pub prices. Service was friendly enough but chaotic. Some things weren't dealt with at all, some things dealt with multiple times by multiple staff. Service was slow. Food didn't all arrive at the same time. We had to repeat orders. One member of staff was rather intrusive and demanding; another didn't have answers to our questions (she was very nice and willing to find out the answers to our questions though). Ambience was OK. Service was OK. Food was OK. Expensive for what you got. I probably wouldn't come again.

    Had lunch for 6. They’d run out of our food order but neglected to tell us until about 45 mins after we’d ordered. Offered us an alternative, which took about 15 mins to serve. Portion size was t great with the replacement. They didn’t charge us which was appreciated but the whole experience was something that I wouldn’t expect from this venue. It was badly organised and communicated, and will make me think twice about visiting again.

    We were welcomed by a VERY pleasant gentleman and were seated quickly. Initial service was good but we did wait some time for our starters and then again for our main meal. The food was good and of excellent quality. Sadly the management of the staff was not so good. Many times one of the servers delivered items to the table beside us and then walked away empty handed and totally ignoring the empty finished dishes etc on our table. We did mention it to the pleasant gentleman who most of the time was serving us he indicated without saying anything that he understood. We thought that perhaps the restaurant was understaffed. Certainly there needs to be more training and use of some common sense

    Booking online through open table easy easy and efficient. On arrival the wonderful host explained that they were a little short staffed so service may take longer than expected. The service. From all touch points. The host- friendly, smiling even with a hugely expanded workload. The barman was outstanding. He was serving multiple people at once, always with a smile, never forgot an order and was serving walk ups to the bar and doing the drinks for the tables. Our table service was fun, delivered to perfection. The food arrived promptly and we would never had known some staff were off. What a visit! Thank you for having us
